We have a TON of books that we own but I love mixing it up with library books. I go every few weeks to pick out a handful of new books to read at bedtime.
How often do you get kids books at the library?

I check out 30 every 6 weeks. We still go in between just to read, attend story time and play with puzzles.

@autumnlove: I didn't realize they would let you check out that many!
We don't go very often at all

I go every two weeks. We get a ton because my DD has required reading every night for homework. I also love putting requests in for books online so I can just swing by and pick those up rather than spending a lot of time in the library. We do go to browse too, though.

Our limit is 120...ridiculous HAHA I try to keep it around 10, otherwise I would be scared to lose one. We go every 1-2 weeks to switch out, it's a reward for good behavior in our house.

At our library, the board books are on the honor system -- you don't have to check them out, you're just supposed to return them when you're done. We just started getting books recently and we'll probably switch them out every week or two.

I'm a teacher and I have an LO on the way, but I go every 3-6 weeks for my classroom library and get as many as I can hold, usually around 20. Our library also lets us borrow a TON of books at a time - I think 150!

About once a month, borrow books, read them until due date, then go back. Used to go to weekly story time, but kids started school and it's during school time.
