I managed to avoid hitting my head too hard, but man, am I ever going to be sore tomorrow!
I know that using a heating pad is iffy in pregnancy, but what about ice?

If something seems off tomorrow, I will go to urgent care (I don't have a PCP). It's mostly my arms and back - I think it's just going to be some ugly bruises.

I used a heating pad during pregnancy, glad you are ok! Get checked out if you feel off.

How many steps did you fall? How far along are you?

@lady baltimore: Call your OB office!! Better safe then sorry momma.

I would call! And feel better. What hurts that you want to out a heating pad on?

@Bao: Thanks! I will definitely keep an eye on things.
@regberadaisy: I was only about 4 steps from the top when I slipped. I only just got a
last weekend, so not far along at all.
@MrsRcCar: I'm only five-ish weeks, so I kind of feel like, whatever's going to happen is going to happen. If the fall is going to affect my pregnancy, I don't think there's anything the OB could do about it at this stage, you know?

@lady baltimore: ((hugs)) I'm sure everything is OK!

@jedeve: My bum (thankfully not the tailbone!), mid-back, and arms took the brunt of it. Usually, I'd heat my back for any achiness.
@oliviaoblivia: Thanks! I do think the worst of it was how startled and scared I was in the moment. I immediately started bawling, and took more than a little while to get myself together.

I hope you're okay. I was in the ER Monday, unrelated to a fall and She told me to use a heating pad for back pain. I told her the RE said I couldn't, and she said well yeah that's in the first trimester. So, she told me no heating pad in first trimester. I would get checked out for peace of mind! Feel better soon!

@lady baltimore: I fell down the stairs about halfway through pregnancy. It's scary! But you'll be ok. Your baby has a ton of cushioning right now.

Oh man, feel better after your fall! I hope it doesn't affect your pregnancy - I'm sure it won't at that stage since baby is so small.

Scary! I fell around 20-some weeks and my ass and elbow took the brunt of it. A heating pad is fine as long as its not insanely hot! Maybe a warm bath, too!

Thanks for all the kind thoughts! I have some gnarly bruises today, but am less sore than I could have been.
So far, so good on the baby front - I am hoping that (s)he is so small and well cushioned at this point that all is well. I'll have lots to tell the midwife at my first appointment!
