From time you submitted an offer to move in date?
We put in an offer for a short sale home in October which was accepted in Nov. We closed and got the keys in mid December but we did renovations and didn't move in until January.
My coworker is going through the house hunting process right now!

Put in an offer in late August, it was accepted a week later, we closed a month later and moved in 2 weeks after we closed.

We actually bought the rental house we were already living in. We were lazy and didn't want to face the idea of moving again 
The whole process took about a month.

3 months! They had just put it up and weren't expecting it to go so fast, they hadn't found another house yet, so we did the max time allowed in our state. We weren't in any hurry so it worked out for both parties.

We made an offer mid Jan and closed 2/29 on leap year 3 years ago. We moved into the basement while renovations were being done since our renters at our old house wanted to move in ASAP. I think we were in the basement a month.
Three years later we will be bringing our daughter home. 3 weeks or less, so exciting.

I bought a short sale, but thankfully they were motivated sellers.
I put in an offer, and closed 25 days later. DH (we were dating at the time) scheduled a vacation that began the day after closing so the house was painted while we were gone for a week. I moved in when we got home. So just over a month.

Once we closed, we could move in immediately because it was a new build and we were the first occupants. We were all in within a month.

Negative time. We rented our condo for almost a year, then the owner offered to sell it. He told us he was planning to sell early feb, I think, and we closed the end of March. Obviously no move involved at that point!

We put in an offer on 4/30, closed 5/24, and moved in at the very end of June or beginning of July, I can't remember the exact date. We were doing some work on the kitchen and were still in a lease at our old apartment, so we weren't in a huge hurry.

My memory is that we signed the sales contract in mid-December (we bought a spec house so there was no offer/bid process) and closed the last week of January and moved in January 31 (we were renting previously so we had to move fast!)

From offer to close, 6 weeks. We moved in a week after that. I wish we had done renos first though!

We put in our offer at the end of July and closed mid September. We had a two week overlap where we had our house and our apartment so we moved in slowly, painted, etc. We were fully moved in by the end of September.

Offer to close was 16 days. We moved in two months later.... Should have done four months our renos weren't done.

Offer on Dec 30th, closed first week of Feb and moved next weekend. Took the 1st weekend to do some painting.

@lemondrop: laziness was no small part of us buying our condo too! But we did look around to make sure we were getting a good deal and wouldn't regret it. It was stressful for a few weeks while we decided whether to buy it or start looking for a new pet and baby friendly rental in less than two months!

@autumnlove: @Foodnerd81: kind of- we bought in Dec 2007, right after that the housing market crashed and we almost immediately were under water by 80k. We're still recovering and are almost to the point where we *could* break even

About a month from offer to moving in. We made the offer and it was accepted the same day as the only open house.

2-ish months, our offer was accepted Dec 4 and we moved in Feb 1. Pretty sure we could have moved in sooner but we were married/honeymooned on Jan 12.

Under contract the end of August, closed the beginning of October, got the keys middle of October and moved in the next day.

We bought our first house in NY and it took about three months, we now live in TX and it takes about 30 days! So different.

we had a 3 month settlement on our purchase, and when we came to the house on the day of settlement she old owner was still moving out! I ended up having to help get her stuff out, considering I was now the owner of the home and having the locks changed at the same time. Ended up in a verbal altercation with her as she wanted to leave everything in the shed and also furniture in the garage. The house was filthy as she hadn't cleaned it pre-settlement. Did not end well!

Two months. The sellers had to buy and close on a house within that the time, or else it would have been a month.

We saw and put in an offer on the 1st of the month, closed on the 27th of the same month and moved in the next day!

About six weeks, but we purchased with an agreement to have a small issue repaired. We started moving the day we closed!
