How many names does your child have?
When DD was born we gave her a first and middle , so she has 3 including our last names.
Then as we talked to friends who had babies at the same time, we learned MANY had 4 or 5 total including family name, and we felt bad for a few minutes, lol.

@Mrs. D: DH has 4 and has a hard filling out standardized forms so he was adamant than any LOs only get 3 names.

Mine is the same, first middle last.
But one of my nephews has two middle names. They couldn't decide (he wanted one, she wanted the other and neither was going to give in!) so they gave him both.

First, My Family, DH Family for both kids. This is common among Filipino families where the child has both parents' family names.

LO just has first, middle, last.
DH has 4 names and was against more than 3 names for LO. MIL tried to get us to go with 4 but we didn't.

DH adamantly vetoed 4. I wanted 2 middle names. Realistically that will have to become the norm soon with the rate of population growth.

Mom keeping her last name and kids getting both the dad's last name and the mom's last name is common is Hispanic countries.

I once worked with a girl that had such a ridiculously long name that it didn't all fit in her passport. She had something like 6 middles and a 5-part last name
