I really don't get it. It must be denial. I mean how do you not feel the babies move? Even if you don't get big, By the third trimester movement is undeniable.

I don't get it, I know a girl who claimed she didn't know she was pregnant until se delivered, but I saw a picture when she was around 6 months and I knew right away and couldn't figure out why she was drinking in it. I think it's extreme denial and she had some issues anyways (notorious liar.) Just strange.

I don't believe any of these stories. @Vegmama: Agree - I think most of these women are in denial + dealing with serious issues. And/or want 15 seconds of fame.

My mom didn't know she was pregnant with her first (my brother) until she was 20 weeks! She said she was still bleeding every month and just thought that she was sick! Crazy!!

@LuLu Mom: a college acquaintance went to the ER with stomach pains and delivered a baby boy. He's two now. Her Facebook feed blew up, and a "congrats! Your mom told us you were expecting but we didn't know you were due so soon!" snuck in there. It was gone pretty quickly I've ways wondered who else saw it-- she sticks to the 'I didn't know I was pregnant' story.

I can think of one scenario that does make sense!
A BM in my wedding was TTC #2 with her husband. He works six weeks off shore, is home a few weeks, repeat, etc. She tested too early and got a false negative. She has PCOS so didn't think anything of it when she missed her next few periods. Her husband was out of town for a few months working, and by the time she did get her positive test she was 4 months along!

I can kind of see it to a point. My periods are so irregular that I go months and months without one. Also I didn't get morning sickness with this pregnancy and didn't start gaining weight until I was about 25-28 weeks. I gained slowly for the next couple of weeks then blew up lol. And didn't feel movement until about 20 weeks and it could have been gas really. But I started really feeling her a bit after that. I can't buy the whole not knowing until delivery though.

I mean... I want to see a picture of this lady during this time. I have a REALLY hard time believing this!! I mean, I have friends that carried small, but at 9 months pregnant they still looked pregnant! Just more like 6 months instead of delivering the next day.

I made an appt with my obgyn to be put on bcp when I was 18. My Husband and I weren't ready to have a baby, my period is insanely irregular (I can go over a year without). The nurse had me lay back and during my exam she stopped suddenly, laid me back further, pushed around on my tummy and then got the Doppler out. She told me she heard two hb's and sent me down for a u/s, the dr was present for that and they told me I was 24 weeks pregnant (the second hb the nurse heard was mine). I didn't show, and had no symptoms prior to that, as soon as I heard the words it was like my belly exploded, I looked and felt pregnant immediately.

Then he came 1 month early.

@Mrs.Pinecone316: I'm thinking someone made a boo boo and didn't give her a pregnancy test OR maybe because it was the late 70s it wasn't standard to give pregnancy test before surgeries back then??

my little sister got pregnant at 16. she found out in late january and was due early march. i think in her case, it had a lot to do with being a teen and not knowing/paying attention to her body. i saw her at christmas and we all had no idea. she really didn't start showing until after she found out, she just looked like she had gained a bit of weight all over. it was a crazy time, especially with her being so young. she chose adoption for her baby so everyone had to a very short time to adjust! it was nuts!

i do believe in certain circumstances this stuff can totally happen. but twins is crazy to me!

I can't imagine not knowing through six months... I can understand that not everyone carries the same, but the movement? etc. I guess all pregnancies are different?...

I don't think it would happen to anyone who's active on HB because we are all crazy and test early. But if you are seriously not trying to get pregnant, thinking about pregnancy, etc it is more possible that you may not realize they are pregnant right away.

I worked for a lady that found out she was pregnant with twins at 5.5 months! She was super tall (like 5'10" or 5'11"), and thought her older son had given her the flu during her first trimester.
She was in her late 30s and "done" having kids, so I guess she wasn't expecting it or looking for it!

Having had twins I have an extremely hard time believing she had no clue. Not only was I miserable the entire time but I was a beached whale towards the end. I can see going a few months and not knowing but seeing she isn't that large of a person I just can't believe she went 34 weeks without a clue.

I don't believe this for a second. I understand going up to 20ish weeks and not knowing because some people hardly show, don't feel movement yet and could still be bleeding sometimes. I totally get that.

8/9 month pregnant? You know. 8/9 months pregnant with TWINS? You totally know. Some maaaajjor denial happening there. I watch the show "I Didn't Know I was Pregnant" now and then and think it's all BS. I had an AP and LO was facing in so his kicks weren't something I felt often but I could feel him moving around.

@MrsTiz: I understand it hard to believe but I just don't think its fair of you to judge.

My husband had a co-worker who didnt know she was pregnant and I believe her. She had her tubes tied after her second and was still breastfeeding her second son at the time so she didnt get a period and wasnt expecting to She found out when she was 6 months pregnant! I would never believe it but clearly pregnancy was the last thing on her mind since she had her tubes tied. Needless to say she had them double tied after the birth of her 3rd son!

@looch: IDK - I have always found these stories hard to believe. Even long before DH and I were even considering TTC.

I saw one episode of the show a while back where the lady was like well I wasn't good about taking my birth control, I stopped having my period, I was really sick for about a month, I put on some weight, and I felt an alien moving in my body - but I didn't know I was pregnant! And yes - the lady was really claiming that she thought the baby's movements were from being possessed by an alien.
