Shocked and freakishly excited! This is our 9th month ATTC and I just had bloodwork this morning to see if I'm even ovulating at all (I'm guessing that I'm not).

Absolutely horrified. With 5.5 month old and not even being sure we want another, it would be awful. This is part of the reason I'm having a hard time getting back into the groove with my husband. Luckily, I'm getting Mirena soon. but I am so nervous about it right now.

i honestly would be ok with it, even with a 5 month old. i want my kids close in age(not that close, but me and my brother are 1 year 12 days apart and it was nice)...but it wouldn't be happening right now as AF is here lol so THAT would be a shocker haha

add me to the list of virgin marys! even if i somehow was, I would sob and sob. I'm still battling postpartum hormones and I'm already so sad about her getting big that I wouldn't want to imagine her not being my baby anymore!!

I would be a tiny bit stressed since our LO is only Four and a half months, but it wouldnt be the end of the world. I dont think there is ever a bad time for a baby, we would just make it work.

I know DH would be happy, but I would be incredibly stressed. We have NO money or time for a baby right now. I'm gearing up to study for the CPA exam. Baby right now = bad timing.
Even though a part of me has baby fever and really wants kids right now, I know that we in no way, shape, or form would be able to handle it!!

@highwire: It's EXTREMELY rare but apparently possible. I am no scientist so take what I say with a grain of salt but it has happened before where women have been pregnant with two babies that were conceived at different times.

Considering where we are in the TTC process, I might cry thinking about how much money it would save us on IVF!

@Chastenet: thanks to ObamaCare, no more pre-existing condition denials!

No joke this happened to me this month. Im on BC but AF was 3 days late when usually I'm 3 days EARLY! I was crying at Target buying a pregnancy test while holding DD (5 months old). Poor pharmacist. LUCKILY we're just a family of 3 still lol
pomelo / 5178 posts
I'd be ok. It's a little earlier than we had planned on for #3, but it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to start early.

@yoursilverlining: Good news! I didn't realize that was already in effect.

Even though LO is only 5 months, I would be sooo happy! We are going to start TTC in about a month but AF hasn't come back yet so who knows how long it will take. (Yes, we are crazy)

I'd freak the eff out. Not only would I have to explain to my husband who I haven't had sex with in over two months that I didn't cheat on him (Immaculate Conception!), DS is only 8 weeks old, we're 95% sure we only want him, and 100% sure we don't want Irish twins.

I'd be happy/freaking out! We aren't TTC, but for no real reason.. so we would be fine!

I'm loving this thread! I think DH would be more panicked than me....I would eventually be thrilled because we do want #2.....just don't plan to try for #2 for another year!
grapefruit / 4770 posts
I would immediately ask DH if he was having relations with me while I was sleeping (which would be really creepy), b/c there hasn't been much action, AND we always use protection!

Totally jumping for joy cause we just started ttc and in the middle of tww right now

@JessicaMcB: hahaha too funny! Same ere. It's funny because just today at dinner DH was like "what if there were 2!" and I'm like "ha-ha...not.frikkin. funny"

I would be pretty stressed out, because I need to go back to work for 600 hours to qualify for our Canadian mat leave, and Sawyer is just 5 months old, so I would have to go back to work ASAP so I could have mat leave for #2, and Sawyer is such a Mamas boy I think he needs me home for the year.

Thrilled, we are trying to decide when to try for baby #2, since Cam is almost 9 months. I thought 18 months apart sounds fun/crazy, but haven't gotten up the nerve to pull the goalie just yet. Of course AF hasn't returned yet, but I'm sure it will be soon.
My cousin just had a new baby on Monday, so I'm a bit envious with baby rabies right now.

I would freak out because our lives are not very stable right now, but ultimately I would jump for joy!

It would be the best moment of my life thus far. Been ttc for 9 cycles with pretty major infertility issues so...yeah.
cantaloupe / 6146 posts
I would freak out. Our insurance ends in January. Our life will be upside down for a little while and to be pregnant with intermittent care, mid move, mid career, with a baby (4 months) already at home.... Yeah I would freak out.
cantaloupe / 6146 posts
And now I'm worried and might go digging for those old cheap preg tests from last year....I think they don't expire till 2013 or 2014.
cantaloupe / 6610 posts
I'm still preg now, but I know a girl that got preg with #2 when #1 was 3 months old. Like pretty much one of the first times they had sex.
It made me really think about #2 and we're kind of leaving it up to "whatever." I see some of the posts on here from ladies that are still having trouble TTC and even though I'm 31 weeks, deep down, I'm still that girl who wanted this baby so bad and couldn't get pregnant for a while. So that makes me think that a) we probably won't get preg that easily anyway, and b) if it DOES happen asap, then at least we won't have to go through the misery of TTC a long time.
I'd rather have Irish twins than struggle to conceive #2.... (Took 9 months with 2 early miscarriages to get this baby, and even though lots of people take a lot longer, it was still terrible, and I don't ever want to go down that road again if I can avoid it!)

I would DIE! We want more but not for a couple years... DD is just 6 months and a VERY high needs baby! Just the though of her temperament and being pregnant and then having a newborn FREAKS ME OUT. eek!
GOLD / pear / 1845 posts
I would cry, we're done! I have told people that if I get pregnant by accident they are not allowed to tell the child how many times I said that I didn't want another baby...
pear / 1786 posts
I would be ecstatic!!! We have been TTC for 11 cycles for baby #1. I will be 37 this month and while we don't even have 1 yet, I have been thinking about how soon after (hopefully) #1, I might want to try for #2. It will have to be pretty soon after...

Beyond thrilled. My daughter just turned one, and we've been not preventing since her birth. I needed clomid to make her, so I'd really like to skip it this time and just get pregnant.
