My parents had 2 - a boy and a girl, and that's what we ended up with too. No matter the sex, we would have stopped at 2 though. We can't be outnumbered, and 2 is tough! I can't imagine 3.... or 4!
What about you?

DH and I both come from families with 2 kids and we plan to have 2. I sometimes think maybe we'll want a third but he is firmly in camp 2 and done.

My parents had two girls, and we want two, no more than three children.

My parents have 4--3 boys and 1 girl. They said they would have tried for a 5th if I had been a boy!
My ILs have 3 boys, and my MIL always tells us not to let ourselves get outnumbered by kids (even though D is the third!)
We're not sure whether or not we'll end up trying for a second, but if we do, that would be it, regardless of the sex of #2.

My parents have two; one girl one boy
I am not 100% but I think I want three!

My parents have 4, 2 boys and 2 girls. I only want 2... maybe 3.

My mom and dad had 2-- 1 Boy 1 girl. My mother went on and had 3 more with her second husband. 1 Girl and 2 boys (twins).
My Dh is 1 of 3. 2 boys then 1 girl.
We have 1 boy now and will 100% try for a second. If it is another boy we would try for a third for a girl.

My parents had 3 (I'm the third child). My ILs had 2 (my hubs is the eldest). We currently have 2, one of each. We intend to have 3

My parents have 4 - three girls and a boy. I used to think I wanted a big family, but my DH and I decided two is just right for us.

My parents had two, as did my husband's parents. Boy and a girl for each of us.
I have no idea how many we want. I think probably 2, although I'm not ruling anything out. I could see myself with 1, 2, 4… our plan is just to have one and see how it goes. Then if we want another have that one and see how it goes. No plans longer-term than the next (possible) kid.

My dad had 6 children over the course over 30 years and my mom had 3 kids over 20 years.
I'm thinking we are done after LO #2 arrives. I like the idea of 3 but I'm tired lol.

I am one of three girls, and DH is one of two boys. I'm the baby and he's the oldest. We currently have two-- a boy and a girl. We will likely have one more.

My parents had five and I would like four. My husband's parents had two and that's what my husband would prefer, so I'm guessing we'll end up at three.

My parents just had me. DH has one brother. So we are more than happy with our two kids.

I come from a family of 10 kids and DH from a family of 9 and it's funny how our number has diminished. Once upon a time, we were going to have 10-12. Then we said a minimum of 5. Then we had our second and I almost broke and was very near being certain that I only wanted 2. But DH still wanted more. So we're having #3 and we'll see if this is where we stop, but I think our absolute max is 4 now. We liked some of the things we had in large families, but now we see a lot of the problems too.

Parent have 4- 3 girls, 1 boy.
We're probably done at two, though 3 still tries to entice me at times

My parents had two girls and my in-laws had a girl and a boy.
Before I had my son (13 months), I thought I might like three. But now, even TWO seems daunting, and we're so not ready to make that happen.! I do think we'll end up with two, though.
Not being outnumbered seems wise!

My parents had two (one of each), his had three (one boy and two girls), and we're both the eldest. Right now we're both in the "let's see how one goes, but two sounds good" camp.

both DH and my parents had 3: two girls and one boy. it was pretty easy for us to agree that 3 is our ideal.

My parents had three. I'd like two. We have four embryos frozen right now, I'm curious to know how many we end up with.

My parents had 2 and DH is an only child. We already have four. I know they outnumber me but I just love it. I wouldn't be opposed to adopting again but DH thinks I'm out of my mind.

My parents had two girls and my husbands parents had a boy and a girl. I would love 3 but getting my husband to stay on track for 2 was a fight so I think we will most likely end up with two which is fine by me.

My parents had 3 (2 girls, 1 boy). DH has one sister.
See my other post. I want 2. He wants just the one.

My parents had 2. His parents had 3. We are toying with the idea of 3... But we think we'd be ok stopping at 2. We don't know yet!

My mum was one of eight children and wanted a large family but she got GD when she was pregnant with me and was too scared (of needles) to have any more! So Im an only. DH is the eldest of 2. We want 2-3 children.

My parents have 5 girls. I started out wanting 2-3. Now I am more than happy with my 2 boys. It's too scary to be outnumbered.

Lots of people want more than two here. I'm a little surprised

Both dh and I come from 2 children families, and we both want 2, though if they are both girls I could see dh wanting to try for a boy!

@Mrs. Jacks: I'm surprised too! Though irl 2 couples we are very close to want 4 kids. But most families I know have 2!

I come from 2, DH comes from 3. I hate(d) only having one sibling. I would like more than 2 but I am terrified of having a middle child.
