I live in CA and I have a 2012 car that I bought last fall. Just received my registration renewal and it is $218.
Just curious what other people pay!

Around $70 for a year. You can register for up to three years at once here. I live in Texas too.

That's it? I live in CA too, we bought a truck in 2010 and ours for this year is $411! My 2009 car was around $250 I think? We also have a third car hubby uses for work but that registration is cheap because it's an older car.

Is it bad that I have absolutely no clue? Growing up when that kind of stuff came I always gave it right to my dad, and then I moved in with my then BF, now husband, and he handles all of that for me. I've never even taken my car for it's oil change. Shame.

I have no idea. It gets lumped in with insurance which is $1400 for my 2009 Accent.

When I was in ca my registration was close to $500. I had an slk55. In GA it was less than 400.
I think my Prius was under $200.. Which includes my speciality plate.

We're in Kansas and to register our 3 vehicles (2011 Camry, 2005 Impala, 1997 Jeep Cherokee) it cost us $679.03 for one year.

@eiko2010: I used to live in PA. My registration might be more in WA but I am somewhat happy I don't have to get my car inspected each year. Although, here in WA, I wish we did have inspections because I have seen some rather shady and possibly unsafe cars. We do have emissions test done every other year but that only cost us $15.

@bluestriped bee: Yeah, what we lack in registration fees, we make up in paying for yearly inspections and emissions testing. So if you add that it, it comes out to around $120/year.

I am in GA and for my 09 Accord it was over $370. DH's 03 Infiniti was $165. Stupid AD Volorem fees. We also each had to pay $25-$35 for emission test before you can even apply for renewal.
