@mrssquirreld: me too. its been completely emotionally draining for me and taking a big toll on my relationship with DH to boot. that's funny because i've been worried i suddenly developed PCOS lately because of this seemingly long and annovulatory cycle!

@chibee: that was 1000 posts!! woohoo to us!! lol
but yes it is emotionally draining.. and I never thought I would feel this way about sex, but it just seems like such a chore its emotionally tiring and disappointing , suddenly its like you're not doing it for pleasure anymore...its just to have a baby.

@mrssquirreld, @chibee: While I wouldn't want you to have PCOS, ladybee's cycles had moments where they were totally regular and moments where she failed to ovulate in a cycle, which is similar to what you're going through. Once this was diagnosed by her doctor, they put her on clomid and hopefully that will be her baby solution. I say this because it's definitely worth talking to your doctor and if he/she says it's PCOS at least you can move forward with a solution instead of worrying/wondering/trying forever with no positive result and if it's not PCOS at least you can start to figure out with your doc why you had such a long cycle. My heart goes out to both of you. I know what it's like to wonder why you can't get pregnant. I too drank a bit today (2 company parties) figuring I'm not pregnant but I will feel so much better when I visit the RE on Thursday.

@marionberry: @chibee: I don't know what I would do without you ladies... you are my rocks!
grapefruit / 4311 posts
@Mrs squirreld: i guess along the lines that your body gears up and tries to O, then you could have positive OPKs. i really worry about that!
@Mrs squirreld: @chibee: this past month was REALLY bad our my and DH's relationship. really taught me that i don't want to be a crazy baby fever lady next month.
pomelo / 5041 posts
@Mrs squirreld: Yes you would still get positive OPK's as it just monitors your body's hormone that pushes the egg to release, not the release itself. You guys are my rock too! Babymaking is a very hard process when you're not one of the lucky ones who gets it easily and that's hard to explain to those around you who aren't in the same boat. I thank God for you guys!
@runnerd: Babymaking does put a huge toll on you and DH's personal relationship. My advice, communicate a lot, be patient, be understanding, and just remember that your life needs to be about him and you as much as it becomes about TTC.

Hi ladies, can I join you on this thread? I am sitting at CD 19 and have not O'd. On clomid you are suppose to O 5-10 days after your last pill. Today would be 10 days after. Juding by my temps, darkening line on OPK and EWCM I think I geared up to O and failed again. I guess 50mg wasn't the trick for me. I'm going to call my doctor in a day or two and see if I can up to 100mg even thought I'm 99% sure he doesn't prescibe it that high. UUUUUGGGGH!

seriously, i don't know how i would get by without you guys, and this is 100% honesty. I don't have a lot of people in my life I can talk about this stuff with, mostly because i don't want people to know that we are trying and more importantly, because no one understands. It's nice to come here and vent and know that you guys know exactly what I'm talking about! it's really my only sanctuary through this process.
@ladybee: of course, please join us! have you felt any side effects of Clomid?
@runnerd: DH and I have never fought so much before starting TTC - which is totally counterproductive because it makes me stress out and stress totally delays O for me. I honestly can't wait till this process is over, for the sake of my sanity. I know that sounds bad but I haven't been handling the stress very well so I know how you feel!
grapefruit / 4311 posts
@ladybee: sorry, know that's so frustrating! I'm happy to vent with anyone along this process!!!! I'm so afraid to start tempting b/c I'm fearful I will find issues since my cycles are close to 40 days and more a few times a year.
@chibee: yes, this is not a fun, lets have lots of sex process for me. I am too analytical and focused to just go with the flow. I want to just achieve the goal haha! I'm like that with any life change or project though - cant change who I am
I totally just started posting like a crazy on all HB threads, so yes, thank y'all all for listening to the ravings of a mad woman! I really wouldn't be able to talk to people in my life about this stuff! My one friend who is trying is so laid back about it all that she doesn't want to talk in detail like I do!

Guys, finally, a real positive OPK! Ok, the wondfo doesn't look positive in the pic, but only a min later it did turn a much darker color. whatever, i'm gonna go with the digital because i am tired! CD32 - first positive OPK. Lots of real ewcm - please please let this be it! I'm sick of this cycle you have no idea!
grapefruit / 4311 posts
@chibee: yay!!!! hope that brings a major stress reduction for you too!
nectarine / 2530 posts
@runnerd: ha, I'm the same way. I wanted my A+ of a BFP ;).
@chibee: woo to the hoo!!
grapefruit / 4079 posts
Ladies, thanks for the support. Yesterday was a bad day for me. I'm so glad I have HB to come and vent too. @chibee: yay!!! I know how stressful it can be waiting to O. Woo hoo!!
I had a temp spike this morning, but it was my third and nothing panned out so far so lets wait and see. I had a - OPK yesterday morning but at the same time, it's said that OPKs and PCOS don't go well together so I'm going to just watch and trust my temps. I had intense lower left side cramping at about 10pm last night. Was it O? Was it gas? Was it something cramping after DTD around 8? Who knows! Hopefully it was O and I can start the TWW.
pomelo / 5041 posts
@ladybee: oohhh I think you may have o'd! So great! I hope you did because I know you could use the break.
@mrssquirreld: wasn't planning on testing until my temp shot up today. Then I did and it was negative, so maybe it's just a one day random thing. I will wait now and see what my temps do before testing again.
@chibee: I am the same way, very analytical. DH gets mad thinking I just want sex to make a baby and not to be with him. This is why I make the effort to initiate it or allow it lol outside of our fertile window. This whole process is very hard on them to and we have to try to remember that.

You guys - esp @runnerd @mrssquirreld with the OPK issues this month - i just did some internet research (of course) and came to find something out that was major. So I was doing some in-depth reading about the clearblue digital OPKs - and I came to understand why they are so, so much more expensive than regular pee-on sticks where you compare the two lines, and it's not that they simply "interpret" the lines for you. Directly from the instructions:
"As many women have low levels of LH present in their urine throughout their cycles, the Clearblue Digital Ovulation Test does not measure the LH surge to a constant uniform threshold. Instead, the Clearblue Digital Ovulation Test sets a personalised threshold level for each woman, by measuring their change in LH level from their personal baseline. This is an obvious advantage over visual tests which ignore the fact that different women have different baseline LH levels and that levels can even vary between cycles."
Meaning, the digitals understand our "baseline" LH level which is unique to everyone and different for each cycle and can detect when there's an actual surge going on from actually detecting an increase from our normal amount of LH, not when we simply have more LH in our system that pushes the test line over the control line threshold (which is uniform and standard on all the pee sticks, like Wondfo and Target brands). Am I making any sense? That's why the digitals do urge you to keep testing every day starting from a certain day on - it "remembers" our normal level of LH and goes on to detect the surge from there!
This is why they don't make you keep the white stick and buy "refills" of the test sticks, because it needs to reset every cycle since every cycle has different cover lines of LH levels. I think this is why I kept getting "almost" positives on my Wondfos with continuous negatives on the digital - and when my LH finally increased yesterday, correctly accompanied by EWCM, it finally gave me a smiley.
Does that make sense? it was like an epiphany for me this morning!!
nectarine / 2530 posts
@chibee: this is interesting; it also means I used them wrong lol. I stretched one package of digital OPKs out over three cycles. I would pretty much hold off until a few days before I would probably O, then start taking them twice a day until I got a positive.
pear / 1974 posts
@strawberrybee: me too, i stretched them out to at least 2 cycles! and i only had been using them to "confirm" a suspected positives - but this cycle i have been using them correctly inadvertently because i was so impatient that i twas taking me so long to O - i would take a wondfo in the afternoon, digital at night.
grapefruit / 4311 posts
@chibee: that is really interesting!! I think I will be splurging next month for the clear blues!
grapefruit / 4079 posts
@marionberry: I really really hope it was O because our timing is perfect! Plus I'm ready to move into the tww. Tomorrow's temp will tell. I want to go to bed so I can find out. That's a nice temp jump. Implantation maybe?
pear / 1974 posts
I know you guys are probably sick of my OPK related posts but.. an unmistakable positive today on Wondfo - I have never seen such a welcome sight! OK now i'm REALLY done talking about OPKs sorry!
clementine / 854 posts
@chibee: congrats on the positive opk! I could never get a clear + on the Wondfos. I finally gave up and splurged on the CBE smiley face ones.
pear / 1974 posts
@futuremama: i had a lot of trouble with the Wondfos this time around - i kept getting almost positives so I just use both the digital and the Wondfo!
@mrscastro @cherrybee thanks! this cycle was a killer i tell ya!
pomelo / 5041 posts
@ladybee: You think? That was my thought and then I tested and BFN so I wasn't sure what to think. I guess the next few days will tell. This may just be a random surge before it falls. I'm crossing my fingers for another high temp for you tomorrow too!
@chibee: Super congrats lady! You've been waiting for this for so long. Get BD'n!
pear / 1974 posts
@marionberry: thanks!! wow look at your temp jump - have you ever had post-o temp that high? i was looking at your past charts and it seems like that's the highest!
pomelo / 5041 posts
@chibee: It's the highest temp I've ever had, and I've certainly never had a jump that high before, which is why I ran to test this morning. Kinda hoping not enough hCG in my system yet...but I know it's a long shot.
grapefruit / 4079 posts
@marionberry: Don't they say it takes around 48 hours after implantation for your hcg to build up? I think maybe you just tested to early! I wish you were on east coast time so we'd be temping at the same time. I don't think I can look up friends on the iphone app. Hopefully we both have high temps tomorrow!!!
pomelo / 5041 posts
@ladybee: I know! I totally hate that about the ap. I always want to check out friends and see my pregnancy percentage and I have to go find my computer to do so. I will definitely see yours at 6 when I wake up and mine's always updated about 9:15 your time. Wishing us both good news!
pomelo / 5041 posts
@mrscastro: My temp went down today so assuming AF will be here soon...somewhat looking forward to my first RE appointment tomorrow. How about you?
@mrssquirreld: How are you doing hun? I saw no confirmed ovulation so far.
nectarine / 2522 posts
@marionberry: no idea... Cycle 35. I don't think my temps mean much as they were taken at irregular times and some on only 4 hours sleep! I just want this cycle to be over so I can start fresh!!
pomelo / 5041 posts
@mrssquirreld: What a great attitude! I get wanting a refresh..that's me toward the end of every cycle lol.
nectarine / 2522 posts
@marionberry: oh I think the attitude is just a front.... There is still part of me that thinks...maybe... But even if I did O back after my opks I would only be 9dpo today. Lol I can't see your chart cause I'm on my phone but will have a look later.... I felt like this was going to be your month.
Well atleast ill be able to drink at Xmas and New Years!!! Lol
pear / 1974 posts
@mrscastro: frustrated! how are you? i'm on day like 4 of positive OPKs - first i can't get them now i can't get rid of them haha i'm so SO exhausted from BD this cycle I don't know if i have it in me for another round tonight ughh
@marionberry: i saw that temp drop but still well above your cover line - let's wait and see what tomorrow brings for you!
@mrssquirreld: what in the world is going on with our cycles this month??? I am really getting to that point too, I just want this over by now.
