How long have you been TTC? 3.5 years
High and low of the week: high: lo feeling better. Low: tight finance anxiety and lo getting sick.
Favorite way to start the day: with lots of coffee.
Do you remember your dreams? I didn't until I stopped bcp, now I could write a book about them.
What are you thankful for? Family and our ability to live with less.
Any new TTC developments/updates? No updates. Waiting for AF to show, but since I just went off bcp I'm not holding my breath. My cycles are crazy so we will just see what happens. Dh is enjoying no af, but it's making me anxious.

How long have you been TTC? It feels like forever. I'm on my first medicated cycle this month.
High and low of the week:
High: c is talking up a storm & is so much fun right now!
Low: I have the beginning stages of overstimulation & had to stop taking clomid mid-cycle.
Favorite way to start the day:
Coffee. Lots and lots of coffee.
Do you remember your dreams?
Yes!
What are you thankful for?
My family.
Any new TTC developments/updates?
I have the beginning stages of ovarian hyperstimulation & my RE had me quit taking Clomid on day 6 of my 10 day cycle. I may or may not O this month, but I was given the ok to TTC this month. I have an appointment early next month to discuss further options.
I haven't taken clomid since Tuesday. I didn't realize how awful I actually felt until I started to feel better

How long have you been TTC?
About 1.5 years
High and low of the week:
High: I created a product for the holidays this year and on Monday it exploded on Etsy It was pretty cool and overwhelming.
Low: Digestion issues that have only gotten worse in the past few months. Saw my ND yesterday and was put on a new diet, but I got home and had no idea what I was allowed to eat, and didn't really have the time to deal with it.
Favorite way to start the day:
I often watch a little Hulu or read a book for a few minutes before getting on with work.
Do you remember your dreams?
Sometimes. I know I had some crazy ones last night but I don't remember them.
What are you thankful for?
I'm very lucky to have supportive friends and family (plus DH!)
Any new TTC developments/updates?
I'm now on the FODMAP diet, once I figure out all the details. Really hoping that this solves my digestion issues once and for all, and makes my uterus a happy place to live
blogger / nectarine / 2010 posts
@Mrs.Someone: I saw your post about the diet yesterday and meant to look into it but forgot. I'm interested in reading about it. Also, do you wake up really early? I sleep until the last possible second and never have time for fun stuff!

How long have you been TTC?
20 cycles (since April 2012)
High and low of the week:
High: finding out my BFF is having a boy! Unlike the news she was KU, this was actually fun/exciting more than sad
Low: negative beta last Friday
Favorite way to start the day: slowwwly. I'm not a morning person! I give myself 2 hours between wake up and leave for work
Do you remember your dreams? Sometimes. DH said I was moaning in my sleep the other morning, but I don't remember that dream (!)
What are you thankful for? DH, and the fact that we have a good life, even without kids (yet, I hope)
Any new TTC developments/updates? I started Femara/Letrozole on Tuesday. So far I have no side effects, but I didn't with Clomid either. Monitoring next Thursday!
@Mrs. Polish: poor LO, glad he's feeling better!
@Mrs.Someone: have you gotten tons of orders? That's so exciting!!
@Mrs. Jump Rope: glad you're feeling better! I hope those 6 days of Clomid were enough to make you O so you don't have to worry about meds anymore!

How long have you been TTC? Since January 2012
High and low of the week: The high was our FET on Monday. The low was when the FET was delayed by an hour and I had to wait with a full bladder. That was horrible.
Favorite way to start the day: When I am able to have a lazy morning and not wake up to the alarm or one of the animals waking me up.
Do you remember your dreams? Sometimes.
What are you thankful for? My DH. He is my rock. I can't imagine going through all of this with anyone else.
Any new TTC developments/updates? We had our FET on Monday. Now I am in the dreaded TWW. I am trying not to over analyze every little twinge and ache, but that is so hard.

@Mrs. Polish: The diet is often prescribed for IBS patients, the general idea is to limit fructose and sugars. Overall, it ends up being Paleo +. DH leaves the house at 7:15 and I like to have breakfast with him, so yea, we're up pretty early! If I didn't wake up with him I would never get anything done since the morning is my most productive time.
@Shutterbug: 40 so far! Kindof crazy

I will answer the most relevant of those questions...
I do remember my dreams, and they have gotten weird! Last night, I had two bizarre ones, one about a nephrologist and someone in renal failure (yes, I had a dream about kidneys), and one where my whole extended family moved into a one bedroom apartment, I went on a double date with another girl and two monsters masquerading as hot guys (a la the Percy Jackson novels), and at the end of the dream, I had to skin a zombie's head. It was super, super bizarre.
High of the week: I'm 15 weeks! And maybe baby movement, not sure.
Low: I have a nasty virus-stomach, head, something. Yuck.
@Mrs. Jump Rope: I'm sorry about the Clomid, but I'm glad you are feeling better.
@Mrs. Polish: I'm sorry you're anxious
@Mrs.Someone: so is the new diet very different than the old one?
@Shutterbug: I'm not a morning person, either! Well, I really like the mornings, but I am super bad at moving fast. No matter how much time I take, I always need more!
@justdarling: very excited for you!
Hope everyone is well
pomelo / 5228 posts
@LovelyPlum: Whoa, do you wake up super disturbed from dreams like that? I hope you feel better soon!
Both diets are GF. The old one was based on a food sensitivities blood test with gave me a list of things to avoid. The new one is based on fructose/sugar amounts. The interesting thing is that some of the things I was eating more of on the old diet are no-nos on the new one, so I'm hoping that makes a difference. Also, some of my higher-sensitive foods also showed up on the new diet. The biggest bummer is that now I have to limit dairy, but I can add back in a few things I missed too. Still trying to get a grasp on it all!

How long have you been TTC?
A yearish.
High and low of the week:
High--really having fun with my students. Low--just lacking hope.
Favorite way to start the day:
We let my dog up for about 15 minutes and all have a snuggle. Really sweet. Then it's coffee time and checking on my favorite news and blog sites!
Do you remember your dreams?
Sometimes. I went through a phase of recording them, and I became better at remembering.
What are you thankful for?
My general good health. Even with my blood sugar concerns, I'm grateful to generally be healthy.
Any new TTC developments/updates?
Just waiting to ovulate! I was pretty sure I would get a positive OPK today, but no luck. I held that Wondfo out and studied it, but had to admit it was a negative.
@mrs. polish: so strange that bcp affected your dreams! I wonder why....
@mrs. jump rope: I'm eager to see if you will ovulate! When do you go for a check-in?
@mrs. someone: have you officially started the diet? How are you handling all those Etsy orders?
@shutterbug: let me know if you're more aware of ovulating on Femara. I certainly am!
@justdarling: what types of pets do you have? I'm grateful when my dog lets us sleep in, too! Do you have anything that would be good at keeping you busy during hell week(s), aka, the TWW?
@mrs bunchy: I think you're in my least favorite part of my cycle--pretty sure you're not pregnant, and just waiting for you period. Where were you in Florida? I'm always collecting ideas for vacations.
@Alie: that dream sound Alice in Wonderland trippy! Has your husband had low counts before?
@Bluestriped Bee: yeah for dog snuggles! Why would you doctor possibly not approve IVF? I'm glad things are looking up for you.
@Lovelyplum: wild dreams! Maybe it's the pregnancy.

@Happygal: I have attempted to start it the best I can, but I don't completely understand it yet. As for the Etsy orders, they are all going to ship in Mid-November, so for now I'm just collecting them and trying not to get overwhelmed!

Favorite way to start the day: a cup of coffee and some tv

What are you thankful for? My family and husband. They are so wonderful.
Any new TTC developments/updates? I may have some IF coverage on my work insurance but I am waiting for HR to confirm. I think at the very least they cover diagnostics which would be awesome. Also DH had a conversation with his boss about being home during fertile weeks, I'm sure it was awkward but he will not be traveling during that time of the month lol.

@happygal - delray beach in Florida. A family friend has a condo out here on the beach we got lucky with getting to come down for our 2nd anniversary in a row. Nothing will beat the honeymoon in Maui though!!!

High and low of the week: high: getting caught up on laundry and being productive around the house; low: so many ... not hearing back from a job I applied for, spotting started on Wed, so AF will be here soon, still feeling guilty about not making money
Favorite way to start the day: slowly and without an alarm clock!
Do you remember your dreams? Most of the time.
What are you thankful for? My amazing husband, family, and friends
Any new TTC developments/updates? We went to the RE yesterday for hubs to do another SA. AF will probably be showing up this weekend, and then we'll have to schedule another baseline and hopefully our treatment plan appointment for next week. Hoping the timing works out perfectly and we can actually start treatments again. I wasn't planning on taking a 3 month break.

@Happygal: We have a cat and a dog who are really great for preparing us for those sleepless newborn nights. The dog right now likes to get up at 4 to go outside - she doesn't need to pee but just wants to hang out outside. In the process of this, she likes to wake up the cat who then thinks she is hungry and keeps us up. It's a lot of fun! I was telling DH that we need to spend a night in a hotel so that I can sleep!
@Leialou: I was warning the nurses that I was going to pee all over them during the transfer! It was horrible. When they let me go to the bathroom it was like that scene in Austin Powers where he pees forever! It was the best feeling.
@MrsTal: That is exciting that you may have some IF coverage. Anything helps!

How long have you been TTC?
I'm waiting to start my first IVF cycle.
High and low of the week:
High - DH called my cell phone while I was at yoga and left me the sweetest message! He said he loved me and missed me and I started weeping in my car
Low - DH has incontinence issue and this week his catheters and diapers have been leaking all over the place. I have done so much laundry and cleaned up so much pee this week.
Favorite way to start the day:
Coffee and corn flakes.
Do you remember your dreams?
All the time, and I have really weird ones. I blame it on a medication I'm taking.
What are you thankful for?
I am so thankful that I get to see/hug/kiss/talk to my DH every day. I have to remind myself sometimes that I'm lucky that he is able to do as much as he is.
Any new TTC developments/updates?
DH has a follow up with the urologist next week and we are planning to to testicular sperm extraction. His test results came back with low testosterone and high FSH, which can be an indicator of low sperm count. I'm not sure if they will try to medicate him for this or not.
I'm doing fine after my septum surgery, so now we are just waiting for DH's sperm so we can start an IVF cycle.

@mrstal: what did you used to do with kids? I'm so impressed your husband talked to your boss about the fertile window! Mine would die.
@Shutterbug: I'm not sure how to describe the sensation....it's like a real fullness. Let me know if you feel it, too!
@just_Ju: laundry constantly defeats me. It's putting it away that creates a mess. I hate it. I'm sorry to hear about the job. Job searching is so tough--I think it's rude when people don't even acknowledge your application. Chin up! It's a tough market out there.
@JustDarling: that's funny. Is your dog young? I let mine outside last night and she ran over to start playing with something. She's just started trying to sneak up on the bed in the middle of the night, and I get lazy with throwing her off. Good thing she's cute.
@macintosh: I'm glad you can take moments to take care of yourself with things like yoga. How are your husband's spirits? Are you getting excited for an IVF cycle?
Today I'm looking for Christmas card ideas. Our card last year was perfect, and now I don't know how we can top it! I don't have a picture of us, and my husband hates the camera, so I may just skip the picture part, which isn't as fun.
clementine / 901 posts
@Shutterbug: he didn't use fertile window. It was more along the lines of "So ummm, the wife and I are trying to have a baby and so uhhh, I need to be home at certain times, if you get what I mean." At least that's what he told me. Lol
@Happygal: I work for a library system, the kids were at my old branch. I was all over the place there, helping with homework, programming, etc. I don't get to do that as much at my new branch.

@Happygal: I have no idea. I'm hoping the RE will approve IVF. I guess I'm being cautious just in case they say no, like they want to try more IUIs or something. I think after my second unsuccessful IUI, I was asking the dr why it wasn't working and she gave me some response that she doesn't think I should be having trouble. Guess I was frustrated that she wasn't running more tests to determine why my two IUIs didn't work. Maybe it's the unexplained IF diagnosis where she can't run any other tests. I wanted answers and at that point, she could have made up a test and it would have comforted me a little. Then again, I'm probably not the best IF patient. I took a lot of breaks during the process. Right after the HSG, we took at 3 month break. Then had two IUIs and 2 IUIs were cancelled because of enlarged ovaries. Then we took another break.
Also, it's been a year since my last HSG, maybe they want to do it again. I've only had bloodwork done once when I had my HSG last year. Oh, also, they realized the OPKs don't exactly work for me (or maybe I suck at taking them) so they said my next cycle would include doing ultrasounds to see when I ovulate. Oh, temping and charting doesn't give me a pattern, either. Maybe all these failed tests are trying to tell me there is something wrong with me. LOL!

@Happygal: I miss working with the kids so much. But I'm hoping to move into youth services eventually, just have to wait for a position to open up.

@FaithFertility: does your husband bring you coffee in bed? Lucky girl.
@BlueStriped Bee: it sounds like a bumpy road, but I'm glad you're feeling positive about things now! Do you just never get a positive with OPKs? They work well for me, but it is stressful since I ovulate as early as CD 15 and as late as CD 19.

So late to the game this week!
As of last month we were trying for 1 year and 9 months.
High: Going to the world's oldest vegetarian restaurant for dinner on Friday night. And lunch on Saturday!
Low: Being nervous about my pregnancy.
Favorite way to start the day: Coffee, TV, Internet!
Do you remember your dreams? Sometimes. Been having some crazy ones lately!
What are you thankful for? Right now I'm so thankful that I get to go to the US for 3 weeks, starting next week!
Any new TTC developments/updates? Had my first U/S today. I'm either 5w 6d, or 6w. Nothing exciting happened, or was seen. (Which I think/hope is normal. This was my earliest U/S ever.) I go back next Monday and hopefully there will be more to see then.
Interesting tid-bit, according to Ramzi's method, this pregnancy is a girl, which I had a feeling it was almost right from my BFP. No idea why I thought that, just did! We shall see.
honeydew / 7916 posts
@bluestriped bee: I'm surprised they were relying on OPKs in the first place and not monitoring you to see how close you were to ovulating. Did you at least have CD3 b/w each time? I'm not sure how much you'd want to move straight to IVF without having at least 1-2 properly done IUIs with CD3 b/w, u/s monitoring throughout, a trigger shot, and whatever meds are necessary. And I would possibly not use this clinic for IVF if they let you do IUIs that way...
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@spaniellove: Nope, no b/w other than when I first came in. I was sorta wondering why I didn't have blood draws like you all did. As for changing clinic, this clinic is pretty highly rated. There is another clinic in town that does not have good reviews in terms of service. Success rate is good but I heard that you feel like a number at that office. I would have to find one outside of the city which could complicate things with work.
I'm seeing the RE today to go over my records and get a plan in place. I'll ask them about getting blood work for the next cycle. It's too late for an IVF cycle so my next cycle will most likely be an IUI. Also, I'll have to see if I change doctors when I get transferred to IVF. They have a IVF specialist on their website.
pomelo / 5228 posts
@bluestriped bee: I thought I'd let you know what I've heard of the two clinics. The one you're at has MUCH better reviews, but my ND said they seem to waste patients' time (your experience kindof seems like it?) Their office was a little uncomfortable when we went in for an SA.
The other one is where I'm dabbling at right now, but their reviews are awful. I liked the doctor & nurse that did my HSG, but she wasn't available when I went in for the initial consult, and I didn't like the doc I got (or her nurse). They screwed up some blood tests last week, but luckily it wasn't a big deal (ran progesterone on cd7 without checking with me first). Their receptionists are awesome, but that's about it. Appointments have always been quite late too, and you do feel like a bit of a number. Also, I hate how the last thing they do at every visit is send you to finance, even though the lady never has anything to tell me.
Obviously I don't have much experience at either, but it sounds like its a bit of a crap shoot. I guess I would go with the one that has better success overall and just deal with any other stuff? My next move (if this month is unsuccessful) is to change doctors at the current clinic and hope I have better service.
