Extended family in the state every couple of years. The ones out of state I somewhat recently went to visit for the first time in my life.

MIL comes over twice a week, FIL comes over every other week. And we see aunts, uncles, cousins maybe once every other month?

My dad's entire family is in Taiwan, so once every 3 years or so.
My mom's family is scattered across the country, and the last time we were all together was my wedding, 5 years ago!!

Most of my family, weekly. My sister lives in NY but I still see her sometimes once a month, sometimes a little less often.

We see DH's extended family on his dad's side at least once a month usually because they live nearby. Everyone else we see pretty sporadically because they're all over the country.

My parents - every. single. day. (We mass commute together)
His parents - once every other month, if that. They are not very involved in our lives.
Brother - like 2x a year. He lives across the country.
Other relatives - a few times a year, holidays and such.

I see one branch on my dad's side every year, since my cousin and his family own a ski condo in the town where my parents live. The rest of my dad's family I see once every few years. The last time was in July 2011 for a wedding. I will likely see them all again in May 2013 (another wedding).
My mom's side of the family is huuuuge. I saw my grandma & some of my aunts & uncles in August of this year, and some I haven't seen in 5+ years. Honestly I am closest with and see most often my aunts/uncles that my mom is close with.

My family, maybe once a year. DH's family-way too much. haha! We see his dad at least once a month, which is ok. His mom comes out a couple of times a year, which is too much for me. I can handle her for about a day and then I'm done.

@highwire: Do you wish you could see them more, or are you perfectly fine with things the way they are? How far away are they?

Almost never! Wish everyone lived closer but our families are scattered across the US, Canada, Europe and Asia.

DH's family we see a couple times a year - they live in NY.
We see my family pretty often, at least once a month but usually more. I used to have dinner at my parents house once a week before I had DS!

@boiledpnut: We have one "clan" in Texas (my mom/dad/aunt/uncle/grandma) and everyone else is pretty much in New York. I hate that we don't see each other that often, but that also means that when we do see each other, it is always pleasant and we are all excited and happy to be together. So, it works out okay.

Ehhh, it kind of depends. My extended family on my dad's side all live in-state and close by, however, I was never suuuper close with any of them (I'm the oldest out of the cousins by...8 or 9 years). We usually see each other at major holidays/weddings/etc. My mom's side is a little tricky. One of her sister's lives in Nepal, and the other lives in CO; we'll usually see each other over the summers.
