Our close friends are moving away (5 hours away). They have a 3 year old son. My daughter is so attached to him. She recently started telling us, "L is my best friend. I love him so much." That would make me so happy to hear if I didn't know that they were moving away.

They are moving in June. How do I explain to her that we won't see them again for a long long time and L won't be back to school anymore?

We don't really know that many people with kids her age so it's not like we can just start throwing her into play dates with other kids easily.
