Hectic comes to mind but I can almost agree with the prison analogy. Just when I started feeling comfortable with how old LO was and started wanting to get him out and about more, I was well into my second trimester with my youngest. So during much of the second year I was dealing with a newborn and a toddler! I'm not Super Mom, as much as I'd like to be, so I mostly stayed home until DD hit 6 months. Even now at 2 and 1, we're still mostly home bound but it's getting easier to get us all out and about!

I'm still in my first year, but so far it's a wild ride. I don't feel like I'm "in prison" because we have big families who are always offering to watch DS so that we can have date nights and alone time, but it's definitely the hardest, most rewarding, tiring, and exciting job I've ever had! I never thought I would love being a mom this much, but it does have its fair share of challenges.

Painful (I broke my back bending when she was newborn! And learning to breastfeed...!) exhausting, little stressful, joyful, life-changing (in a good way- I think it has made me a better person in many ways), fulfilling.

Survival. You're just trying to survive one phase before the next one comes.

I thought it was hard just in the first 6 months. Even then, it doesn't seem that bad looking bad. I'm bracing myself for the tween and teen years though. Is is too soon to worry about?

A learning experience?

It isn't prison. I still do what I want, it's just timed around the tiny persons schedule.

hahahaah. I was just telling some friends that I was still my DD's prisoner after 3+ years.
The first 2 years of parenthood were good.
Exhausting at times, but so rewarding.
