Lately I've been falling asleep when I put Charlie down! So I sleep quite a bit... unless I wake up in the middle of the night. Which happens quite a bit too unfortunately.
How many hours of sleep do you average a night?

I think I get about 8 or 9 hours every night, counting getting up at least once a night to pee....
When I used to have to get up by 5:30 I was probably getting more like 7 -7.5 hours.

Right now I'm getting around 10 hours of sleep! But that's because I'm on maternity leave and my mom is staying with us. usually I get around 6 or 7.

I'm averaging 6 lately, not bad considering how much my sleep habits have changed over the past year. When it is on the lower end of hours, I try to catch an afternoon nap with the boy.

6 or 7... LO is down early but DH & I like to stay up and talk/eat dinner/watch TV. And DD decided her wake up time is 5:30 now. Awesome

Around 10 broken hours with random trips to the bathroom and 60 minute breaks in sleep where I am.wide awake for no.reason.

6 hours on average. I go to bed at 10, nurse baby until 11, he wakes 2 times for approximately 30 minutes each. He wakes early about around 6:30 am. So about 6 hours of sleep. I really need him to sleep more. On bad nights, we nurse every 2 hours.

holy shit. (am i allowed to say that?) so jealous of all you people who get more than 8. or 7. or 6 for that matter.
I would say I get around 5 or 6 a night. My LO is a terrible night sleeper, wakes lots of times, and gets up early. On top of that, I have a second job working from home and the only time I have free that I can do it is at night/wee hours of the morning.
grapefruit / 4819 posts
I get about 8 hrs every night. LO goes to bed around 5:30 or 6:00 and sleeps until 5:30 a.m. so I try to head to bed around 9:00, give or take a little bit. DH and I are definitely early birds as opposed to night owls....as evidenced by our bedtime that is on par with a couple of old nanas!

ugh. i get around 4-5 hours at night right now. they get up twice and i have to pump once and sometimes takes me awhile to fall back asleep. *yawn* i need my 8 hours.
pear / 1639 posts
I would say about 8 hrs on a night I don't work. I work night shifts, so when I do work, I sleep anywhere from 3-5 hrs when I get home.
pomelo / 5321 posts
I usually average 7 or 8 hours a night. I could get more but I always stay up late.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
On a good night 7 total. On a bad night, like last might? 5. Went to bed at 10:30 and baby was up t 1, 345 and 5 for the day. Shoot me now.

Ohhh...let's seee..... 6 hours? If I get to sleep by 9pm, I'm up at 5. But I get up numerous times a night to either check on her (on her belly) or feed her. I have no clue. I 'll go with 6 right now.

Maybe 8 hours interrupted? I wake up at least once to pee!

This thread sort of terrifies me, haha. I need my 8 hours of sleep or I just feel devastated the next day. Please tell me its possible to still get this after baby starts sleeping through the night?

7 But I don't have wee little ones! Just a pup who needs to get up for a walk in the morning.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
7 to 8 hours, but I get up a mininum of 2 times to go to the bathroom. Knock on wood, lately I haven't had any issue falling right back asleep. The weekends I usually get 10. DH and I are getting as much sleep as we can now!
cantaloupe / 6630 posts
Right now, about two. But I'm 37 weeks pregnant and we have family staying with us in a one bedroom apartment. I cut DH a new one yesterday about coming to bed late, waking me up, then watching movies in bed so I can't get to sleep then him getting to lie in every morning while I get up for work. He was much better last night, bless him. I think I'm pretty scary when I'm tired!

8 on a good day, 6 or 7 more typically. I try to go to bed at 10 and get up for the day at 6. But between days where I stay up too late and baby wakeups it's rare I get that 8 hours uninterrupted.
grapefruit / 4669 posts
I sleep about 8 or so. Would love to sleep more, but I can't make myself go to bed!

Wow!! I'm jealous of all y'all!! We get about 3-4 hours and we don't even have a LO!!! (>_<)
nectarine / 2504 posts
About 6-7 hours depending on how well LO sleeps through the night and how early I manage to get to bed. Before LO, I slept for 9 hours a night =/ I miss sleep...

8ish. I try to fall asleep by midnight at the latest, DD wakes up at 8am right now.

5-6 hours a night, in 1 to 2 hour increments. sigh... i'm waiting for a light at the end of the tunnel..
pomegranate / 3204 posts
6-7 hours! Not solid though! It's broken up in like 3-4 increments!
blogger / watermelon / 14218 posts
about 6 hours, interrupted either once or twice. Some bad nights it's just 3 or 4 hours total. I cannot wait for STTN to start.... soon, please, LMW?!?!?
pomegranate / 3383 posts
On a good night I get 7-8 hrs uninterrupted. On a bad night I get the same but with a pee break sometime in the middle of the night. And I'm not even pregnant!
squash / 13199 posts
I get 5 or 6 hours most nights. I cant believe some of you get 9 hours? I havent had 9 hours of sleep in a while!
cantaloupe / 6164 posts

Wait a min...how do you ladies manage to get 8, 9 or even 10 hours of sleep!? People keep telling me to cherish my sleep now before baby arrives because sleep will be a thing of the past!
How old are your LOs?
pomegranate / 3716 posts
No LO yet, i average 7 - 8 hrs/ night.
I went through 1- 2 months of really poor sleep recently, but then bought a white noise machine (thank you HB for the reccs!!). The improvement in my sleep quality was miraculous!!
pomegranate / 3160 posts
About 8 hours during the week, if I sleep in on the weekends...12...13?
pear / 1723 posts
On a good night, it's bed at 9:30, wake at 6, with an 1-1.5 hours lost over 2 night feedings. So around 7 hours. It's wonderful to start feeling human again after many months of 5-6 or less in very small chunks.
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
@Mrs. Lantern: it varies. Ds is 8 months and I get 7-8 hours but it is interrupted sleep (at least once, sometimes twice). He has STTN a few times but not since we moved.
honeydew / 7303 posts
I'm getting around 6 right now. I go to bed when baby does (7 weeks this weekend) but she refuses to sleep until around 11 pm, she'll wake to eat around 3 and it takes me an hot to feed her and then pump to build up my freezer stash for back to work. She gets up again around 6 or 7, and I just get up for the day then since when I put her back down I actually have time to shower/eat breakfast!
