Zay started crawling, which is exciting and terrifying at the same time.
Update: AF showed up, 58 days after stopping bcp. Fingers crossed that this will be the start of normal cycles, but with my pcos I'll die holding my breath.

I came home after being away for 10 days on Monday. I missed my DH!
I have an appointment to check my lining tomorrow. If all is good I'll transfer embryos next Wednesday! I'm so over wearing estrogen patches. The skin they are covering feels so sensitive.

I got a call back and go into the Rheumatologist Monday morning.

I can't really think of anything exciting that's happened this week. It's been a very lazy, dull week.
I'll find out tomorrow if beta is on Saturday or Sunday. I'm not expecting good news.

I found out that we will be doing an IVF cycle next month! DH's TESE procedure is on the 9th. I found out that my doc does short cycle IVF so we can start mid- Jan as soon as I get AF. I'm so excited! I hope my man has some sperm in there

Went in today for progesterone levels, found out they're at 28.8. I think that's good, but not sure exactly what it means? Can anyone advise? Last month it was 14, but I did clomid this month, so is much higher. A week from today is the hcg test. Keeping fingers and toes crossed. Trying not to get my hopes up too much, but I'd like to!
@macintosh: so exciting! Will be sending good vibes your way.

DH's birthday is on Monday but we're having a party for him on Saturday. On Sunday, DH and I are having a small holiday meal at home.
No updates... still waiting to hear back about the Rubella.

@Mrs. Polish: mobile baby!!! He's growing up so fast <tear> I feel like his HB auntie LOL
@Leialou: exciting!! next week is the big day hopefully, right?
@T.H.O.U.: wow, that was fast! I know you were worried about a long wait. Good luck!
@SunshineMcC: 28.8 is great! Anything over 10 is good, really.
@macintosh: so exciting!! I'll also be doing an IVF cycle (my first) once I get AF in late Dec/early January. It'll be nice to have a HB buddy

My exciting thing this week... I finally told my mom about my IF/IVF! She was floored - didn't even think we were trying. She didn't react how I thought... mostly she was insanely excited at the thought of a grandchild, or twins, or triplets (I had to reign her in a little LOL!) She also told me she had a miscarriage before she had me, which I never knew. All in all it went really well and I'm SO glad the cat is out of the bag. I cried a heck of a lot though.

@Shutterbug: ahhh! I'm so glad to hear that went well!! You're totes his aunt... We pick our family around here.

@SunshineMcC: That is great, my RE likes to see anything over 20 for a medicated cycle means that you ovulated! Best of luck on your HCG test, positive vibes your way!

@Shutterbug: I am glad to hear you are happy with telling your mom and all went well! Im sure that is a huge relief!

@T.H.O.U.: oh good! I'm glad that you got in so soon.
@macintosh: Eeeek!!
@Shutterbug: I'm so glad that it went well!
@CarrieLouWho: hi there! Hope that you can move forward with your plan and get a BFP very soon!
Hope you all are well My semester is finally over, so I guess it's about time I start thinking about cleaning this house and buying Christmas presents!

@FaithFertility: Thanks for the well wishes! Good to know I definitely ovulated.
Funny, but true story... At our IUI last week the nurse was getting ready for the procedure and all of a sudden she said, "Nice mucus!" I almost fell off the table laughing and DH found it hilarious! So based on that comment we were pretty sure that ovulation was happening then. It's good to be able to laugh about it sometime!
@CarrieLouWho: Welcome! Best of luck to you! How has your experience been with acupuncture? I'm curious but know very little about it!
@Shutterbug: So glad you were able to have a good conversation with your mom! I was very hesitant to share with my parents because I was nervous they'd be constantly checking in with us, but they've been very respectful. I remembered crying my head off when I finally told my mom. It was a nice release (and relief) for her to be in the loop. Sending you hugs and good thoughts!
@Leialou: Good luck with your appt tomorrow! Keep us posted!

Hey all. Nothing too exciting going on here this week, unless you count the appointment I had with a different OBGYN yesterday, and the awesome meltdown I had in his office.
He basically said I don't need to take stims/trigger, and please don't do it again because of the bad "side affects" down the road, like cancer. Um, wtf? Is one or 2 cycles really going to put me at a high risk? There are millions of women who take these drugs. Yes, I might (MIGHT) not have a problem getting pregnant, but it DID take a whole year the 2'nd time. I get so frustrated when people don't understand that I feel like SO much time has been "wasted" in the last 2 years with the 3 miscarriages. He says I am still "young" (AAGGHH, I HATE when ppl say that!) and that I should just keep trying "naturally." ::sigh::
He wants to do a laproscopic exploratory surgery to see what's going on in my uterus. I have to wait til after AF shows to schedule that. On day 43 now and no signs. He says to keep taking the aspirin for now.
So basically nothing new. So frustrating I've been really down in the dumps this week, ever since finding out my friend is pregnant last weekend, and due the same time I would have been due for my last pregnancy. And then all of a sudden on FB we saw that one of our friends just had another baby, and we didn't even know she was pregnant! Her first child just turned one in November, and she had a baby last Saturday. Oh and my due date for the 2nd pregnancy was Sunday.
So...fun times over here. My poor DH has been dealing with my crying and moodiness. Basically I hate the world right now, but I'm really trying hard not to, b/c it's the Holidays.
OH, ok I did think of one positive thing. So I made these (vegan) cupcakes for DH's birthday last weekend, and one of my friends was talking about them to one of her other friends. And, long story short, I have my first paying cupcake customer this weekend! My friend didn't even know they were vegan, until I told her, after she had told her other friend. The other girl still wants them anyway! So that's kinda nice.
Of course, now I have to bake about 50 cupcakes and frost them for tomorrow!
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
@CarrieLouWho: Hope things move quickly for you. AN 85 day cycle is no fun!
@TheSwissWifeStyle: That sounds like a terrible doctor! But yea for the cupcakes! I wish you could send some my way!

@T.H.O.U.: I know right? I already ordered the Puregon (Follistim) ...and shold I NOT go back to the Fertility clinic? I'm just so at a loss right now!
pomelo / 5228 posts
@TheSwissWifeStyle: Sorry you're having a rough time friend Has your doctor looked much into the autoimmune stuff? That was when it really clicked for me. Antibodies make it harder for a baby to implant, and they build up in your system. Each time I got pregnant was after starting a new treatment. Then after the first 2 times, those treatments didn't do the trick again. I really think its the Lovenox that did it. Have you asked your doctor if you can try starting it after ovulation? In other news, so awesome about your cupcake gig! I'd love to be able to bake for a living
If you ladies don't mind, I'm going to stick around here for a few more weeks, since I haven't even had real confirmation that anyone is in there.
This week hasn't been too exciting. The one thing that was pretty cool was that I was shopping for a bake sale (the group is baking together). I got the Safeway ap and "clipped" coupons, getting a ton of stuff for less than $50 We hope to turn it in to about $700!
Not much of an update from me... My ND and I agreed that betas are unnecessary, so I'm just holding on until that 6w ultrasound. 6w is actually the week of Xmas, so I'm not sure I'll be able to schedule it for then anyway, but I'm not willing to call until next week (when I'm past the point I started bleeding last time).
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts
@TheSwissWifeStyle: I'm sorry. That sounds very frustrating!
@Shutterbug: I'm glad you were able to talk to your mom. It's such a relief to not keep the secret.
My appointment went great! According to my doctor my uterus is "fluffy and beautiful." Transfer is scheduled for Wednesday!

I'm starting to get so discouraged. I'm not enjoying TTC anymore and I'm not excited about getting pregnant. I don't think I'll relax until the baby is in my arms.
If you took a break, why did you? Did you try to change anything during the break (like diet/exercise)?
Thanks to preschool, the three of us have been sick off and on since September. I seem to get sick either right before O or during my TWW. I've been on antibiotics twice now & am sick again. I'm taking OPKs yesterday- Sunday and my lh is non-existent. Faintest line ever on the test strips. I don't even think I'll O this month. I kind of just want to give up but I know I'll regret it.
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
@Mrs.Someone: Good luck at getting something scheduled! I know what you mean about wanting to make sure something is "really in there".
@Leialou: Great update! I bet you are so excited for Wednesday to get here!
@Mrs. Jump Rope: I'm sorry. I totally know what you mean about not even being excited even if I did get pregnant. After two losses (one early and one later) I won't really believe it until I'm at least half way there. I am a big believer that some times you have to take a break and not worry about things. For me, that included giving up OPK but I did regret it last time when I went crazy waiting for AF. Since you have a plan for January maybe just take December off and focus on plans for next month?

Nothing too exciting happening for me this week. Although we are going to my Aunt and Uncle's Christmas party tomorrow and I am looking forward to that. It is my favorite family event of the year.
No updates for me, just waiting for new insurance coverage in February.
blogger / coconut / 8306 posts
@T.H.O.U.: I don't want to take December off because I'm already half way through a medicated cycle. I'm cd13 and was expecting to get a surge on cd15. The lines on the opk always start to get darker around now, but they're pretty much non-existent.
I'm worried my levels will be low and I'll need to do a trigger shot this month -- which I really don't want to do.
I'm considering taking January-March off.
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
@Mrs. Jump Rope: Sorry, I just meant take the month off from charting/using OPKs etc. Just DTD when you feel like it and hope for the best. Like I said, it definitely made me crazy in the TWW though because I didn't specifically know when O date was so I wasn't sure when to expect AF.
I thought you had plans to move forward with the IUI in January (sorry if I missed something or plans changed).
pear / 1556 posts
@Mrs. Polish: Yay for Zay crawling! I can see where it would be scary though too!
@Leialou: I hope your appointment goes well!! FX!
@T.H.O.U.: So glad you were able to get in for an appointment!
@just_ju: FX for you!
@macintosh: That's such an exciting update! I am thrilled for you!
@SunshineMcC: 28.8 is a great number!
@Shutterbug: I am so glad you were able to have a good conversation with your mom! I know how hard it is to tell people, but I usually end up feeling a little bit better after I do.
@CarrieLouWho: Welcome! I love acupuncture. It sounds like you have a good solid plan going forward! Best of luck to you!
@TheSwissWifeStyle: I'm sorry about your bad experience, that doctor sounds awful! My RE has some different theories about fertility treatments like clomid and higher rates of ovarian cancer. He told me not to worry about it too much.
@Mrs.Someone: Sending all sorts of good sticky baby thoughts your way!!!
@Mrs. Jump Rope: I'm sorry you are discouraged I definitely know what that feels like. I find that sometimes I am really discouraged for a couple months and then I sort of snap out of it a bit and am better for a while. It kind of comes in waves for me.
blogger / coconut / 8306 posts
@T.H.O.U.: we talked about moving on to an IUI next month, but I'm having major doubts about TTC in general. I'm considering taking a few months off and focusing on my health and weight. I am convinced if I lost 20-30lbs, it would be easier for us..
grapefruit / 4703 posts
@Mrs. Jump Rope: I took a month off from medications (technically 2 because I'm on BC this cycle) but for the same reasons @T.H.O.U.: mentioned I still temped/charted until I pinpointed O, just so I wouldn't go crazy thinking AF was late. It was really nice not to take any drugs, get any bloodwork or ultrasounds for a while, but I think part of that was knowing I had a plan in place later on (January). I'm sorry you're feeling so discouraged. Do you think you could get referred to a specialist like @Mrs.Someone: did with the perionatologist? or maybe since you can't do the RPL testing right now you could take some OTC steps like baby aspirin?
blogger / coconut / 8306 posts
@Shutterbug: I'll have to ask about the aspirin. It wasn't mentioned, but I'll be going in for blood work sometime between tomorrow and Monday.
Yes, it would be really nice to not have an appointment or be on any meds.
pomelo / 5228 posts
@T.H.O.U.: @Sunshine1810: Thanks ladies!
@Mrs. Jump Rope: Sorry you're feeling discouraged I honestly don't think your problem right now is getting pregnant, since you've done it twice on your own, and once medicated all within a short amount of time. I hate that your insurance won't cover RPL testing yet! I agree with Shutterbug, maybe looking into seeing a Perio would be a good idea?
And to answer your question, we took 2 month-long breaks. The first one was for my MTHFR supplement to "kick in", the second was after my 2nd loss (for testing). I didn't want to try again until I had some answers, because I was convinced it would happen again. Also, emotionally, we just couldn't try that month.
blogger / coconut / 8306 posts
@Mrs.Someone: thanks. I'm betting I need a referral to a perio. I have my annual next week so I'll talk to my OB on Tuesday. I can ask my RE on Monday, too.

Anything exciting this week? Picked up DH from the airport from being gone for the past 2 weeks. Then had my company holiday party last night. AF, also, showed up yesterday. About 4 days after I was expecting it. I wonder if my luteal phase is getting longer. When I monitored it months ago, it was roughly 14 days. Now that I'm doing accupunture and meds here and there, I see my LP extending to 16-17 days. Maybe that explains my very late BFN period two months ago.
As for this weekend, I have to work but I'm looking forward to starting horseback riding lessons. I booked this about 2 months ago and was slightly concerned that I might be pregnant and wondered if I would have to cancel. Well, I'm not pregnant, so I'm excited about it!
pomelo / 5228 posts
@bluestriped bee: Have you been taking OPKs or somehow verifying when you O? I don't remember if you do this with your IUIs or not. Its not very common for an LP to be that long unless you're on progesterone too. Though I guess the meds could be switching things all around too...
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@Mrs.Someone: Yeah, I'm using OPKs and plus triggered last month, too.
pomelo / 5228 posts
@bluestriped bee: Hmm, odd then. Has your RE said anything about it?
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@Mrs.Someone: I'm going to mention it when I see them in January.

GAH sorry I have to share!! I called my RE today just to bug them about the Rubella blood test results and they said they still hadn't gotten them and this time they acted like that was strange (last week they said it could take up to 6 weeks, but suddenly 3 weeks was unusual?). Well I asked if was there any chance they got lost or something and they said they'd call the clinic that did the blood and check for me.
Well they DID get lost somehow, which is frustrating because who knows when the results were actually ready, but whatever!!
I am officially immune to Rubella, so I am cleared to start treatment in January!!!! YAY! FINALLY AH!
bananas / 9899 posts
@Mrs.Someone: ME TOO. Now I can just countdown the days to January 2nd, when I will hopefully get Provera.
