If I call after 10am I usually have to wait until the next day - but sometimes they squeeze me in depending on my kids symptoms

I can usually get in same day if something is urgent.

I called yesterday at 8am got an appt for 11am. It is a big practice.

Ours does same day, almost immediately if there is a high fever. You just walk in and wait. It's a group practice with about 7 locations. We have 3 locations within a mile from our house--luckily, the newest (cleanest and least busy) location is only about 6 blocks from me, so I walk there with LO.

ETA: I love them mainly because they are open 7 days a week, until 9 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

I am not sure about our kids but if I need to get in to see my doctor, it's at least a month wait. The whole purpose is to go to a walk in clinic and see some random doctor who doesn't know me.

If we are willing to see a nurse practicioner (I like the NPs at our office, so I always am) it's usually within a couple hours. It would be quicker if we didn't have to book double appointments for twins!

My HMO is set up so you see someone same day. I've never asked to see LO's doctor specifically. We usually see someone mid-day if we call in the morning. Since we're just seeing someone for run of the mill daycare colds that has never bothered me. I love Saturday and Sunday sick appointments.

Same day, unless it's a Saturday. Then they just tell me that Saturday appointments are for emergencies only and if the symptoms get worse, go to the ER.

Same day, but it usually with a different doctor in the clinic. My ped is currently booked until March and will squeeze in emergencies only.

Usually within the next hour or so? For sick visits they have a policy that if you call in the morning you must come in the morning and if you want an afternoon appointment you have to call in the afternoon to make an appointment. That way the slots are not filled up because you can't call today to make a sick appointment tomorrow. I thought it was weird before but now I am used to it and it is actually quite good, because I feel that I can get appointment right away if needed.

Last time I called at 8:15am and we were in at 8:40am (just to double check if he had an ear infection)! I love how I can plan my day that way because I can then take LO to school before lunchtime.

But this is usually with a different doctor within the same clinic. Which I am cool with. I actually like some of the other docs than our own. hehe

We also are not crazy about our ped, but he provides email support, which is AWESOME (we emailed him for suggestions when we were in Iceland, literally in the middle of nowhere, and LO had hand foot and mouth), and the clinic is pretty nice, so we stayed.

Always same day. They try to get you in within a couple of hours, but if not, they always have "urgent" slots available between 6-7:30. It works out well if I can't get out of work to take her anyway.

ETA: It's a group practice, and the appointment could be with anyone.
