I got mine in 2009 and it's still works like brand new!

Got mine in 2008. While it does still work quite well, the battery is dead and it's not compatible with the most current os, it also isn't compatible with a printer that I just got. Time to upgrade!

I got my MacBook Air in 2011. I am noticing that it is a bit slower than before.

April 2008. I've had to replace battery and it's slowed a lot...5000+ pics on my iPhoto!

Mine is from 2010. I don't use it much anymore because my work software only works on PCs.

I got mine the year I graduated college, so 2006. It needs a new battery, has software that doesn't support anything, and is slow as molasses, but it does work. My husband's is from 2008, and works perfectly still, though it does need upgraded software. We keep our desktop Mac in the most upgraded/ working condition since it's our iPhones' lifeline.

2008 or 2009? It is a hand me down from my husband but I love it. Thankfully the biggest issue at this point is it takes forever to start back up if you let the battery die.

I think like 2 years old. Its a macbook air. I love it.
I had a really old macbook that i handed down to my sister and she says it still works fine!

Mine's like the vintage white one haha; I definitely have had it for 4+ years! It's not working as well as it used to, but it's lasting much longer than any PC laptops I've had!

Still using mine and I bought it in 2007.
DH's MacBook is 2-3 years old.

@BananaPancakes: I put more memory in my MacBook and it made it so much quicker.

@.twist.: Same! I got mine in 2008. It works good, but I've had to replace the battery because it wouldn't hold a charge, and there are a few things that I can't use because the OS is too old. We really need to upgrade, but I'm pretty sure I can't live without a mac and it's not in the budget right now.

@Mrs. Blue: me too, sniff, sniff. i am just waiting for the day it fizzles on me...which i don't think it has a ton of life left in it.
6 years is a good life span on a laptop, in my opinion!

My MacBook Pro is a few days old we got it Tuesday. I love it.
ETA: I have an iBook from 2005 that still works. I've never met anyone with a laptop still functional after 9 years which is why I would never leave Apple

2009 I think? The track pad is screwy, now. though I did spill water on it. I have to take it to the Mac store and see if they can do anything about it. DH won't let me upgrade until it's ABSOLUTELY necessary.

@Mrs. Blue: ugh. Tell me about it. I keep trying to convince myself that it can be taken out of savings and then I scold myself because it's not a necessity! Wah! Haha that and my DH keeps giving me the side eye when I tell him my plans. Hahaha

I have a work issued one from 2010 and I *wish* it was still like new! The battery is fried and its soo slow. I use it all day every day though so perhaps that's why ...

I have a MacBook Air that I bought in 2011 I think? It was refurbished (by apple) and still works great.
My old white MacBook I bought in 2006 still works, but it will not charge the battery (I tried replacing it several times). I can still use it if it is plugged in though!

@lioneyes: how do you like the air? I can't decide whether I want an iMac or a MacBook Air...

Got my MacBook around 2008, upgraded the RAM and hard drive myself (with a little supervision/advice from the Genius Bar) and it still works great and is a lot faster! They are expensive initially, but you get what you pay for.

@.twist. i love it, but the hard drive fills up very quickly, so i have to save most photos and large files to an external drive.

Maybe 2009? It's one of the white ones. I use it every day & it's still going strong. My husband got an Air in 2012 & it still looks and works like it's brand new.
