Almost 2600. It is a good size for us right now.

A little over 1,300. The bedrooms are big, which is nice, but the layout isn't great. I'd love to have more than one bathroom and more living room space, but I know that if we had another bedroom, we would probably never use it.

At 1100 sq. ft., it's an okay size but we have no storage space.

1000ish. It WORKS for our family but we will be much more comfortable in a larger home. Luckily we are moving in a couple of years.

About 2600, it's a good size for us!

We have 3400 square feet, including the basement. We have four bedrooms for 2 adults and one child. We plan to have another child at some point, and one is a dedicated guest room. I like all the space, but sometimes wish it was distributed differently. We have a really massive living room that's kind of awkward and a formal dining room that I could live without. But the kid bedrooms are small and I would love to have an actual laundry room instead of a laundry closet.

A little over 3000 of living plus a nice 2 car garage (it is extra wide for storage in addition to 2 vehicles and that helps us a lot)...

It is a good sized house for us. I don't feel like it's huge - we have 10 foot ceilings so it "looks" big and open until you live in it for a while, haha....We still have tons of toddler toys that get all over the place and I wish we had a big playroom, but that's very perfect world:) One of my very good friends/neighbors has a crazy house, about 4500 sf on the model they built, and they have a nice large playroom where all the toys build up and don't end up in their living room or all over the house. That is where they play usually so the disaster stays contained. It's like having a second Great Room just for toys with a seating area, but it's out of the way and just has bins and bins of toys.

I'm totally crushing on her play room:)

1200. Feels way too small.

3000 including our finished basement. I feel like it's too big and I'm not a huge fan of the layout.

Currently it is just my SO and I in a rented 650 sf condo which works for the moment. It is not a great layout (not enough closet space, small kitchen) but manageable. We are looking to move before our LO gets here in October and are considering renting a townhouse (+/- 1,200sf) for a year before we look at buying.

We're in a teeny 700sf rented condo. It works but I'd like more storage.. and not to have to send my laundry out.
The master is large, but the second bedroom is really small. The kitchen is a joke.

Our vacation home in NY was 1200sf and was perfect.

3000. It's fine for us. We have 4 bedrooms but we use 2 for an office and a playroom so if we have another we'll want more room. We plan on adding on to our family room and adding a loft over it that would serve as a playroom one day.

800 and it seems HUGE. Our last two places were 450 and 550. We can actually fit a queen bed and we have two bathrooms. It's the perfect size for us.

We're in a 750 sq ft apartment. We really like the size and layout, but I'd love another closet or two. It's a lot bigger than our last place! In an ideal world, I think we'd like 900-1000 and another bedroom.

@hotchildinthecity: we're the same way, but we only upgraded from about 600 sq ft. I can't imagine the feeling from 450 to 800!

1200sq ft and a finished basement. Totally adequate space, but we only have 2 bed and 1 bath. I wish it was 3 bed, 2 bath.

1900. Perfect, but only a 2 bed and we really need another bedroom.

We have a 1500sf condo. The bedrooms are small but the living room is huge and L-shaped, and we have lots of closet space for an apartment. We could turn the L into a third bedroom but right now it's T's play area.

1700 plus basement. I think it is a good size, sometimes a bit big. I find that we have less clutter and crap in the house compared to friends with bigger homes.

2660 (plus unfinished basement and oversize attached 2-car garage). It’s PLENTY of space; I wouldn't want more. I have a dedicated guest room and bathroom and a dedicated craft room. We could definitely live in a smaller space that was well laid out.

1850is. It is a good size but we need more room, aka get the basement finished. Once we finish the basement it will double.
