Depends on traffic and the time I'm going in. When I worked Saturday mornings I gave myself 35-40 minutes and would be 15 minutes early. Never been late on a Saturday...
But on a Monday? I have to give myself a full hour and usually get there with 7-10 minutes to spare. Mondays are the only day I've ever been late.
The commute is 20 miles nearly exactly

Two days a week it is 1 hour each way and two days it is 1.5 hours each way. I work in 10 different rural schools and I'm also commuting between schools during the work day. I stay home Fridays to do my paperwork. I don't mind my commute on the way to work even though it's so long. I love drinking my coffee and listening to music. I also talk to my other SLP Friends on the phone who also have long commutes. I don't like the commute home as much but I'm home by 4pm so my days aren't too long. Starting September I will have to start doing daycare drop offs and pickups too which will add a little time to my days.

5 minute walk to the train station and 10-15 minutes on the train. I really hate driving.

It's about 25-30 minutes or so on the El. It takes about 2-3 minutes to get our stop.

@Smurfette: body fat. It's not too bad, but it does take longer when there's snow or ice.

30 mins from our house, to the babysitters, and back to work. 10 minutes from work to home (DH does pick up).

10 minute walk to daycare, then 15ish minute walk to the office from there. Takes 30-35 min total with the stop at daycare.

My DH and I were talking about commutes last night and he had a magazine that had some snippets in it that really made sense to me:
1) A Swedish study made a splash in 2011 when it found that couples in which one partner commutes a long way to work (more than 45 mins.) are 40% more likely to divorce than couples who don’t have to travel so far for their jobs. http://healthland.time.com/2011/06/07/qa-why-commuting-sucks-the-life-out-of-you/
2) A person who commutes an hour each way has to make 40% more money to be as satisfied with life as a person who lives near the office. http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424052702304626104579123410861484896

I'm in a long commute city, Houston, but DH and I were lucky enough to find this fabulous house in the perfect area for both of our jobs. He has a seven minute commute and I have a 12 minute commute!
