We just got back from our two week doctors appointment. When we left the hospital I was told the expectation was for him to be back at his birth weight. He surpassed that by 9 ounces! I guess I'm just curious if that's average/high?

By 2 weeks , My LO gained 8 oz from her birth weight and 15 oz from the weight she left the hospital at! They grow so fast!

She was back at her birth weight + 5oz by two weeks. So tiny then!

My LO only baaaaaaaaaaaarely made it back to her birth weight by 2 weeks!

LO was 8 lbs 1 ounce at birth. She dropped to 7 lbs 5 ounces and weighed 8 lbs 5 ounces at 2 weeks!

LO is 11 days old and has just surpassed her birth weight! She was down over 10% after day 2.

12 ounces over birth weight, 21 ounces over his weight at 4 days! (He was down from 7 lbs to 6 lbs 8 ounces at 4 days).

Yeah I think it can range depending on how they are fed, at what age they are born, etc. I want to say that my son was at least a pound and maybe more over his birth weight by two weeks. He passed like *all* of his meconium before he was born and was a voracious nurser so I think those two things contributed.

Our 6-pounder regained the 7.5 percent she lost by 5 days, and at today's appointment (12 days old), we learned that in the last week, she gained 11 more!

She was back to her birth weight and had gained an extra 5 ounces.

She was an ounce shy of her birth weight. We had TONS of feeding issues though.

He didn't get weighed at 2 weeks but my guess would be that he gained at least 16 ounces by then. He gained almost 4 lbs his first month.

my baby had also surpassed by birth weight withing a week after she was born. By two weeks she had gained over a pound on top of her birth weight

She had surpassed her birth weight by about 8 oz.
