We laugh pretty hard at the Mindy Project, enjoy the junior Master Chef (dang, those kids are talented!), 60 minutes, Seinfeld reruns. Oh, Grimm was our escapist show, but the previews for the return look so bad. I watch Parenthood when my husband isn't around.
My dad and I both are driven and get very focused on projects. My mom is also a teacher and we share the same sense of humor. I love them both so much.
Updates--well, I guess my RE has decided my thin lining is just the way I am, so that's my diagnosis, I suppose! We're tackling it with injectables next go round. I was sad at first, but am trying to turn to being excited for this next big step.
Question--do you combine injectables with IUI if there's a male factor?

@Happygal: thanks for getting this started! These updates are the highlight of my Thursday
Favorite TV: we watch a lot of TV, so this is a tough one. Love Mindy Project, New Girl, Parks & Rec, and How I Met Your Mother. Masters of Sex is a new show that I'm really digging.
Family Similarities: I have my dad's temper, which is to say a bad one. Haha. And I think I get my creative nature from my mom :).
Updates: we go in to the RE on Monday to have our "what's next" treatment plan appointment. I'm pretty nervous for it, but I'll be glad to finally know what all of my test result numbers (like my AMH) really mean. I'm realllllly looking forward to starting treatment again! (is that crazy?)

*What's your favorite TV show right now?
I really like Revolution and Once Upon a Time. And a few that didn't get renewed this year (Touch, Lying Game).
*How are you like your mom and/or dad?
I'm organized and reliable like my mom. I have my dad's sense of humor and a tiny bit of his temper.
*Updates?
Started the FODMAP diet last week in hopes of finally figuring out my digestion problems. So far, so good! Today I'm on cd14 and expecting to O on Saturday, yay
pomelo / 5000 posts
@Just_Ju: we used to love Parks and Rec as well! Ron Swanson is my favorite. They slowly started to lose me with the whole Leslie and whatever his name is romance story line. What do you think next steps might be for you?
@Mrs.Someone: I haven't seen either of those shows! I should check them out. We liked the show Awake, but it got cancelled pretty quickly. Is your husband on the FODMAP diet as well? Yeah for O time! I still get a thrill from a positive OPK.
pomelo / 5228 posts
@Happygal: I highly recommend them both! DH is responsible for getting me into them, though he got tired of Revolution.
He is definitely not on FODMAP. Its prescribed for people with IBS symptoms, so most lucky people don't need to do this sillyness

@Mrs.Someone: I tried to read up about that diet, but I couldn't quite get a handle on it. The site I looked at said you have to work the specifics with a dietitian--is that right? We have been on the Whole Life Challenge diet--not as strict as Whole30, but similar.
pomelo / 5228 posts
@Happygal: It took me some time to get a handle on it too! The basics: Gluten free, zero onion family things, no beans, low dairy. Many fruits and most nuts are off limits too. I think it helps to work with a dietitian, but I was able to figure it out once I downloaded an app by the diet's creator. I did have an appointment with a dietician yesterday though, and I think it was helpful.
Also, its not a forever thing. After about 4 weeks, you can try adding in things by what sugar they are in (fructose, lactose, etc), to see if you are sensitive to it. And once you're all healed, maybe everything is OK? Not quite sure on that yet.
cherry / 195 posts
@Happygal: I have no idea what our next steps might be ... Possibly Letrozole at a higher dose, maybe IUI? Should be an interesting appointment, and of course I'll update after

@Mrs.Someone: what can you eat? What's a sample meal? I really hope it helps you!!
@just_ju: good luck on Monday!
My fave shows are parks and rec & parenthood. I always look forward to Thursday nights! Also lovig Big Bang theory and HIMYM.
I'm stubborn like my mom. Reliable and dedicated like my dad. Everyone says I'm exactly like my father!
Update: I got a trigger yesterday at 11am and think I Od today -- my pain is substantially lower than it has been the last few days, though I do have a full ache and get twinges here and there. I get to test on Nov 6, but I know I'll want to before then.
Question: how long did it take you to test out your trigger? Should I POAS every day starting at 4DPO (maybe Monday)?
pomelo / 5000 posts
@Mrs. Jump Rope: I don't know how long it takes to test out a trigger. Do you like to test a lot in the TWW, or are BFNs tough for you to see?
blogger / coconut / 8306 posts
@Happygal: I started testing kind of early with Chloe because I had a lot of unusual symptoms. I got my positive on 12DPO.
My concern is that I'll get a positive on 12DPO again, but it be the trigger shot and not a pregnancy!
pomelo / 5228 posts
@Mrs. Jump Rope: Its tough! Lots of cooking from scratch. I have to avoid just about every packaged food. Tonight I made chicken fried rice with a side of sauteed greens. At restaurants I can usually have a burger without the bun, or some sort of meat, I just need to tell them GF and no onions/garlic.

DH and I are totally reality junkies on the current DVR line-up we have: survivor, bad girls club, real housewives, teen mom, Chicago fire, ellen, shark tank, and I think that's it.
I have the personality and humor it my dad and the heart and soul of my mom. They are both amazing people and I love them to death!
Updates for me.. Clomid start date is today! Round 2, with a follie check on cd#14. We shall see what this round brings me; hopefully less hot flashes!
blogger / nectarine / 2010 posts
Sorry for not starting this yesterday ladies. My social media presence is slowly getting smaller and smaller and I also completely forgot.
Thanks @happygal: for picking up for me.
pomelo / 5000 posts
@Mrs Bunchy: I didn't have hot flashes when I took Clomid, but I heard they can be intense--what were they like for you? I believe I read taking it at night time can help prevent that. What is your dosage? Good luck!!
@mrs. Polish: no need to apologize. How are you doing?
blogger / nectarine / 2010 posts
@Happygal: good, just busy. Thanks for asking. to answer your question above, my re wanted me to use injects for an iui cycle with male factor. We never got that far, but we were going to.
blogger / coconut / 8306 posts
@mrs bunchy: ditto @Happygal: I've heard from many people that taking clomid at night can reduce the side effects, since you're sleeping through them!
I was told to take mine at the same time every day, so don't switch back and forth between morning & night.
cherry / 195 posts
@Mrs. Jump Rope: I know everyone's body metabolizes the trigger at different rates, but I was told that the trigger is typically out of a woman's system around 10 days past trigger.

@just_ju: thanks! I bought some wonfos today and plan to test it out starting next week.

*What's your favorite TV show right now? Right now I am into Gray's Anatomy, How I meet your mother, and Big Bang Theory. I watch way too much tv.
*How are you like your mom and/or dad? I am very analytical like my dad - everything needs to be organized and planned. I have a lot of the same mannerisms like my mom.
updates: I got my BFP yesterday from our FET!!!!! I still have on more beta test tomorrow but as of now I am knocked up!!!!
@Happygal: We have a male factor issue and did injectibles with an IUI cycle.

What's your favorite TV show right now? i love american horror story, although it freaks me out a little too much sometimes so i wait to watch it until daylight haha - and i love HIMYM and big bang
How are you like your mom and/or dad? my dad and i are very alike work-personality wise - kind of perfectionist, detail oriented, logical. but, my mom and i are more alike in the day to day stuff - a little silly, outgoing, friendly
Updates? it's starting to sink in, and i got a on wednesday! hcg was at 164, now just waiting for the dr to call with today's numbers (and then again on sunday) - it feels totally surreal!
@justdarling: ahhhh congratulations! what day post transfer are you? we're probably right around the same time! my transfer was on october 13th, so i'm 13dp5dt!
pomelo / 5228 posts
@justdarling: @PastaAndPotato: Congrats to you both! So excited for all the great news here in IF land I hope its just the beginning! Keep us updated on your next betas.

@PastaAndPotato: gahh congrats!! Also, I'm watching AHS right now - so far I love this season, and it's so out of character for me because I can't watch horror movies.
*What's your favorite TV show right now? American Horror Story is the one I currently get most excited for. For comedy, probably New Girl or Modern Family or The League.
*How are you like your mom and/or dad? I look a lot like my mom, and we're similar in a lot of other ways too. We do the same sigh after we laugh, which I just recently noticed. I'm shy about talking on the phone, which I got from my dad. I also got his clubbed thumbs.
*Updates? Had my IUI this morning! We hadn't had sex for 4 days so I was worried that DH's motility would be bad, but it was fine (57%) and the total post wash count was 47M so I guess it was a non-issue.

@PastaAndPotato: Congratulations!!!!! My transfer was the 14th so I am one day behind you!!!! My hcg was 225 yesterday and I have another beta tomorrow!
honeydew / 7916 posts
@PastaAndPotato: Huge congratulations!
@Mrs. Jump Rope: Do you remember what you used to trigger? Ovidrel tends to test out faster than an actual HCG trigger like Pregnyl/Novarel...with Pregnyl I sometimes had faint lines 12-13 days past trigger but this cycle it was almost gone 8-9 days out and started to come back after that.

@justdarling: @PastaAndPotato: congrats, congrats, congrats!
@Shutterbug: and now the TWW begins. I'm glad your DH's numbers were good. How are you feeling?

@PastaAndPotato: congrats! Was this a FET or a fresh cycle? How many did you transfer?
apricot / 483 posts
@Mrs.Someone: @Apex: @Mrs.Someone: @Shutterbug: @justdarling: @spaniellove: @Mrs. Jump Rope: @Happygal: @Mrs. Jacks: thank you guys so much!
this was a fresh cycle, and we transferred 2 and froze 2. hcg more than doubled today, so we're looking good
@Shutterbug: good luck! keeping fingers crossed for you!

@Pastaandpotato: it's so exciting! Are you all settled in your house now? Last pic I saw showed it cranked up on cribbing.
When those of you with recent BFPs are comfortable doing so, I recently bumped the infertility success thread. I hope you'll share your story!
nectarine / 2705 posts
@Happygal: We didn't have MF, but we did get our BFP on an injectables/IUI cycle! Lots of luck to you! I think @Trailmix also got pregnant on an injectables/IUI cycle. I know everyone is different, but I thought I'd share to keep you company and help you build your excitement My cycle required a lot more monitoring, but it allowed us to really adjust things as necessary and time it just right. I also had a thin lining on my Clomid cycles, and it all worked out on the injectables cycle.
@PastaAndPotato: @justdarling: SO happy for you both!!! Congrats!!!
@Shutterbug: Is it strange to cheer for an online friend's husbands numbers? 47M! Go Mr. Shutterbug! Good luck with this IUI (ok....now it's feeling a little weird that I just said that...)
grapefruit / 4703 posts
@sweetooth: hahaha not weird at all!! I appreciate the cheerleading
nectarine / 2705 posts
@Shutterbug: Good! I think it's because I had just come across your other thread and you were worried about the timing, and the numbers and all. I was just happy to hear that things worked out!
pomelo / 5000 posts
@Sweetooth: thanks for the encouragement! I appreciate it. What made you decide to combine injectables with an IUI? Just to boost the chances? How are you feeling these days?
I think there's a lot discussed in the TTC world I never would have dreamed of sharing before, like cervical mucous, DH's sperm quality, timing of sex, the thinness of my lining.....it's a whole new world!
pomelo / 5228 posts
@Happygal: All in the hopes that we can move on soon to talking about poop, spit up and sleep?
nectarine / 2705 posts
@Happygal: I wasn't getting the timing right with Clomid and IUI. My follicles were growing too large before the rest of the "setting" was ready to receive. So with injectables, it allowed the rest of my body to progress at it's pace, and we could control the follicle growth by varying my doses. It felt a lot more controlled than my Clomid cycles, which I liked. And it made me realize how brave I can be - I NEVER thought I'd get comfortable with needles. But I did it!
I'm feeling good! Thank you 5 weeks away from my due date!
honeydew / 7916 posts
@sweetooth: Oh mah gah I am so excited for you!!!!! Time really flies!
pomelo / 5000 posts
@Mrs.Someone: yes ma'm, I'd be happy to move on and be talking about those things!
@Spaniellove: you stole the words out of my mouth! I can't believe how quickly time passes. @Sweetooth: It seems like just last month I was celebrating your good news. Can't wait to see pictures of your little babe!
I am technically in the TWW, but would be shocked if I was pregnant with such a thin lining. That would be one scrappy baby to find a way to burrow in and survive! I'm really just focusing on injectables and figuring out my clinic's hours to make sure I can handle the schedule with work.
