I'm working on baby proofing since DS has gotten really mobile FAST. I'm looking for the best way to secure this IKEA bookshelf.
It's aluminum with a wire mesh in the surface of the shelf. It's not going to stay in front of the window as it is in the photo. I'm thinking about eye bolts in the wall and zip ties around the back posts. It won't be pretty but I just want it to be safe.
Any suggestions?

I had this shelf several years ago, so I can't remember how big the holes in the grid are. But you could use a metal L-bracket and bolt it to the wall and upper shelf. Alternatively, you could use a conventional cloth strap (IKEA gives them away for free) and a nut and bolt for the shelf. If you were open to drilling one if the holes bigger, you wouldn't have to look for a smaller gauge bolt.
