How long did it take you or how many houses did you look at before you found the house you ended up buying?

I think we looked at about 15-20 houses over a month or 6 week period before ours went on the market. We bought it within a week of it being listed.

4 months and about 35 houses! Good luck!

We seriously looked for about 4-6 weeks and saw about 20 houses.

About 1 month and we looked at 40-ish houses.

We were looking at houses for over a year before we bought ours. We liked going to open houses on Sundays and we found our house 6 months before we meant to buy.

We looked at about 10 houses in a 2-week period - we got lucky!

Probably about 6-7 months. We'd do weekends of open houses and showings with an agent for months! Then we slowed down a bit in the Fall but happened upon an open house on our own and that was it! Worth the wait to find the right place!

We looked at places for about 6 weeks, and I saw around 40 houses total (DH didn't see as many as I sometimes did some "weeding out" while he was at work).

It took about a month. We looked at 20 or so houses.

We're 1.5 years in without a house. We've put offers on three and been outbid on all of them. I've looked at probably 35 houses.
Super picky in a tight expensive market does not equal home ownership for us just yet. -
We looked at a ton online and just driving by from the outside (probably close to 100)--this took about 6 months. Once we narrowed down the neighborhood we liked and actually looked with the realtor, it only took a day (I think our house was the 9th or 10th house we looked at that day). We knew right away that it was "the one!"

We started looking in April, lost out on one house in June. We found a even better house and went into contract on the 31st. We close Feb 1st. We easily looked at 50 houses during the 8 months.

We looked at three houses on the same day and our offer on he house we picked was accepted the following day. We closed three weeks later

Almost 2 years.

It's the only house we actually looked in. We drove by a few, but didn't like them for various reasons. I knew right away I loved this house.

3-4 months, visiting at least 50 homes. We usually hit 3-5 open houses near each other almost every Sunday.

We looked from March until August, and saw at least two dozen houses before finding one we wanted to put an offer on!
