@sunny: I've been using 7th gen since we stopped cd'ing and love it. hmmm maybe I should look into that if it would be $30 cheaper.

@sunny: yeah I love both brands! I guess I was thinking Honest was cheaper but I never tried to add it all up lol

@anonysquire: Several reasons. If you had met me a year ago I was SO gung-ho YES cloth is best I WILL do it! I was so excited and so committed. I even got my sister into it! If I was told that 7 months into it I would be quitting, I wouldn't have believed it.
So know that I took the decision VERY seriously.

I invested a lot of money into CD'ing. I bought a whole stash of Fuzzibunz and loved them... until I put them on my week old son and he developed blistering rashes on his bottom. We had to switch back to sposies. Then we tried again at 4 weeks and he was doing better, we still had to apply cream to his bottom.
Then his diapers were leaking like crazy. We kept trying to readjust the diapers and experimented with multiple size settings... nothing worked. We used some hemp inserts, still leaked. I was so confused.

So we sprung to buy a whole NEW CD system, and sold some of the FB's. Well, we come to find that this new system leaked too. OMG I was SO frustrated and upset.

We ended up spending $700 on cloth diapering because we couldn't find anything that worked for us. And that was just one frustration.

DS's clothes didn't fit right, he was getting multiple rashes, I had to do laundry every day and now that we have moved to an apartment building with a community laundry room and have to pay for laundry... I just cannot justify it anymore. The $1 to wash $1 to dry would make CD'ing more expensive than sposies with how much I've invested into it already.

FWIW I LOVED bumgenius and they were the only pocket diaper I tried that didn't leak. I had only two and not enough $$ to buy a whole new system. The GroVia AI2 system didn't leak either (but the AIO's did) and neither did the prefolds/covers system.

I had a mish mash of diapers but it turned out to be too expensive and not worth the frustration. I really, really wish it could have worked because I think I could have loved it.
