@travellingbee: It was Tuesday! We transferred one embryo, a beautiful hatching blasty! And we found out on Wednesday that we were able to freeze 4! Now the waiting game...

Hope it's okay if I jump in on this board and blab a little... I think you guys probably have some of the best perspective, advice, and understanding when it comes to IF. I have been stalking, clearly, and I'm a huge cheerleader to all of you. Love hearing your updates and I have so much hope in my heart for you ladies.
I fully admit that I'm just starting the process of testing and treatment (we're at the year mark), so I know that's nothing compared to the multi-year journey that plenty of women go through before their little bundle arrives. But I am a little clueless and scared about what this year could bring, treatment wise, so am grateful to be able to tag along in your journeys. I have already learned a ton.
Where I'm at: Recently had an initial consult with an RE, day 3 bloodwork, and HSG. DH had his SA. HSG looked clear but we'll meet with the RE next week to talk results/treatment. Sounds like I'll probably go on Clomid and we'll consider IUI. I'll ask her if I should do one cycle on Clomid to see what happens I guess? I'm so clueless but want to advocate for myself. This is also my 3rd month w/acupuncture.
I also just had one of my best friends text me a few min ago that she is expecting. She is the 11th or 12th person close to me who is expecting this year, so it's just plain ol' overwhelming at this point. Like we will literally be surrounded by babies by the fall. I dont know whether to laugh or cry! I'm sure you're all familiar with those crazy complex emotions...
Anyways thanks for listening, sending you my warmest thoughts and prayers to you all and can't wait to hear more about your journeys on this thread

@sarahnicole218: Wow, what an amazing cycle you've had!
@YogiRunner: Sounds like you're well covered for most initial stuff - I'd just hear out what your specialist recommends for you. Sometimes people start with timed intercourse (in a monitored cycle) before Clomid or IUI - but there are lots of options, so it comes down to your situation. xxx
Lining scan is in 6 days... counting down!!!

I just met with my OB for a WTF appointment and boy, was that a waste of time. She essentially said that everything looks normal and we've done all that we could. The next course of action would be an IVF consult.
I do have an RE appointment scheduled at the end of April, so we will see what she says. I'm actually hoping I get pregnant before then, but realistically, I'll be meeting with her. The OB says that with how strong I ovulate and all other normal tests that an IUI wouldn't be worth it. I'm curious to see what the RE will say.. (especially since the only monitoring I had was progesterone blood tests - no ultrasounds).

@YogiRunner: I'll tell you what, the one year mark was the hardest time for me! So you should not be ashamed of your feelings, because they are totally and completely justified. I hope you find some comfort here, because IF freaking sucks, but these ladies are amazing!
Our first intervention was Clomid + TI. We took a NTNP break after our painful one year mark and then we had some marriage struggles for a couple months in late spring 2014. Once we were ready to try again, we went straight to Clomid + IUIs because were were tired of the stress of TI. Unfortunately, they were not successful either, but I did feel better about actually doing something more than just TTC on our own. From there, we FINALLY went to a RE and obviously, now we are trying IVF. We are just in our first 2WW post embryo transfer right now!

@NorthStar: I found my OB to be pretty worthless too. They really aren't qualified to do anything but basic testing and obvious diagnosis imo. Based on what you say though, it sounds like you're in the dreaded unexplained category. Definitely go at a pace you are comfortable with. If you're not ready for IVF, push for IUI and or oral or injectible meds first. Your next and only option certainly does not have to be IVF.

@PurplePumps: Thanks I've already done 5 cycles of letrozole/femara and the OB did say that if this cycles doesn't work, I can do that again while I wait for my appointment. I probably will because 'why not?'..I am pretty hopeful this time, though - I've never had spotting before a period and at 6-7DPO and the streaks that I had yesterday? It certainly makes me think implantation bleeding. But, I've also become accustomed to be crushed the past 20 months.

@NorthStar: Sorry to butt in here but I am a graduate of this thread and am always cheering you ladies on. I just wanted to say that since you never had ultrasound monitoring with your medicated cycles the RE may suggest doing at least one with monitoring to at least have some idea of how your body responds to the meds, how many follicles mature, etc.

Catching up after stepping away for a week...
@travellingbee: yay for moving forward!
@AmeliaBedilia: I don't have any ideas for you, but I'm glad you have a plan of attack.
@YogiRunner: when is your follow up? Come in any time to chat / whine / cheerlead / ask for a virtual hug. I'm sorry you have to join the club. And I know how devastating it is to hear friends' good news. I had 3 people in my life announce preganacies in the last week. It's one of the ugly sides of IF - feeling envious / hurt / sad at other peoples' joy. You're not alone. <hugs>
@jaguar: I hope your lining scan brings good news for a transfer. <fx>
@NorthStar: My OB wasted 3 months of my life. I wish I had just gone straight to an RE. And I would have been able to pick up my insurance and be doing IVF right now instead of having to wait. I'm sorry that your appt was so unhelpful. I hope that the RE appt is more fruitful in April. Would the RE do a phone consult first to schedule tests ahead of the appt so you can have results by the time you meet?

@sarahnicole218: @PurplePumps: @Hoots: thank you ladies all so much for sharing your experiences and relationship thoughts with me. I really appreciate it. It's nice to know I'm not alone, and that my feelings are valid and that DH's are too. That just because he's experiencing this differently than I am doesn't mean he doesn't love me, it doesn't mean he's wrong, and it doesn't mean that he isn't sad too. We're working on things in counseling (we were already going together, which is good in this case).
I had to step away from all of this for a week. I had 3 friends announce pregnancies in the past week, and fell into a really miserable pity-party-for-one depression and slept most of the weekend. I got my period on Sunday while my DH was in NYC with my brothers. I cried. I raged in my head. And now I'm trying to let it go (emphasis on trying).
I'm going to ask the RE if I can start on the pill now to regulate my cycle, and if we somehow manage to get me on my company's insurance by April 1, I would already have the bcp portion started.

@ballerinabee: I'm not sure? I didn't even think to ask that..I got AF this morning, so onto the next cycle. ick.
What a horrible week for you I completely understand the trying to let go, but it's so hard! Thinking of you..

Hope you guys don't mind me joining in! We are currently in our 13th cycle - dh had a urology appointment yesterday and he has slightly low sperm count (36 mil, originally thought it was only 5 mil) as well as slightly low motility (47%). I have my first RE appointment on the 26th, all my testing so far has come back normal.
I live in CT which has mandated infertility coverage (thank goodness), and I'm thinking about skipping straight to ivf since it has the best results, but I guess we will see!

@MrsKRB: Good luck with your decision, you'll find great support here! I hope your stay is short!

@NorthStar: I'm really sorry about AF Can you call the RE's office and see if they'll put in for you to do some testing ahead of time? You could do the day 3 labs this week, at a minimum. I wonder if your DH could do an SA somewhere closeby that could send the results to the RE. Either way, having an appt is a great next step.
@sarahnicole218: Thanks! I hope you're not going too stir crazy over there waiting for your beta. My fingers are crossed so tightly for you!
@MrsKRB: sorry you have to join us in here, but welcome! mandatory coverage sounds wonderful! My DH's company is exempt from that here because they're a small business, so I'm SOL unless we can get them to drop me, or until open enrollment. <twiddles thumbs in frustration>
I have SUCH spring fever! It's warming up a bit here, and I just want to take time off and clean / purge everything at home. I'm SO terrible about it (I'm the pack rat child of 2 pack rats), so I need to get on it, but have so little free time.
