I scared the cat and she scratched DS when she was running away. She got his leg, hand, and somehow his back. He cried for a few minutes; I cried a lot longer. The scratches aren't bad, but I feel like crap now.

You're not a terrible mum at all Sorry the cat scratched baby, that must have been very scary. I think though that sometimes babies need to know that cats can hurt them so they learn healthy boundaries in terms of how they treat the cat, such as don't pull their tail etc. So maybe it will help your LO with his relationship with your cat in the future... Scratches heal very quickly though, baby will be okay

Oh no! We have a jumpy cat and I'm surprised this hasn't happened to us (yet)! It's okay. The scratches will heal quickly and both LO and the cat probably forgot it happened! You're a great mommy.

These things definitely happen. Our dog has knocked M to the ground a few times when I haven't been able to stop it. You're a wonderful mom! I fell down the stairs with M last week and I cried SO much longer than she did

Oh you're not a bad mom!! It was an accident and it happens. My dog jumped on DD's back the other day and she fell face first onto the tile. She cut her lip open and was bleeding on everything. I felt so bad for not catching her in time. She was fine in a few min, but the emotional scars on me are lasting longer.

Thanks for the pep talks! Being a mom is so hard.We do our best to keep the little folks safe, but we can't make them live in a bubble.

I feel bad when my nugget scratches herself. Mommyhood really makes us feel like crap sometimes with the shouldha, wouldha, and couldha....
