Did they just make a quick visit? I'm likely going to have a RCS, which will probably come with a 3-4 day stay. I'm wondering how much he should visit.
How much did your older LO visit?

DD1 never ended up coming. I was only there for 24 hours and it was during the week so she was at daycare.

@regberadaisy: that's awesome. I'm hoping for just 3 days but we'll see!

I was in the hospital Friday night (after Xander's bedtime) to Sunday afternoon. Xander visited on Saturday for maybe an hour?

E visited J the day after his birth for a few hours. He was picked up by my parents at his daycare and then brought to the hospital before spending a few days with them. E loved the hospital for the gloves and milk in the fridge.

She ended up coming twice I think. Once right after the birth and helped us get up to the room (so cute to have her push the button to sing the song and push the bassinet with help). And then I think another time when family came they brought her up.

I was only there about 30 hours. He came to visit in the late morning of the day she was born and stayed for about an hour, and then I was home the next afternoon.

I checked in at 1am Friday, baby was born at 3pm Friday. We were there until noon on Sunday. Older LO came for a couple hours Saturday morning.

I was there 5 days, 4 nights. DS1 was 2.5 at the time. He came pretty much every day, for between 30min-1hr.

Just one quick visit, I was only there for 2 nights though and the hospital is an hour away.

They came for lunch and stayed maybe two hours. I was home the next day. Both times RCS.

LO was 2.5 years old, and I had a 2 day hospital stay. On the first day, FIL brought LO to meet the baby, and they stayed for most of the day. We had to kick them out after dinner. It was a pleasant visit, and LO was really excited. My FIL just didn't know where to go or what to do, and that's why he stayed for so long. The next day they came to visit again, and this time it was only for a few hours. Our situation was very unusual.

I had a C-section, and my mom picked him up from school and brought him to visit an hour or so after I was settled in my room. It was important to D that E be the first one to meet her. He probably stayed maybe 45 minutes?
Someone brought him to visit every day we were there (3 days), and he was there between half an hour and an hour every time (he liked to push her rolling bassinet around the ward).

3 hours, both days I was in the hospital. Basically, he stayed until he got bored and grumpy. In hindsight, we should have throught to bring stuff for him to do (an activity book, etc.).

Just a quick visit--maybe 30 minutes. My mom brought her, so there was no need for her to stay longer.

I checked in at 1 pm on a Tuesday, DS2 was born at 10 pm. T visited me the next morning for a bit...on Wednesday. I was discharged by like 11 am on Thursday so we didn't bother with a visit that day. It felt like plenty from a visiting perspective, though of course I missed him.

I was only at the hospital for 24 hours or less for each delivery. Younger siblings visited once, for about 2 hours.

I am planning to have LO stay at the hospital in the family suite with us after L&D. Key word- planning. If it isn't working out, we'll have backup plans, if nothing else, DH can take LO1, but right now, that's the plan! We've never been apart.

DS visited twice when I stayed two nights. DS and DD visited once when I stayed one night with my third.

DD1 was 2 1/2 years old and because of a RCS she came and visited every day sometimes 2x a day, I didn't want to not see her for 3-4 days. She LOVED the hospital due to the hospitality room with free ice cream, snacks, and milk cartons but she did have a rough time seeing me in the bed/connected to IV. once I was off of it (I begged my nurse to let me get it out early) and I would sit in the chair instead of the bed when she came so I looked more normal.

A was born around 5pm on Tuesday. My ILs brought D (3 years old) over to the hospital Wednesday morning for about an hour. We went home Thursday and my ILs brought him back home around dinner time. He went to daycare on Friday so Hubs and I could settle in at home with the baby.

She was 2.5 when baby brother was born and came the whole time DH was there the day after the c-section and the day we went home. Nightmare. Think ice chips all over the floor and her running off down corridors every two minutes. I highly recommend short visits if you can swing it.

I think we'll be staying at the hospital for 2 days, so he'll probably come visit before and after daycare each day, similar to when he visited me when I was admitted a couple weeks ago for dehydration.
