DH is one of two finalists for a position, and he's pretty excited about the opportunity. The company brought him (and me) in from out of town two weeks ago for a half-day interview, which went very well. The other candidate was interviewed last week. He's older than DH, with more years of experience in the industry, but they have the same title and DH believes he has a better skill set for the specific needs of the role.
Anyway, the corporate recruiter just got in touch with DH this morning and asked for three references. He's already contacted at least one of them - the third one, who is a former coworker of DH's who texted him just now about their conversation (very positive).
From the brief skimming I've done, it sounds like the recruiter taking this step could mean an offer is forthcoming. Of course I know nothing is guaranteed, but this position means both a substantial boost in salary (likely, YAY), and a relocation to an area I'm not crazy about (definitely, boo). So I've been on tenderhooks for two weeks about this, and I'm itching to get HR insight. Any thoughts?
