Someone e-mailed me the following link today:
http://www.careercast.com/jobs-rated/best-worst-jobs-2013
Basically, they ranked 200 jobs from best to worst, based on work environment (physical and emotional), income, stress level, and hiring outlook/growth potential.
My job, newspaper reporter, was ranked the absolute WORST job, due to high stress level/poor hiring outlook. OMG. It's ranked below things like dishwasher, garbage collector, and meter reader (not that there's anything wrong with those jobs, I'm just depressed that mine's the #1 worst!)
Luckily, SO's job ranks as the 2nd best in America, so I guess we'll be OK.
How does your job measure up?
ETA: I don't agree with the rankings since I think the "best" job for one person could be the "worst" job for another depending on where your passions lie. But it is interesting!
