3 years and 5 days. We knew years before that, but we were long distance for three years while I was out of state for law school and didn't want a long engagement. He proposed during spring break 2L year, and we were married the Saturday after graduation 14 months later.

Forever, lol! We dated for 5 years before getting engaged. We also lived together for 3 years prior and bought a house together 1 year prior.

We were engaged at 6 months 1 day! Our engagement was 15 months. I think we combined with our age and 'just knowing' had a lot to do with the quick engagement. I didn't expect it that soon...was kind of thinking he'd pop the question around the 1 year mark.

10 years...but I was 17 when we first started dating in high school. We moved in together after a year and focused on school/careers and then on houses (we flipped 2). It wasn't until we wanted kids that we thought we should make it formal. Funny condidering how meaningful our marriage is to me now.

Just over a year and a half of dating. I had later found out that he started looking at rings after 11 months(he was showing his sister rings he picked out) but he couldn't afford what he wanted to gets, so he waited

Just under 3 years. We started dating a 22, so we waited until we were finished grad school and had jobs...and so DH had enough for my ring

2.5 years and then a 6 month engagement. We knew early on that we wanted to get married, but knew we had some maturing to do. It was worth the wait!

@littlebittyhouse: Awww, that's my dream proposal! DH wanted it to be a surprise though, and knew he couldn't get me near Disney without me suspecting something
He proposed a month before our 3 year anniversary on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.

We dated for 3 years & 5 months before getting engaged. We had a 'love at first sight' kind of meeting... so we were ready long before he actually proposed!
