We want to have at least 2, but will consider 3 depending on how things in life go. Do you know how many kids you want? Are you and your SO on the same page?

We both want 3 but we will think it over after 2!

We're at an impasse right now...I fairly sure I want two, he's fairly sure he only wants one.
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
We originally wanted 3 but I'm thinking 2 is a better option, DH agrees.

@Bao: Like you, we would be happy with 2, but are open to 3... he is more open to 3 than I am, but it all really depends on how we even handle having two!
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
I want 2 or 3, depending on how everything goes. He wants 2. So, most likely it will be 2, but I'm open to the option of a third. I'm not THAT young, though, so probably the third would be a tiny bit of a stretch anyway (32 and preg with #1 right now).

we thought 'one and done' but now I was like, a million! haha
no, but I'd really love a second, we'll see.

I have a strict no more than 2 rule. DH is open to 3. We know we will not be 1 & done though.

4 is the plan, but we're gonna take it one at at time! so far we got one 8month old, and one on the way!
coconut / 8305 posts
We're thinking 1 or 2 more putting our total at 3 or 4. I'm good as long as I don't have a "clan" as I like to call it (6+).
bananas / 9229 posts
I'd like 2 but DH just wants 1. I think he might change his mind though. He's thinking with his brain and not his heart

We originally wanted two. We have had lots of family planning discusions, none of them went as planned as we planned. I was more excited for the fourth than he was but got on board eventually. I am pretty sure we are done. I had my tubes tied so unless I fall in the 1.5% of people who's tubes grow back we won't have any more biological children.

We want a boy and a girl, but if we double up, we'd try for a third. That's it though. That's what we have agreed on.
watermelon / 14206 posts
We said 3, but I have been over this pregnancy since the halfway point, and at this point I cannot imagine getting pregnant again. I think my husband would be ok with whichever number. After all, he's not the one who has to be pregnant, lol.

I want two. But if our next LO is another girl hubs says he will definitely want to try one more time for a boy. But paying for three college tuitions scares me!!

A part of me wants three, especially since I was a third child, and my DH is fine with the idea but we've both agreed that since these first two are so close together, we'll wait a year or two and discuss whether we'll be having another one or not. Good news is if we have a girl this time after having a boy, we'll have the third baby set clothes wise.

I want 2, hoping for a girl for LO #2. Right now, the next one's not high on our list as we're still working on sleep and our LO. Whenever we mention birth control, etc., he doesn't seem to mind if I miss one or that it could lead to pregnancy. I'm going to see where we're at once the birth control runs out, cycles normalize, and where I'm at with breastfeeding LO #1.

We agreed..until LO came along.
He's a good baby but, I really don't want to do this again & again.
I say 3...4MAX.
Our original plan was a definite 4...possibly an accidents 5th wouldn't be so bad?
I'm 24 so we've got time but honestly, 3 would fill my heart:) I'd be OK being done!
honeydew / 7909 posts
I say 3... DH wants a house full! I'd be okay with 4. But we don't have any LOs yet so things can change pretty quickly!

We both wanted two, even if both were the same gender. I'm happy with my two kiddos. I feel complete.
persimmon / 1171 posts
He is set on 2 but I told him he knew I wanted 4 from the start so we are probably going to meet in the middle and shoot for 3. (:
Unless I can sneak out a 4th...just kidding (:

I want 3 (I think...but I'm still waiting to meet #1), DH wants 2 and maybe a 3rd. He grew up as one of 2, so that makes sense to him, and he's more driven by making sure we can afford the third; I grew up as one of 3 and want that for our kids, too, and figure we'll find a way to afford it.
eggplant / 11716 posts
If we had tons of money, and I only had to actually birth 2 of them, I would want 4+ (I love kids, I'm a teacher, and I'm one of 6 kids).
But as it is...probably 2. Maybe 3.
persimmon / 1361 posts
We say 2....maybe 3. I'd like one of each and have my boy so if the next is a girl, we'll be done. If not, I'll be tempted to have a third.
squash / 13764 posts
We want 3, ideally...pretty sure we're in agreement although I think he'd be happy with 4 (I think I'd be insane with 4).
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
We both say 2 is the limit. Granted we will see once this one is here, whether we will be up for another. But definitely 2 is the limit.

We both want four. DH is ready to try for number two. I'm only three weeks pp. He crazy!
eggplant / 11824 posts
We're both agreed on just 1 with the very slim possibility of a second one in a few years. Every week we're like "still on board for just 1?" "yup" "yup" but then my husband backed out on the plan to get a vasectomy....so we'll see. Absolutely no more than 2.
GOLD / wonderful grape / 20289 posts
Ideally..... 3. But due to health problems and financial reasons it might be 2. DH's ideal number is 2, but he is open to 3.
pomegranate / 3516 posts
Our plan was always that we wanted two, but that if we had two boys first, we'd try for a girl. Well, we had a girl first and for a while considered stopping at one. Now though, we both agree that we want two and then we'll stop. We both agreed to wait to try in a little more than a year.
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
@oliviaoblivia: haha! At least your hubby is totally on board for more babies!
GOLD / apricot / 315 posts
We waver between two and three. Three seems like it changes the equation a bit - we'd have to get a bigger car, kids would have to share rooms, etc. Plus the cost of daycare for three kids makes me panic. But at the same time, I've always thought it would be fun to have three little ones running around...
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
We are for sure having 2 and keep the "option" open for a 3rd. We both decided that we will make this decison before building our house so we have enough bedrooms for all kids.
