This party is for a girl in my daughter's daycare class. I don't know her parents but we think we will go anyways since it should be a good time for M.

We usually stick to $15-20 (or less if I find a good deal!) for friends that aren't close friends.

@mediagirl: Also... I definitely say go. We went out on a limb and invited a few families from M's class to her birthday party and I'm SO glad we did. We connected really well with two of the couples and now we hang out all the time. It was a great way to make new parent friends.

I did two passes to the children's museum at $15 each. We've gone to daycare parties and my son has a BLAST! He's with his friends, he runs up and they all group hug,
Now I am thinking of doing gift that contains SpotIt, a pack of story book cards and some dry erase alphabet things, because I am having trouble coming up with something in the $20 price range.

We love daycare birthday parties! I usually spend about $15 using coupons. So something that retails around $20 or $25. For Wagon Jr.'s last birthday (4th) one friend just got him a water bottle that couldn't have cost more than $10, but I did not mind at all. One kid didn't bring a present at all and RSVPed the morning of... but honestly, I didn't mind that much about that either.

@MamaMoose: thanks! It's hard for us right now because we know we are changing daycare centers in July. M seems to like this little girl, though so I want her to go to her party and hope some of the other daycare kids come too!
@mrs. wagon: can you find me this somewhere I can use a coupon, my frugal friend? http://amzn.to/1bLDaW9

@mediagirl: So I gave myself 10 mins and the best I could come up with is if you bought at kmart or sears with ebates and a $5 off $50 (sears) or $45 (kmart) if you needed to buy anything else. I'm always buying carter's sleepers from sears so that's what I'd do. Both sears and kmart have their own points programs too. But if you are looking to purchase only that toy, amazon is gonna be your best bet! Especially because the toy is priced at almost $30 at both sears and kmart.
If you have any random gift cards, a lot of retailers sell this toy... including staples, newegg, and wayfair.
I'd go with the amazon seller with the lowest price with shipping, which looks like AllPartsGrills at $20.27.
