How would you spell the name Elliot/Elliott when the name is to be used for a girl? I know there are other ways to spell it, like Eliott, Eliot, or even Elliette, but I'm not really into those and have narrowed it down to the two above.

@Meowkers: I think @cherrybee: has a daughter named Elliott. I don't know how she spells it though.
I bored 2 Ts although I seriously don't think it makes a difference.
Maybe you can go somewhere (like BRU) where they have personalized cups or magnets with kids' names on them, and see how they spell Elliott for a girl (if you want her to have the most common spelling as that may make her life easier). -

I like one T. I tend to like shorter names in general and cutting out the second double letter makes sense to me.

So I looked it up on the Social Security Administration and for girl Elliot is more common than Elliott. Last year Elliot was 842 in popularity with Elliott being 904. Not a huge difference but it may sway me. On the one hand I think maybe the second T makes it more complete. On the other hand I think maybe it makes it more fussy. I guess we have about 6 months to decide on this issue.

I've seen more girls with 1 T. That being said, DS (is a boy clearly) and his middle name has two T's.

I like one T and this was going to be the name of my daughter until my cousin stole it (for a boy, no less!).
