Yes, I would reply and answer any questions they asked but keep it short and neutral. I would not ask any questions because I don't want a response!

Depends! I have a couple exes who I felt very strongly about but are still on my FB because it ended very amicably and ended YEARS ago. DH knows I communicate with them occasionally, just to check in on each others lives.

However, if it was the guy I dated for 3 years and who now works at the same university as me, HELL NO. He's too close for comfort!

I don't think DH would respond to any of his exes. They all ended very badly.

I have actually been in this position, with an ex who I was very much in love with. he contacted me a couple months into me and DH's relationship (when dating) and I told him I was seeing someone and it was getting serious. He tried to contact me when I got engaged and I ignored him,

I have seen him a couple times, but both times I said hi and walked away. I have no problem with him, but I get the feeling then he hadn't completely let go and I know how strong my feelings were and I wouldn't do anything to jeopardize what I have with DH now.

I wouldn’t respond just because I’d have no interest in doing so. DH probably wouldn’t respond either…same reason.

Thankfully Any feelings I had for exes died when we broke up. if an ex emailed I'd respond and tell dh about it. Would tell the guy I'm happily married to the loooove of my life and a mom of almost 2!

I'm still facebook friends with all of my exes and my husband is with his. Neither of us had overly serious relationships before the other and neither of us would have a problem if the other person had a conversation with an ex. We live in a small town and will occasionally see an ex when we're out and about. We'll say hi and catch up and be on our way. No big deal.

Absolutely I would. I am still current friends with one, would pick up the friendship (that we fought really hard for after we broke up) with the other, and the third... nothing he could say would ever lead to anything because he's the biggest ahole in the world.

Like @chopsuey, I would tell him I met the love of my life and we have a son. (Actually one of my exes was at our wedding and he just got engaged! Yay!)

I don't see how it could lead to anything if I didn't want it to...

My DH would not because he hates all his exes.
