per kid. I'm making "surprise eggs" for my 3 year old and those dang little blind bags add up. But she at least will play with the little figures for hours..
how much are you spending per kiddo?

@sorrycharlie: can you explain blind bags? Lol not to thread jack

@sorrycharlie: what is a blind bag?
I'll probably spend about $20-$30 max.

I spent way too much last year. I'm hoping to keep it under $100 for all three this year.
grapefruit / 4649 posts
Probably around $50. I have two t-shirts she will love, a sand toy set and some hair bows and have spent about $32. I will grab a few other little things to round it out like bubbles and a special snack or two.
kiwi / 696 posts
Probably $5. My husband and I have agreed to jelly beans and s chocolate bunny only.

@Applesandbananas: @ALV91711: those youtube videos lol - my daughter is ob-sessed. easiest potty training ever, she got one at the end of every line of stickers!
eggplant / 11824 posts
Probably less than $20. LO will get an Easter basket from both my mom and MiL and likely also one from her godmother who we will be visiting on Easter. Few blind bags, probably a little bracelet or necklace, bit of candy
pomelo / 5621 posts
@sorrycharlie: I never knew that is what they were called. Those can add up but are lots of fun!

DS is about to be 18 months. I bought 4 board books here and there on sale and will add in an unopened wooden train from his birthday. I'll also give him a little bag of Easter colored mini marshmallows (he's obsessed with the white ones already) as Easter candy. I also bought him some organic fruit snacks and I'll throw in a canister of puffs. Oh, and some Pooh and Eeyore toothbrushes I got on sale. So probably about $25?
hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts
@ALV91711: they have tons at target, about 2.49/each. I got 3 jumbo eggs for $4, so I'm going to just stuff them. Maybe a blind bag in each, a couple tsum tsum things, stickers, etc. The tsum tsums were B2G1 at target, so I got 3 packages for $10. Probably save one for behavior reward or bribery but good deal regardless!
cantaloupe / 6885 posts
Not much. Maybe $15-20. We will just be getting back from Disney World and she will have had way too much money spent on her there, haha.
GOLD / wonderful pomegranate / 28905 posts
Probably max $25 each. Getting them a pair of matching spring jammies, a book, then a few small items / snacks
GOLD / kiwi / 605 posts
the first Easter I probably spent $60+ on stuff and she was like 5 months old.... I was extra excited and went overboard!!
Last year I maybe spent $20 and she really could care less! This year I'll probably stick with around the same amount- we re-use our baskets so I don't have that expense- I'll probably put a couple eggs in it and then some chocolate.
cantaloupe / 6669 posts
Well, we had two gifts from Christmas that didn't get opened so I decided to save them for Easter - the Sneaky Snacky Squirrel Game & a Mr. Potato Head. I have also gotten her a spring themed plate, cup and fork (about $6 total from Target).
I want to get a book and a stuffed bunny. We'll do a chocolate bunny and candy in plastic eggs. That SHOULD be it but I am eyeing some other stuff!
I also really want to get her a little IKEA table & chair and put her basket on there Easter morning.

Since I'm planning on giving mostly books, I'd like to spend between $20-30. I would like to avoid giving him lots of candy.
honeydew / 7622 posts
Last year I spent more. About $30. This year e are traveling so I'm giving her a book and a small gift- about $20 total.

Probably around $30. DD isn't even two yet so she doesn't get it. We bought her three new board books and some sidewalk chalk to put in there. I'll probably also add in a snack she likes.
pear / 1521 posts
DD has no clue (12 months) and I'm seriously trying to cut back on spending so I'm not sure I'm going to even do anything, but if so probably try to keep it to $10 or so.
grapefruit / 4903 posts
I collected things when they were on sale, but I think all in it'll have been around $40. They're each getting:
Personalized beach towel: $7
HA hats: $4
Patron saint magnet: $4
Disney blu-ray: $11
Bubble gun: $2
2 books: $10-15
I reuse their baskets and plastic eggs each year.

Umm, when is Easter?? I haven't even thought about their baskets! I'd say we probably end up doing around $40-50 apiece, which is way too much but DH and I both love giving gifts.

I just bought an Easter basket for DS this weekend. He will only be 8 months so I'm giving him a small wind up toy, truck and some puffs.
When he gets older I only plan to include candy. We never got gifts in our baskets growing up. When did Easter become such a big gift holiday? Or was I just missing out as a kid??

@Pancakes: end of March, it's early this year!

Up to $100
So far we have a Merida doll (from the bogo plush sale), a mini porcelain tea set and a new book.

@Pancakes: early this year! March 25ish?? I know, it's coming up fast!
eggplant / 11408 posts
@mediagirl: we're doing plush dolls, too!
I'm not sure. We're going to give her a few plush princess dolls, because "pin-cesses" are all the rage in our house right now. Add in a few pieces of candy, and the books we gave her last year ( ), and we'll be good.
So maybe $50? Or less. Depends on the dolls. I have no idea what I'll do for DH, though.

@Bluemasonjar: we didn't even get candy as kid!
my husband's family did candy and maybe a stuffed bunny when they were little
coconut / 8472 posts
Maybe $20? DS is only 2 so he doesn't need much candy. Easter isn't really a big gift giving holiday to me. We bought him a little Easter themed stuffed puppy today and some candy that will double as potty training treats. I'll also repurpose some stuff from last year, lol.

I've never heard of big easter presents before HB! Ours were always just candy and that's what we do for LO too...
nectarine / 2180 posts
@LovelyPlum: @mediagirl: Yikes! That's right after DD1's birthday. No idea what we'll do this year.
pomegranate / 3872 posts
Probably around $75 for lo. The swimsuit brings the total up. I do a joint basket for dh and me, just with candy or little things - around $20 because I go to the good chocolate shop.
eggplant / 11408 posts
@Bluemasonjar: @Mrs Green Grass: I don't know that I think Easter is for super big presents. I'm mostly in it for the jelly beans after a long Lent of no sweets
As kids, we usually got a book or movie, maybe some fun costume jewelry, and candy. We are getting her those plush dolls because she's taken to wanting princesses a lot. Her birthday is 2 weeks later,so I'm pretty much breaking up the gifts I would be getting her then anyways. I just like the fun of the basket!
@jerricabenton: ooh, good idea on the joint basket! DH would just be happy with a basket full of Reese Eggs, anyways!
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts
I haven't even thought about it! It won't be much because she isn't eating yet and doesn't need any stuffed animals or toys. Maybe I'll find an Easter themed book and get some puffs or something since she'll be starting solids a couple weeks later.
hostess / wonderful persimmon / 25556 posts
@sorrycharlie: okay, so those things make me think of really expensive McDonald's toys. I am keeping M far, far away from YouTube. As long as possible.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
Probably too much, but the majority of their baskets are things they will need: new swim suits, sun hats, crocs. The rest (book, hot wheels, treats) will all be <$15 per kid.
