Anything longer than 30 minutes annoys me!

Anything longer than 30 minutes and I'm up at the front desk with my best impatient face on

I am not big on waiting but my ob always has me wait. Sometimes it was an hour+ and I would have to hobble to the restroom more than once! They were nice and would bring me bottled water and offer to let me see a PA if it was super long...

Ugh, hate this. I tried to make my appointments very early in the day this time around so that they couldn't get too far behind.

I cannot believe you've had to wait that long! That would infuriate me! (Unless the doctor was busy delivering another baby or was attending to a medical emergency of some sort -- but even then I would hope someone would come let you know about the situation!)

I usually have to wait for about 30 minutes at my midwife's office and even that sometimes bothers me. It's especially annoying when I bring DS to my appointments (when I can't find babysitting) and I have to try and keep him entertained.

I feel your pain. I once went to my OBGYN's for an appt. while pregnant, was the first appointment, got there 10 minutes early, had to wait for them to OPEN the office. Then I'm told after about 20ish minutes of waiting that the doc is at the hospital and will be late, so then the doc sees me after over an hour of waiting and doesn't even apologize. I was pretty pissed off.

ugh for my US yesterday I had to wait so long! I got there 10 minutes early because I figured I'd have to fill out paper work. 40 minutes after my appointment time I finally went to the receptionist and asked when she thought I could be seen. She called the US tech and apparently she was just hanging out in her office / had forgotten she had an appointment!

I voted an hour but I'd probably already be annoyed after 30 min but that seems to be the norm. I hate that I always get there early too!

@.twist.: Obviously things come up and sometimes you're the one waiting and sometimes you're the one causing the delay. I think it would just be nice to let people know instead of plopping them down in the waiting room for God knows how long. I'd really appreciate if they let me know that the doctor is behind schedule by an estimated amount of time. For me, it's all about managing expectations.

So i know that doctors (especially OBs) run behind because they can run off to deliver babies, but I have started calling and asking if they are on time and/or will be on time so that I know whether or not to come at a certain time or not. I will also ask if i can see the nurse practitioner instead, in order to scoot things along. I have shit to do. Waiting an hour plus to see the dr isn't one of them

I start getting annoyed after about 45 minutes. I usually just expect my OB to be running late. I just hope he's not off doing a delivery. I don't mind waiting in the waiting room, but HATE waiting forever in the exam room. I try to schedule appointments first thing in the morning or right when lunch break is over.

I always hated afternoon OB appointments because I would end up waiting in the waiting room for 30+ minutes and then wait another 45+ in the actual room! Waiting in the room is the worst...especially if you have to disrobe because you are just sitting there partially naked. I never had an issue with my morning OB appointments because I never waited longer than 30 minutes.

I think I can understand once or twice waiting more than 30 minutes but if it is a weekly occurrence I would get pissed if I had to wait longer than 30-45 minutes for an appointment.

I'll wait 30 minutes before I say something to front desk. If I sit there for 45 min-1 hour I reschedule with an attitude.

If I get there and go straight to an exam room, I'm out in the hallway after 30 min! I don't have time for that, and honestly it's bullshit. 30 minutes? Ok, stuff happens.. an hour? Someone isn't doing their job properly.

I have zero tolerance for that, because that is time I am taking
(unpaid) off of work.. to be on time for an appointment they made for me & didn't call to let me know would be behind. Nope nope nope.

This is one of the reasons I love midwives - I never had to wait more than 10 minutes, and our appointments were 45 minutes long.

@Mrs. Sunshine: same! For my first pp appointment, I had to take DS (6 weeks old at the time) and I had to wait an hour and a half to be seen! My OB was delivering babies but it would have been nice of the office to reschedule the patients who were already in their rooms.

30 minutes is when I want to reschedule, usually.

Ugh, a 30 minute wait time for me is lucky! Apparently I picked the most popular OB in the city, because I get an hour wait almost every time. I'm usually pretty livid by the time they call me in, and about ready to find a new Dr., but then I see her and remember why I love her so much. They do always have to take my blood pressure twice though, because I get so worked up sitting there for an hour.

And, I do try to be understanding that she's delivering other babies (and luckily her practice is right next door to the hospital), BUT, I was in the hospital for 3.5 days and she never once came to see me... I'm still a little bitter about that...

@runnerd: oh yea this happened to me one day I had to wait 2+ hrs at the hospital to drop off some pee and then I was racing to see my dr by closing time. I was pissed, my BP was through the roof, she's like it's no big deal calm down lol.
