Bumping this thread in light of the rent/mortgage as a percent of income thread!
We have 4 rooms, if I'm being generous to our happy little hovel. Two bedrooms and the combo kitchen/great room/living/dining area (I define "room" to mean "has a door or doorframe"). I guess the laundry closet could be another one because you can walk in and close the door from inside? (But why would you ever do that?) We've also got a postage-stamp balcony where we can sit and watch all our neighbors in uncomfortably close proximity!

Our house has 6.5 rooms...the .5 is our half-bath, which is a teeny 4'x5'.

Ummmm our apartment has 6 rooms I suppose. 2 bedrooms (one of which is an office right now), living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom.

Where I live they count the number of rooms, but exclude the kitchen/baths. With the eat-in kitchen we have 6 rooms. I should add that our entry hallway is larger than my first NYC apartment!

4 bedrooms (we use one as an office right now), 2 full baths, kitchen, dining room, laundry room/mudroom, formal living room, living room - so 11 plus an attic and garage.

We have:
Living room/dining room
Kitchen
3 bedrooms
2 bathrooms
So that is 7. The living room/dining room and kitchen are all very open so feels more like one big room! When we finish our basement we will have another bathroom, a big rec room and 2 more bedrooms.

We have ten. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen, open concept living/dining room, family room, and a large utility/laundry/workshop room. Our garage takes up part of the basement, too, but I don't consider it a "room" -- although garage-to-bedroom conversions are quite popular in this area so it could probably become one if it really ever became necessary.
