We're hanging out with the snow! I love where I live in VA--we get snow often enough that the city is prepared and can handle it, but big snows are every few years or so, so people are so excited. My FB is filled with videos and pictures of dog and kids playing in the snow.
If my cycle is the usual 30-31 days like my pre-fertility meds days, I guess I'll test in a week or so. Maybe earlier? I really don't think I'm pregnant, but I guess I should have confirmation before we go on our cruise and I start enjoying adult beverages. I'm not sure when I ovulated though, making it tricky to pick out a test date!

Today is day 4 of IVF stims. We have a monitoring appointment tomorrow morning. Hoping we can get there no problem through the snow. We've got a foot, and our county isn't great about clearing it!
My doctor called yesterday to start me on antibiotics for chronic endometritis. That was a surprise since we're dealing with male factor IF. Best I can tell from googling, I might have developed it as a result of some of the testing we did. Anyone have experience with endometritis? (Definitely not the same as endometriosis!)

@Mrs. Polish: Sorry about your BFN. Hugs!!
I'm okay. Today is 13DPO or maybe today is 12DPO. (My trigger shot was done on 1/31 and IUI was done on 2/1) I'm going to POAS tomorrow or Saturday. I going to see if I can hold out til Saturday or Friday night. Every now and then I'll find the urge to test but I want wait.
I have kinda weird symptoms but trying not to get my hopes up. I've realized that you can google almost any symptom and find someone in this world that has had it so I need to stay off Dr. Google. So far this cycle, I've been really good about it.
As for other updates- Still living out of boxes but chipping away at unpacking them. Getting our office setup so I can do my taxes. Hope that gets done this weekend.

@thisisme: they treated me for it, as an outside chance for why I have recurrent chemicals. I think the endometrial biopsy showed inflammation or something, I've always been asymptomatic and they said they wouldn't treat it except in this case because many women have it. on the bad side, I felt like crap when I was taking the two strong antibiotics they had me do, and it didn't solve my problem. on the good side, I know many people have done antibiotics with IVF and had success, so I hope it helps you!

update: I'm going to the RE today - thankfully they did not cancel my appointment - messy here in Boston but not too bad overall. hopefully it will go ok and we'll get a good new plan. I hate unexplained issues because no one knows how to treat it and you just have to guess.
turns out I might be ovulating this cycle while DH is on a work trip - going to make every effort to BD as much as we can around his trip as he can't cancel it. I'm still having hot flashes every night from clomid on CD12 (I stopped CD7) so I really want to give this cycle a shot.

@bluestriped bee: I'm in the same boat as you! Wanted to wait until Saturday to test but now I'm temped to tomorrow...

I'm going symptom spotting crazy. My IUI was on the 4th, making today 9dpo. Logically I know it's too early, but every time there's the littlest hint of anything, I think "maybe ..." It's so annoying :). My 7dpo progesterone came back at 42 (last time was 35). I know it doesn't mean anything, but I'm glad it was higher this time. Hopefully it means good things for Tuesday.

@just_ju still reassuring to have such a high progesterone. Level. Fingers crossed for you

Started AF yesterday and just picked up my clomid today to start tomorrow. Joy! It's actually nice today weather wise. I think it's above 20!!

@bhbee: Thanks! I'd never heard of endometritis till yesterday. So far, I feel ok with all of the meds in me. It stinks when travel schedules get in the way! Good luck!

I haven't read everyone's post yet because I need to vent a bit.
Today I called the RE because I wanted to know why I wasn't being monitored on clomid. I had concerns from another thread I posted. Basically the nurse called me back after I left a message and was kind of snippy because I didn't leave my chart number or spell my last name, so she had to look me up by my phone number. Then she got kind of condescending with me about monitoring and I got pissed. I held it together until a bit later when I decided I have had enough of this practice and I want to go somewhere else so I called and scheduled a second opinion appointment at another office. There are other things that are getting to me besides today, like most of my concerns are brushed off (asked about a hysteroscopy and was told it's not necessary because my HSG was good, asked about monitoring, was told it was to keep cost down for me and there is no reason to think something might go wrong) and I feel like my doc is really pushing lap with no evidence to support finding problems. He said he thinks there could be endo (no symptoms) or scarring from previous pelvic infections (no solid evidence I ever had a pelvic infection). That's not enough for me to have surgery right now. So now I have an appointment in two weeks at a new place. I'm worried about it but at the same time I don't think it's good when I try to advocate for myself and I get put down.
Sorry for the novel, I'm just in such a bad mood about all this. I think part of it is the clomid,

@MrsTal: Good for you for sticking up for yourself! You absolutely should feel listened to by your doctors office. If you're lucky enough to have more than one RE in your area, I hope you're able to find an office that makes you feel more comfortable.
I think sometimes doctors and their staff forget that we don't all do what they do day in and day out. That's still no excuse for them brushing you off or being annoyed at your questions.

@Mrs. Polish: ha! I thought of you this morning when my husband shoveled the drive way. He came in and said he wouldn't want to live somewhere where the winters were long. How quickly the romantic idea of winter faded for him!
@thisisme: I haven't heard of that before, but I like the sounds of a doctor being proactive! How many more days of meds do you have to take?
@bluestriped bee: stay strong! I wanted to test early, but my husband didn't let me. I'm glad he held me to it so there was no doubt about whether we were seeing the trigger or not. I'll check Saturday night for an update from you!
@bhbee: how was your appointment? I'm looking forward to hearing how it went!! I hope the timing can work out for you and your husband.
@just_ju: oooooh, sounds promising! If people get a positive as early as 10 dpo, I think it's not unimaginable for symptoms to be showing at 9 dpo.
@mrs bunchy: I hope today has been a better day for you. Did you enjoy a drink last night? We're going on Celebrity Cruise to the Caribbean. They're a sister cruise to Royal Caribbean, but supposedly a step up nicer. What about you guys?
@MrsTal: time to move on! Is there another practice in your area? I'm sorry you have to deal with rude people. You know where I stand on monitoring, so I'm glad you're sticking up for yourself.

@thisisme: I had never heard of endometritis before!
@just_ju: It's so hard not to symptom spot! The TWW always seems to take foreverrr
I am starting stims for my first IVF cycle. It's the only cycle my insurance will pay for, so basically all my fingers and toes are crossed.

@MrsTal: you should definitely stick up for yourself, and also find a place where you are comfortable and they will work with you and talk through all the options. there is nothing worse than a bad nurse since you interact with them so much.
@Happygal: honestly I was super depressed after the appt. didn't help I had to trudge over in all this slush but really it was just disappointing. I felt like the RE had no answers . . . I know there are no answers, but I wish he seemed more like he had a plan. I stood up for myself and asked a lot of questions and made suggestions (DH couldn't make it unfortunately) and ended up with a plan I can live with - metformin and 2 more cycles of 100mg clomid. another appt in mid-April if no success and at that point who knows. I found out my clinic does not use femara, period, so that's not an option.
I feel like he wanted to push to IVF, in his words to rule out embryo quality issues. I said we are not ready for that at all, going through all those meds and treatment only to see whether or not a "good" embryo would make it or not - with a fair chance of another chemical because we have no reason to believe embryo quality is the issue. we may get there but I am not ready yet.
sorry for the long post . . . just felt so crappy like I was doomed. but really I think we have a good shot in these 100mg clomid cycles and metformin can only help. and I would love it if it helped me lose some weight! silver lining!

@ShayNanigans: exciting! When do you start?
@bhbee: I'm so sorry to hear that. Truthfully, I didn't care for my RE at first, but our relationship has grown. I hope it will be the same for you! Might there be another doctor in the practice that would be a better fit?
blogger / pear / 1563 posts
@thisisme: Oh good luck! But, I don't have any experience with endo, although I also suspect I might have it too, but have never gotten it checked or anything. @bluestriped bee: Good for you for having self control about POAS! I hope you get good news!
@bhbee: I'm so sorry about DH being out of town and clomid yuckiness. What a pain. I hope one of these next few cycles gets you the BFP!
@just_ju: Wow! What a great progesterone level! Good luck this cycle!
@Mrs. Polish: Blech. I'm so sorry for the Also, I just noticed all the different symbols for the first time since I'm slow.
@MrsTal: Ugh. I'm so sorry! I'm glad you're getting a second opinion! It will either confirm what your first Dr. has said or you'll get better information and service. Also, don't you just HATE it when the nurses are snippy! I mean, we pay them!

The conference for adoptive moms was wonderful. It was such a refreshing and inspiring weekend! Then when I got home I got sick. So, I'm feeling yucky and wishing I didn't have to go to work tomorrow.
BUT, on the upside DH and I plan to celebrate Valentine's Day by using a coupon for a BBQ for 2 full racks of ribs for $25. ha! I've been looking forward to it all week!
And even though we're in the southeast the snow totally missed us again and I'm sad about it. We have not had ANY snow this whole season even though it's the coldest winter since I've been here (for 10 years!) So, with no snow I'm now officially ready for spring.

@bluestriped bee: @LindsayInNY: FX for both of you.
I'm still waiting on my second cycle post FET to start. My last period was on 12/28. After my fresh cycle failed I used provera to get my period to come back so we could do the FET. I don't want to do that this time since we're really not in a rush. I would like for it to show up though and get things back to normal.

@Happygal: Have you cruised before? We are going in April for the first time and I'm excited! You'll have to tell me how your trip goes. And thank you so much for your input on the monitoring thing, I thought it seemed weird they were only doing blood work and your comments confirmed it. I hope the new doc is a better fit.
@Mrs. Polish: winter will end soon. I think. I hope. It does seem endless this year tho. I really hope AF shows up for you soon, it's annoying waiting around if you keep getting s
@thisisme: I hope you get to your appointment! This winter is ridiculous
@bluestriped bee: I too can always find someone who had a weird symptom and was pregnant so I try to stay away from Google but it.is.so.hard. FX for you! Also, unpacking is the worst.
@bhbee: what is your clomid dosage?
@LindsayInNY: FX for you!
@mrs bunchy: which line are you cruising with and where? We are going in April and I'm pumped. I'm on day 3 of clomid, what's your dosage this time and what days?
@thisisme: I definitely think they get desensitized to it a bit and can forget how hard it is and how nerve wracking. I'm really lucky that I have more than one RE in the area so I can try someone else. I'm just frustrated that this one didn't work out because one of my friends goes to him and she LOVES him and his nurses.
@ShayNanigans: all fingers and toes are crossed for you here too! I hope this is it for you!
@bhbee: Nurses can really make or break the experience, that's for sure.
@Mrs. Pinata: I know! I kind of wanted to be like, I have a question I'm paying you for your service, please be nicer to me.
I'm glad the conference was awesome, but sorry you got sick! I hope your valentines day rocks!
@Leialou: FX AF shows up naturally and soon for you.

Waiting for results from my internal ultrasound to then get an appointment with a fertility specialist at the hospital I want to go to.
New job was announced at work so no more stress of keeping it in. No OPKs this month, just enjoying my life and enjoying wine until I have some answers

@Mrs. Pinata: that's awesome that you had a time to connect with other adoptive parents! And BBQ for Valentine's day sounds right up my alley. Hope you feel better soon.
@Leialou: I'm glad you're not feeling rushed, but I was sorry to read your other thread. I haven't been at this as long as you, but I do feel like I'm reaching a point where friends who have had baby #1 are starting to talk about TTC for #2. That will be tough. I do like that workbook I mentioned and think it's worth checking out!
@MrsTal: I've been on two cruises before--one when I was about 13, and the other about 5 years ago. First one was a bust, second one was great. I found it very relaxing. Where will you go in April?

@Happygal: Your cruise will be so much fun!
@Mrs. Polish: Sorry you are still waiting for AF

@mrs bunchy: Yay for getting started, are you doing the Clomid with an IUI?
@bhbee: Hopefully the scheduling all works out
@MrsTal: Sorry about your RE's office. I switched clinics after putting up with too much crap from the original one, I wish I had switched earlier
@ShayNanigans: Everything crossed for you this cycle
@bhbee: I'm glad you came up with some sort of plan. Its frustrating when they seem to push IVF
@Mrs. Pinata: Glad you had a good time at the conference and the ribs sound amazing
@Leialou: Hope AF shows up soon (sounds so wrong) so that you can get started on your FET cycle
@babycanuck: Sounds like things are moving along. Congrats on the new job

I'm doing alright today. I have been swamped at work, traveling a lot but am looking forward to the long weekend.
I had my IUI last Saturday, not testing for at least 7 more days, really just hanging out.

kiwi / 533 posts
@Happygal: @MrsTal: we're doing navigator of the seas by royal Caribbean and port at: Roatan, Honduras- Belize City, Belize-Cozumel, Mexico and Galveston, Texas.
This will be my 3rd cruise and #1 for DH.
@mrswin: this will be clomid cycle #6 no IUI just monitoring. It will be cycle 4 on 100mg which is actually showing promising ovulation.. Now we just need to have something stick!

@mrs bunchy: @mrstal: we're going to St. Kitts, St. Maarten, and San Juan. I'm really excited to drink coffee on our balcony every morning, read lots of books, and get to lay on a beach or two. Oh, and eat good food and not have to make any major decisions. I kind of wish I had been motivated to work out before the cruise, but I think we'll be about 15-20 years younger than most of the other passengers, so at least I'll appear youthful!
@mrs bunchy: I went to Roatan before it was a cruise port! I loved it. If you scuba dive, it's great for that and you might get to see a whale shark.
@mrswin: do you like getting to travel for your job? I'm glad you're staying busy in the TWW. Half way through!
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts
@mrs bunchy: that's the cruise I went on for my honeymoon! Except we didn't leave for Galveston. Roatan is my favorite place that I've ever cruised to. It is so beautiful!
AF arrived today! I'm surprised and happy that my body is getting back on track. A 48 day cycle after fertility drugs isn't too bad. I think I let this cycle be another natural cycle. Then for my next (March/April) I will go back on the pill and try to do the FET the one after that (April/May).

@mrs bunchy: that sounds amazing! I hope you have an awesome time!
@Happygal: haha! I love the attitude about working out. I just started too again but I also signed up for a 5k in July so I need to get on this lol. I hope it's super relaxing for you!

@Happygal: I've been to St Maarten and San Juan on a different cruise- had a blast!!!
@Leialou: so excited to hear that you loved it!! My Dh's best friend lives back in utah and we only see them maybe 2x a year and he let DH know they were going (we share same wedding anniversary in October) and wanted us to join!
