I am not usually a stomach sleeper, but sometimes when I can't fall asleep that gets me asleep the fastest. With my first pregnancy I think I stopped around the middle of the first trimester. When did you stop sleeping on your stomach?

I'm 8 weeks today and just in the last couple of days I've started to feel a little uncomfortable on my tummy. I have my first ultrasound tomorrow and as long as all looks well I think I will go buy a snoogle and try to totally get off of stomach sleeping.

@MamaMoose: That's exciting about your first u/s! I used the snoogle for my first pregnancy & LOVED that thing! I didn't use it until late in my second trimester but I have I feeling I will be using it a lot sooner this time around

@sulli301: I'm really hoping it will help me. I've had terrible pain in my hips and back and it's really difficult for me to get comfortable in bed.

@Rubies: Yeah, I remember my cousin saying to me "Don't you hate not sleeping on your stomach?!" when I was very early into my pregnancy & I was alarmed because I was still sleeping on my stomach. Thankfully I was comforted when my research showed that baby is nice & protected, so it's okay

I'm not a stomach sleeper, but I'll sleep on my side/stomach. I'll probably stop after the first trimester!

Uh-oh! So I may only have a few days left of being a devoted stomach-sleeper? Say it ain't so!

@chopsuey119: I'm usually on my sides but if I can't sleep I put my hands under the pillow & sleep on my stomach...it's somehow comforting & I fall asleep a lot faster. Hopefully I sleep well this pregnancy like I did last.
@cyneswith: enjoy it now!!
You probably won't want to once you get a bit of a baby belly & it isn't comfortable

I am 13 weeks and starting about 2 weeks ago I started to feel a little uncomfortable. I am still doing it to fall asleep as long as it feels ok (I am sorta propping up one hip with a pillow to take some pressure off belly)... But I am a total stomach sleeper!!
I have had a week or insomnia because I am trying to sleep on my side but it's not comfy already! I need one of those pillows.

@hellobeeboston: the snoogle helped me a lot!! But they have a ton of different pregnancy pillows so I would suggest going to a store to look at some in person if that's a possibility for you

@sulli301: I was eyeing the snoogle! I may have to get it this weekend! I was thinking I was still too early but it may help!

@hellobeeboston: I didn't use mine soon enough last time! I wish I would have & plan to use it earlier this time around

I didn't stop sleeping on my stomach until I started showing, which was around 22 weeks. I so look forward to sleeping on my stomach again!

I'm 15 weeks and am a full time stomach sleeper, it's not as comfortable as it used to be, and I've started to switch to my back...sigh why not my left side like a good girl.
I'm going to work on side sleeping soon and will probably be buying a snoogle.

I love sleeping on my stomach! But I stopped early because I wanted to get used to being on my side.

Luckily I'm a left side sleeper but I like to start off sleeping on my stomach. I stopped starting off stomach sleeping at around 12 weeks. I felt like I would crushing the baby for some reason! lol

I'm 35 weeks and currently sleep 1/2 way between my stomach and my side--shoulders down, one leg down, the other leg over to the side, kind of like my body makes an upside down 4.
I slept like that and on my stomach through part of 2nd tri. Now I sleep like that, and all the way on my side.

I love sleeping on my stomach, I stopped very early because I felt so bloated and sleeping on my belly made me feel like throwing up.

@Mrsbells: Ditto.
I almost immediately (and unintentionally) sleeping on my back because between the pressure on my stomach and the pressure on my neck, sleeping on my stomach was making me sick. I'm almost 24 weeks now, and am finally usually on my left side, thanks in large part to my snoogle, although I often wake up to find myself half on my back, half on my left side (kind of tilted, to the left, I guess?)

I'm at 18w and still sometimes sleeping on my stomach..I just wake up that way! But most of the time I'm on my side. I've been aiming for my side since the end of the first trimester. It's been a little hard since I realized that I sleep in all positions...
