One bad one where I was siting still at a red light. A drunk driver drove through the red light heading towards me, hit a car going through the intersection and both cars slammed into mine. I was okay but my poor Jeep had some major damage.

I've been rear-ended a couple of times and the one time an accident was my fault, I pulled out of the garage and hit my husband's car. :-\ Whoooops! We didn't do anything about that accident so, does it still count?

I've been in 1. It was totally my fault... I accidentally ran a red light and hit someone who was turning left as I went straight through it. We were going pretty slow so no one was hurt. My car had to be fixed a little (just the front bumper), but I was so nervous to drive for a long time after that!

I've been in 4 accidents. 2 were an inch away from being deadly. the other 2 were in the same day... 3 hours apart.

One in HS, was a passenger. Crossing an intersection and the other car hit the passenger side door. No one was hurt.

One in college. I was the driver and drove onto a sidewalk while pulling into a parking space. Think it was too many late nights that affected me. Luckily I was parking so car wasn't moving fast. No was hurt, car was okay.

Post college, got rear ended on the road. The other car just drove away. Wasn't hurt.

Next, a passenger in a car that drove into a store front. It was a glass store front and the only reason was stopped was because we hit one of the foundation beams. We were in a hefty SUV and I only got a sprained ankle. This happened a few blocks from herald square and luckily it was like 4 in the morning, so no one was on the street or in the shop.

Latest was NYE last year. Collided with another car at an intersection. It was my fault because I had the stop sign. LO was in the car too - I was terrified. No one was hurt and damages were minor.

As a passenger, one. I was a kid in the back seat when my mom rear ended someone who slammed on their brakes.

As a driver, one little one. Some idiot in front of me was hauling furniture in the back of his truck without tying any of it down, in a rainstorm. A metal armchair came flying off the back of his truck, right it front of me. I ran into it, it got all caught up in the undercarriage of my car. He kept driving. I got out of the car, in this raging storm, on the highway, and actually managed to lift the front end of the car off it and get it untangled with my foot. Not much damage.

One, I was the driver, not exactly my fault. It was December 2, 2007 (totally remember, I was traumatized) - it was the first snow of the year and it was crazy icy, blizzardy, and rainy. I was on the high way and started hydroplaning - I spun across 4 lanes of traffic, got hit twice by two different cars, and ultimately ended up in the ditch at the other side of the high way. My car was totaled...I was okay. It was the scariest night of my life and thinking about it gives me goosebumps.

One accident, and I was the passenger. The impact was on my side, and there's a possibility that the shock of the accident may have caused my retinal tear. Boo.

I am super careful when I drive, especially now that I'm a mother. I feel like I have a responsibility to be safe on the road for my LO.

I had 1 minor one with my driver's permit... and then 1 bad one where my driver's side got crushed by an oncoming speeder (I was fine)... just a few months after I got my license.

Aside from that I've only had one big accident... I was merging onto a local freeway and a guy sideswiped me as he sped by cutting me off. I tried breaking to avoid hitting him, the brakes stalled, I hit the median with my left front, flipped, and hit the right back. and flipped again and hit my left front. My brand new Honday Accord (3 months) was totaled, though I left with only a sore wrist.

wow, reading these is terrifying!!!! I was taught how to drive by my grandma-like father, so I'm an extremely cautious driver, despite the fact that I'm from Boston, am Asian, and a woman I've been the driver in a few very minor incidents, only one went to insurance-- I was driving along a major road in Boston and a driver trying to take a right onto said road ignored the stop sign and hit us. He tried to blame us but we were like... umm.. all we did was drive forward on a major road. He fought us for a while but we just shut up and called insurance, and there was no question-- 100% his fault.

The deer story reminded me of something hilarious... my dad was once at a red light, and he was looking in his rearview mirror and saw a deer running down the road. He thought, "how strange" and then BAM! The deer hit the side of his car! He couldn't even open his door. The deer eventually got up and ran into the woods, where it probably died... because it hit my dad's car so hard, the entire door was covered in fur and blood, and there was a line of deer fur stuck between the hubcap and the tire so deep that my dad had to remove the tire to clean out the fur. We would never have believed him if it weren't for that line of fur (he washed the car on the way home, but the fur wouldn't budge). The door was completely smashed. So sad for the deer. But yeah-- that's pretty much the extent of my dad's car incidences. Grandma, I tell you!

@Rescuemom10: it is shocking to know just how powerful they are!! They look so gentle. When I asked my dad what happened to it, he said it ran off. Later he told me it probably crawled into the woods and died there. I cried!

@Tina- I know right! The first deer I hit tech totalled my car. My Grandfather who at the time was still alive and well repaired my car. He use to own his own Auto repair place so he was able to fix everything. When I got it back he had signs all over my car that said "Deer Slayer". It was funny! But not so funny for the deer!
The cop and the tow truck driver at the scene said I was really lucky. I was like 18 at the time and I had a big old car (Dodge Dynasty) They said had I been driving a smaller car it would have come up into the windshield and taken me out. It was a VERY large deer and I was lucky to be driving a big car that had a box front and knocked it down instead of coming up and over the hood!

None with cars, just have a thing backing into poles!
