I was 5!

hmm I don't remember.. maybe like 6? I honestly don't ever remember thinking he was real. I always thought he was fake. I remember being around 6 and wishing I believed in him!

When I was 7 I told a neighbour he wasn't real and her mom called my mom and I got in trouble! lol woops!

Sometime in elementary school a bully told me there was no Santa. It was a sad day. I think I was 7 or 8? When I got home, my mom told me all about the "magic" of Santa and that he is always alive in your heart as long as you believe.

Sometime in elementary school I realized that Santa's handwriting was exactly the same as my mom's handwriting

I think I was 7 or 8. I was always told that Santa came at midnight to deliver presents so I insisted on staying up that year. My mom let me stay up all the way until midnight and then told me the truth. Hmmm, I guess she didn't think I could actually stay awake until midnight?

I asked my mom if he was real when I was 6 or 7 and she said "do you really want to know?" And I said "yes," and then I was crushed...I remember wishing she had lied about it!

I was in 2nd grade. Our teacher told us. >:(

I never believed in santa.

@banana: omg me too! It was an accident though. mom thought she had made it clear the tooth fairy wasn't real (she hated the concept of lying to us), but somehow I missed that and totally believed in it. I was 8-9 when I found out and I was sooo heartbroken and SO mad at my mom. She felt absolutely horrid because it was an accident.

@banana: my mom got SO into it. She would write me letters from the tooth fairy, only she would have someone else write it so that I didn't recognize her handwriting!

@Mrs. Pen: That's so cute!!! My mom had no idea what the tooth fairy was (is it an American tradition?) so she kept taking my tooth and throwing it away when she was making my bed. She finally caught on eventually and went along with it. She got totally into it and started making up these long elaborate stories about the Korean tooth fairy. I always pictured mine with long, pretty blonde hair so she kinda killed my moment.

Very young. Young enough to where I don't remember ever really believing in him, but playing along because it was fun. I was the youngest of three kids though, so that could be why.

@boiledpnut: your teacher told you? that's so mean! I would be seriously pissed at my kids teacher for that!

I was six. My grandparents had dressed up like mr. And mrs. Claus since before I was born. They would come to our house on Christmas Eve. They did it for our church and all the Christmas parties I attended. So my Santa always looked the same. When I was six I told my mom Santa has a nose like my Pepe. (He had a very distinct nose)

She pulled me aside and told me that Santa is a representation of the spirit of giving and that my grandparents were very special and giving people. I remember being so excited. How many kids get to have Santa for heir grandpa!! They continued to come every year at Christmas. I have pictures with them in my twenties.

My parents are doing the same thing for my kids now and they love it.

I'm not sure I ever really believed he was real! I loved the whole thing and played along forever for my little bro and my parents, who are bigger kids when it comes to that stuff than us!

I knew right from the get go. My parents told me santa was a fun fictional character. I still liked going to see him at the mall, but my parents didnt make a big deal of santa and placed more emphasis on the birth of christ aspect

I must've been 6 because when I got a purple stroller from Santa when I was 5 and I asked my Dad how he knew that I wanted purple, my dad said that he had friends in the North Pole and I totally believed him.

I never believed in santa!
