I get 3 weeks per year but I try to only take 2 and carry one forward! That way when I have a baby I'll have extra time off

Pre kids, we tried to take 1 big trip a year. And a lot of weekend trips throughout the year. We lived in Asia when our son was born. But we still traveled with him especially after deciding to move back to the states. It was so easy to zip around for long weekends there. Now my son is quite difficult on flights plus we have our second kid, so our traveling might slow down a little. We still fly to NY often to visit family but that's not really vacation traveling. We'll see, we do love to travel though.

We take atleast 2 long trips (10 days each) a year Disney world and Hawaii. 6 hour flights to each and the kids do well. We try to sneak another trip in there, we went to NY but it was part work part vacation. Vacation for hubs and kids and I worked 3 says while I was out there. Hubs has 9 weeks vacation each year so we do some weekend trips to Vancouver as well.

Pre-kid, I enjoyed 5 weeks of paid vacation a year. Once a year we would travel to the US for two weeks, to a destination for two weeks and use the other week for buffer on weekend trips.

In 2011, with our son, we flew to the US twice for a total of 5 weeks and I went with DS to Italy for a week on the beach. I wanted to go to London this month, but we couldn't get tickets for the DaVinci exhibit, so we kind of forgot about it. I would like to go to Barcelona in April, we'll see.

I get 4 weeks and must use 'em or lose 'em. Caveat - I can use any accrued vacation for additional paid maternity leave, during that year.

We always take at least a week in the summer and spend it at DH's family's lakehouse. Lately we have been taking a second week in the summer and spending it at the beach with my family. We also always take the week after Christmas off to relax and spend time with our families. The 4th week we usually take in February or March and try to go somewhere fun or cool. This year, the cool vacation isn't happening because of my husband's work schedule and I'm trying to save time for maternity leave.

I have a total of 14wks per year. (I teach Ga Pre-K) THAT is one perk I get, especially since I can't stay home with Baby Bear. Usually vacation is a cruise in the summer.

I get 4 weeks a year and my DH is a teacher, so he has summers off, spring and winter breaks. It's always hard for me to take the full 20 days off because we also get 5 Fridays off in the summer and the week between Christmas and New Year's off. I usually carry over 10 days--I lost 4 days this year.

We usually do one big trip and a couple of 3-day trips a year. Last year we did New Orleans (for a wedding), Hollywood, FL, and Orlando, FL. But I don't count the two Florida trips as vacation since it was visiting my bff & new godson and my DH's family.

I do days off here and there to relax at home. I hope we are able to do vacations after the baby gets here!

I have 3 weeks paid time off each year, but its hard to use it (and at least I can carry most of it over if I can’t use it).
We usually take a week around Christmas and a week in the summer and go on vacation. The Christmas trip is always out to CA to see my husband’s family, so that’s a little more “duty” and a little less “vacation”, although we have tons of fun out there.

Last year we took a 2 week European cruise, which was the most time at once I’d ever taken – in my whole working history!

We also take Fridays/Mondays throughout the year and go for long weekends in places like NYC, New Orleans, Newport (RI), Canada, etc.

My company just changed their policy, I used to be able to carry now it is use or lose, so it is going to be a huge adjustment. I get 5 weeks paid vacation/personal time and my company shuts down the last week of the year now. So really 6 weeks, which is huge! I think we are planning to do a beach house this summer and a cruise in November. I like long weekends so I am going to try to do monday and/or fridays off for the summer

Starting this year, I get 3 weeks paid vacation (up from 2 weeks), the only problem is, I have to use all of that on my maternity leave (plus my sick time) if I want to get paid. So, I won't have any additional vacation after I come back from maternity leave.

Usually, we use all of ours and then some.

I get 2 weeks paid vacation and I use all of it, but much of that is travelling to see our families who are in two different states, so I don't count that. We try to do one big trip a year. 2010 it was our honeymoon to Charleston, SC. 2011 was Florida. This year, we're going to California, but shhh! It's a birthday surprise for DH

We've never been able to take a lot of vacations. My husband has crohns, so all his days are used for sick days. He had surgery though so hopefully that will change. But I have migraines so he often has to use his days to take care of the baby when I can't. We usually will just take a long weekend and have a little vacation.

My husband gets 4 weeks paid vacation time plus he accumulates a lot of extra paid time off because he always has to work on holidays. We usually take one or two "big" vacations a year and lots of little 2 or 3 day trips as well. The big vacation is usually 1 back home to the states and then 1 somewhere relaxing, last time was Maldives. We try to take small trips to see other parts of Japan or to other places in Asia that are close and easy to get to from tokyo.

I get 3 weeks paid and I usually get the last week in December off.
