How much spotting before BFP?

I had light brown spotting that lasted less than 24 hours about 6 days before AF was due (not sure of DPO). My normal is to spot a few days before AF, so I thought it was game over, but I got a BFP 3 days after AF was due. Good luck! I'm really hoping this is it for you!

Apparently AF is like fight club... I post about it and she arrives. Such is life. Sucks, as always, but trying to look on the positive side of things! We should be able to try naturally now in June (I'll be back from out of town in time) and maybe, if were lucky, get an IUI in for July. Not confident about the timing though so we'll see!

Not only did AF finally show up but apparently Clomid makes her arrive in the fullest of all flows! FML.

@LindsayInNY: sorry girl clomid made my normally light periods seem like a murder scene. It really is awful

@Mrs. Jump Rope: OMG, yes. Usually the first day to two is heavy. I went through a super plus tampon in less than two hours. NOT COOL AF, NOT COOL. The RE's office happened to call this morning and she seemed to indicate this might be normally. I sure hope it slows down soon...

@LindsayInNY: mine didn't. It was awful. I've been bleeding this whole pregnancy & they keep asking if the flow is like a period. It's like MY period (so light!!) but not the kind of period they're thinking of.

My clomid periods really were like a murder scene for 7 days straight. I maybe had a flow for 3-4 days before. And then I just STOPPED. No tapering off or lightening flow. I went from murder scene to nothing overnight.

@Mrs. Jump Rope: Awesome... So I'm basically going to be going to the bathroom every hour to check on things. New job is going to think I'm crazy (well...).

It's okay... I think I'm past the "down on myself every single cycle" phase? I don't even know if I genuinely get my hopes up anymore. I get upset just before AF and then seem to move on and focus on whatever positives are in my life at the time... For this cycle, 1. I don't have to tell a new boss/job that I'm pregnant right after starting and 2. I can go to our early February conference in Orlando since I just bypassed a January 28 EDD.

ETA: And 3., I can finish the bottle of Prosecco sitting in my fridge

@LindsayInNY: I've got a bottle of cab sitting in front of me right now as I type. I realized my periods on clomid are super weird, huge flow for 2 days and then nothing! I did not have to change anything today whereas the past 2 days, I had to go to the restroom every 2 hours or so, and I had both a tampon and overnight pad just in case (which I also had to change). Sorry if TMI. Do enjoy that prosecco of yours!

@LindsayInNY: sorry AF has made her appearance. I'm in the same waiting game... I thought SURE I was pg this cycle & have been holding out to test tomorrow @ 12dpo when DH is back in town, but have seen just a bit of brown spotting today Generally this is my normal before AF, but I just have to hold out hope until I get a clear sign of either AF or a BFP tomorrow. This stinks...

I know that for both of you spotting before AF is par for the course, so it makes it seem like you are out, but for what it's worth, I also always spotted before AF, so when I started spotting 8DPO last month I figured I was out. I even stopped taking my progesterone supplements because I didn't want to delay the inevitable. Well, I was kicking myself four days later when I still was spotting and AF never started and I decided to test and got a BFP! Now I'm almost 8 weeks, and all seems to be going well.

@LindsayInNY: thanks for asking; & thank you so much for sharing @LAZB: it helps a lot to know what others' experiences have been--especially the positive ones!! I am still in limbo. Tested at 11dpo after all & this a.m. @ 13 dpo, both bfn on FRERs. Spotting seems to have subsided today, so I'm trying to swing back to positive thinking & hope that maybe I just implanted later & hcg levels are just still too low to catch. The waiting is killing me! I'd LOVE for this to be my cycle, but I'm trying not to get my hopes up if they'll just be dashed in a day. And if this ISN'T my month, then I'd love to just get on with the next cycle. I need to relax for sure... I don't want to be a crazy person.

@LAZB: @GoGoSnoGirl: My chemical cycle, I spotted pre-AF, which is why I never know whether it's good or bad anymore! I went for my annual exam and even commented to my ob/gyn that I was likely out that cycle. She noticed the spotting inside during the exam too. Well, 2-3 days later and I had my (short lived) BFP.

@LindsayInNY: I can totally appreciate you reading into the observations with your history as context. I spotted for quite a while with my 1st + (though not until after I got the BFP at 10dpo), & ultimately mc @ 6wks, so I too worry about my previous experience. And even if I do get a BFP this cycle I'll worry it didn't show early enough & that THAT is cause for worry. Uggh. So much to overanalyze!

@GoGoSnoGirl: I automatically assume that spotting means I'm out but yet that wasn't the case last time. So then I wonder if no spotting will mean good things? And usually then I just throw my hands up and let whatever happens happen!
