Mine is 5 months and now takes 2-3, but she's always had an irregular nap schedule. Lately, each nap is anywhere from 45 to 90 minutes. Occasionally, on a 2 nap day, she'll take a 2 hour nap, but I'm never prepared, and don't end up getting a ton done, because I expect only 45

My first took 4 at that age, my second is all over the map....but maybe 3?

Sawyer is 4.5 months and usually takes 3 naps, they all are around 90 minutes (though as short as 45 minutes or as long as 2 hours). If all the naps are short, then he will take 4 naps.

If she is taking long naps (2 hours) that day, 2. If it's short naps 30-60 minutes), 3-4.

At 4 months we stuck with 3 naps a day. If they were all crap naps then we did an early bedtime (as early as 5:30).

He takes somewhere between three and four naps a day. The longest one, in the afternoon, tends to be about an hour long. But I'm so glad to see so many other Moms dealing with this because I thought I was doing something wrong!!!

T is 4 months and it depends on the day, but he always takes 3 naps and most days takes 4. Morning nap is usually 2-2.5 hrs and the rest are the dreaded 40 minute nap (or the even more dreaded 20 minute nap).

3-4 depending on how long they are. Right now we're 1hr 10min into a nap... the longest nap we've gotten without me holding her in 2 weeks!!!

@c.sassy: Yahoo! Right now, we are going on 2 hours, 10 minutes....in the swing...whatever!

@winniebee: That's funny - we are at the 2 hour, 10 minute mark right now, too!

@meredithNYC: I'm tempted to stop the swing (I know, I know, motion sleep is not good....) but I figure a long motion nap is better than a 40 minute motionless nap....

Yeah, if it's working then I would say definitely let it go! There is nothing better than a long morning nap, in my opinion - unless you have stuff to do, in which case it can become a little annoying.

@meredithNYC: He's officially been napping 3 hours in his swing. Grunting and smiling and I know he's getting up soon. This is by far his longest nap in 3 weeks.

Mine was taking 3 naps at that time. 2-1 hr and 1-2 hr nap.

Usually 3 at that age and then a solid 2 starting at 6m. There's a sleep regression in most babies around 4m that can affect naps and make them super short.
