@Hanzabelle: What a great question! I already know what I'd do, if I could!
If we won the lottery and thus had the capital to set a business up and I didn't have to worry about making money out of it particularly... I'd set up a dog training centre with a twist!
I'd buy a huge place and turn half into really swish boarding kennels and a doggie spa. The other half I'd turn into a dog training centre. I'd employ a couple of really great behaviourists but the rest of the staff would be people that the world has kind of given up on - young offenders, young people with disabilities. I'd train them to do jobs around the centre - reception duties, dog care, grooming - and also how to cope with daily work, conflict management, personal money management - with a view to moving them into permanent work elsewhere when they're ready. Once they're in a new jobs, we can take on new trainees to fill their space!
We'd keep the centre afloat by offering grooming, daycare, boarding facilities to paying customers but the real work is this: We can go to the kill-shelters and take out dogs which are seen as un-adoptable - the badly behaved, hyperactive, crazy dogs. The staff will then work with the behaviourists and rehabilitate the dogs and then train them to become therapy dogs - the dogs can then be taken into hospitals, nursing homes etc. So it's the people the world gave up on rehabilitating the dogs the world gave up on, giving happiness to people and making a real difference. Once the dogs are ready, we can let them be re-homed, freeing up space for another badly behaved dog!
I hope my rambled explanation makes sense? I'd love to do this... but I don't ever see a time when I wont have to work just to keep our heads above water and the project would be too risky if we didn't have tons of money behind us.

@Hanzabelle: Oh and your idea sounds fab - i'd totally have a coffee there!

@Ali: that is an amazing dream!! I hope u get to make it come true one day!!!

@Ali: I can't believe how great that idea is, I am constantly dreaming of winning the lottery and helping out all the dogs that pop up on my facebook feed that need donations towards their surgery, illness, whatever whatever! it makes me tear up thinking about it!

@Hanzabelle: This is so hard. Um I think I would run a hospital, if I kept in my same field of work (because I do aspire to do that one day) but then I also would love to own a dessert bar business (like where you're hired to do them for weddings and events) which goes well with the wedding planning business I already have, and I'd also love to be an interior designer. If I had lots of money our home would look amazing! So I'm all over the place on that one, lol.

@Hanzabelle: 7DPO for me too! Absolutely zero symptoms. Zip. Not even sore boobs. Like I said last cycle, I really want to try to wait till AF is late, but the bad news is that I am in the possession of internet cheapies and it's not going to happen. Last time AF came after 12DPO so I could technically test at 11DPO?? only 4 days! I've basically already given up on this cycle bc both DH and I were very sick around O time so it'd be a freakin miracle if i got BFP this cycle.
papaya / 10570 posts
Don't get hung up on symptoms or lack of though... I had ZERO symptoms last month and I had a BFP - even if it didn't stick around for long.
nectarine / 2522 posts
I love hearing people dreams - so inspiring!!!
I'm feeling pretty upbeat since makin the decision to look for another job. I'm also happy cause its Friday and its a long weekend here!!! And I think I'll test at 10dpo ( which is Sunday) I've a had a few symptoms but none that really scream I'm pregnant. I think DH will be gutted if I'm not pregnant this month. my hopes aren't high.
papaya / 10570 posts
@Hanzabelle: I'm glad you're feeling cheerful again! It's good to be upbeat!!! I'm excited about Sunday!!! Thank goodness your Sunday starts 7 hrs before mine so I wont have to wait too long!!
I'm feeling pretty good, too. I've just submitted my final assignment for my course module (I'm doing an English degree distance learning and it's been really hard going!!). I've hated this module so I'm glad it's all over and I can start a new one!!
I also think my body is gearing up to O!! Yay!! I started getting almost pos OPKs a week before O last time so if this month is the same, I'll be Oing while we're away for a few days - RESULT!!! If that is the case, my stupid long cycle post BCP was just a blip and I'll get normal ones from now on!! Fingers crossed!!!!
nectarine / 2530 posts
@Ali: here's for blips! go O go!
well girls, the jig is up! My husband was home from work yesterday and two packages came in the mail; one was some checks (yay, I finally updated my name and address ^_^), and the other was a large bag containing the boppy lol. He's very good in that he'll never pry, but I did confess that it was a baby pillow and he asked to see it later on in the night.
I haven't quite gotten around to confessing the other items I've purchased (cloth diapers, breast feeding cover, portable sanitizer, baby picture frame) *whistles innocently*. Mostly because the cloth diapering conversation is going to be...interesting. And the baby picture frame is gender specific (girl)...hey, I've got a 50/50 shot! and it was so pretty....
I'm also thinking that if I get a BFP I can take a picture of the test and put it in the sanitizer as a 'Yay, you're a daddy again!' announcement :).
papaya / 10570 posts
@Strawberrybee: Haha!! Yeah, when you get your BFP, you can "confess" that you've been buying stuff and show him everything. Then, when he's thinking you've gone completely mad, you can say "oh and I also bought one of these" and show him the test!!
nectarine / 2530 posts
@Ali: lol! I would love to think that I'll be clever and cute, but I'll probably be a happy crying mess waving a stick I peed on in his face ;D
papaya / 10570 posts
@Strawberrybee: Yeah... that's what i did!! I had it all planned out but when the time came I just ran to him waving the stick in his face! He looked at it then said "okay.. what does that mean?" Lol.

And I realize that the sanitizer thing sounds odd, but my SO is a major germaphobe, so it kinda fits (plus it's actually cute looking):

@chibee: oh it hurts so bad huh... i thought it might sting less after last month but nope.. hurts just as bad if not more. I know it "might" be too early I might be off with my O date.... but all hope just seems lost. Hugs to you.
I don't know if we are gonna keep trying next month... because now bubs DD would fall around when we have to move, which means different doctors and it would all be messed up. I'm so devo. DH was gutted too but the turned on Gangnam style and danced around the room like an idiot to make me laugh- gotta love him.
pear / 1974 posts
@Hanzabelle: It's still such a bummer, but let's not lose all hope, we are pretty early. It's hard with these stupid internet cheapies around! You're only 10 dpo, a lot of girls on the board got bfns until later on.
pomelo / 5041 posts
@Hanzabelle, @Chibee: Never give up until AF, and then try to think of the next cycle as another chance, not something that happened because you failed. And if you read all of the boxes for PT's they say that nothing is really guaranteed until the date of your missed period.
@Hanzabelle: I wouldn't put off having a baby because of moving. I think you'd rather have a baby than not, no matter what the consequence. But a month or two not "trying" could be good too because usually that's when people get pregnant due to the lack of stress.
nectarine / 2522 posts
@ambular1025: Thanks hun! Its just always hard to see those BFN..even if you are testing stupidly early!! I still don't know about the whole moving thing. Here's my issues if we TTC next month and get a BFP:
1. We will be moving when bub is 1-2 weeks old. And by moving I mean moving 3000kms. I want that time to be not stressful. Everything gets moved for us but we still have to drive the car up with our 2 dogs and a newborn ( there are no flights there)
2. I won't be able to have the nursery set up as it will all be getting packed up for the move.
3. Our move time isn't guaranteed and won't be till 8 weeks prior.
Ok so if we skip next month and TTC in November and get a BFP:
1. I'll have my OB for the first 7-8 months of pregnancy and then have to change right at the end to a new one, new hospital etc.
2.I'll have to make that 3000kms car trip at 8 -9 months preggo!
3. Like a said the moving time is not confirmed...it could be longer...
ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. maybe the whole thing is just bad timing and we should give up for 6 months.....
nectarine / 2522 posts
What a bloody rollercoaster this is and its only month 2!! geez!
Right here's some inspiration ladies.... OUR TIME WILL COME!!
pear / 1974 posts
@Ambular1025: i know the logical thing would be to wait till AF is late but it's so hard and still so disheartening to see that bfn. then i feel like a whiny baby bc i know there are girls on the board who have been at this for so much longer. ugh.
@Hanzabelle: i can understand. moving is so stressful - when we bought our house and moved in june we literally moved a couple blocks away from our condo within the same town and i cant tell you how stressful i felt about it so i can't imagine moving so far!
Well, my temp went down a bit today which is disappointing so I think at this point i will just wait for AF to make her stupid appearance.
pomelo / 5041 posts
@chibee, @Hanzabelle: I get how horrible seeing those BFN's is. I've seen so many and I hate how we get hopeful for about 15 seconds and then totally devastated. I'm sorry girls. I just want you to stay hopeful and not let an early one totally get you down.
@Hanzabelle: It does make sense about the moving, and switching docs but are you willing to put it off 6 months just to ensure you have a dr long enough? I don't think so. At one point we were thinking if we got pregnant it would also coincide with when we'd buy a house and it stressed us out but we decided the baby was more important. And often, your dr isn't on call the day you deliver and you get someone else anyway, so I just want you not to wait 6 months for something you want so badly.
nectarine / 2522 posts
@ambular1025: you're totally right. Nothing will stop me, DH agrees and who's to say we might keep trying and still not get pregnant for another few months anyways....
If I'm not pregnant this month I have the WORST case of pms... Or maybe it's these new meds, but I've turned into a crazy person. Cried myself to sleep last night- everything upset me. And today is a public holiday and it so warm and sunny outside and all DH wants to do is sit on the computer and play games. His parents are coming for lunch and I've spent the whole morning tidying up and preparing stuff for lunch and he's on the effing computer.... Ahhhhhhhh.

So I'm gettin serious ladies...I have decided that next month i'm gonna chart and/or use opk's.
but I need help...which should I do or should I do both... how the hell do I chart??
papaya / 10570 posts
@Hanzabelle. Join Fertility Friend. Its free. They send you a charting course free when you join (like one short lesson per day via email).
But to get you started: You just need a BBT thermometer. Take your temp every mornibg then plot it on a graph (on FF). Then, from about CD 10 pee on an OPK every day until you get a line which is darker than the control line. When it is, you will prob O within 12-36 hrs. Then, BD like crazy. You can tell you did O when your temp goes up for three days in a row - it is clear on the graph when its happened! Then and only then can you turn down the BDing (from the day after!!). Other people chart CM too but I don't.
But you hopefully won't need it, right?! Xxxx
nectarine / 2522 posts
@Ali: Thanks Ali.....here's bloody hoping....but I'm gonna prepare for next month anyways so hopefully when AF comes I won't crash so much.
How are YOU going?? Is this month treating you well? (apart from the bright green bathroom ceiling...lol)
papaya / 10570 posts
@Hanzabelle: Lol! I need to post a pic of that later (im on my phone now). Yeah, I'm fine thanks. Its my dads funeral today - dreading it - but apart from that all is well. I'm not as intense about TTC this month, which is good. I'm charting etc but managing to think of things other than babies this month!!
nectarine / 2522 posts
@Ali: You've got so much on..you are seriously a trooper!!! I hope today gives you some kind of peace...much love to you -I'll be thinking of you! xo
pear / 1974 posts
@Ali: thinking of you today. I think it's good that you're not stressing as much as last month though - this is something I need to work on!
nectarine / 2522 posts
@chibee: have you Poas again? I'm waiting til AF due day and then if no AF I'll test.
pear / 1974 posts
@Hanzabelle: do you really think i have that much self control? I did last night, 10 dpo, BFN!
nectarine / 2522 posts
@chibee: I just go pee as soon as I wake up... So it's like ha na na now u can't test. 10dpo is still early remember. I'm not sure I can deal with seeing a bfn at the moment.
pear / 1974 posts
@Hanzabelle: I will try to hold on till AF shows at this point, testing has become so like routine for me, pee on a stick, see BFN go on about life. I literally cannot see myself seeing a BFP on it anymore. I had a dream 2 nights ago that I took a digital and it was positive and what a disappointment when I woke up. Are you at 11 dpo now? Last cycle AF came after 12 dpo for me, when are you expecting AF?
nectarine / 2522 posts
@chibee: yep 11dpo today. Expecting AF at 14-16dpo. I'm out of early detection tests now and only have cheapies so it's really forcing me to wait!!
pear / 1974 posts
@Hanzabelle: I've sort of given up hope and gearing up for next cycle to try things differently, but you're right, it's still sort of early so let's keep our fingers crossed. How funny that we are in the exact same place, 2nd cycle ttc, same dpo!!!
nectarine / 2522 posts
@chibee: I know freaky...it would be seriously freaky if we both got bfp at the same time cause our dd would be the same! Hehe
