What cycle are you on/how long have you been TTC? About to start month 18...
What are your plans for this cycle? None. Still on a break before our first IUI
How is your attitude/outlook? Too busy with work to care very much at the moment!
What have you struggled with most this week? Trying to decide if we should do the IUI in August or September
What is your diagnosis? Mild PCOS and mild MFI (count)

Started herbs from my ND, DH is taking some supplements

How is your attitude/outlook?
Mostly positive

What have you struggled with most this week?
Trying hard not to go to Crazy-symptom-spotting Town. I'm 4dpo and things are different, but trying to ignore it since I know its too early to be anything.

What is your diagnosis?
MTHFR, Hashimoto's, had a blocked tube until last month...

If you could live in any country besides the one you're currently in, where would you live?
Australia, we have family and friends there and its a great place to visit.

@mrs. polish: I've been happy with once a week! Once every other week would also be great. Once a month I think would be longer than I'd like. Once a week or every other week helps to make keeping track of everyone a lot easier and faster.

@Mrs. Polish: I think once a week is perfect too, a lot can change in a short amount of time especially during treatment cycles!

What cycle are you on/how long have you been TTC?
-cycle 24/ since May 2011

What are your plans for this cycle?
-I took Clomid. I had my progesterone and estrogen blood draw on Wed. I heard from my RE's office that both numbers look good and I definitely ovulated.

How is your attitude/outlook?
-I'm pretty blah about it. I know that this cycle is a long shot because we have MFI, so I'm trying to be realistic. But I don't want to be hopeless either.

What have you struggled with most this week?
-I'm 9dpo and don't feel any different. I'm trying not to think about that and concentrate on getting ready to leave for vacation next Friday. It's hard!

What is your diagnosis?
-MF. My DH has a balanced chromosome translocation that is causing his IF.

If you could live in any country besides the one you're currently in, where would you live?
-France! After I brush up on my French of course.

@thereeldeal: Cycle buddy!! I LOL-d when I read about your biggest struggle this week because it was the same for us, too! Even with the IUI, they wanted to cover their bases and had us BD a whole lot this week. AND, my RE's office - for some reason - has us typically wait until 15DPO to give me the beta. That one extra day is so excruciating! Good luck in your TWW!

Doing a monitored cycle (u/s + b/w) but no treatment.

How is your attitude/outlook?
Relieved that almost a year after starting with fertility specialists, we're finally done with testing. Trying to ignore the growing pressure from the clinic to do IVF.

What have you struggled with most this week?
All the clinic chaos.

What is your diagnosis?
DOR, hypothyroid, low progesterone, endometriosis.

If you could live in any country besides the one you're currently in, where would you live?
Maybe Korea? Mostly for the food and the shopping!

What have you struggled with most this week? Today was brutal. We consented to PGD on our embryos in case we produced a lot of blastocysts this cycle. Today, the nurse called us to tell us that of my 17 eggs, 12 could be ICSI'd and 10 were still alive this morning. I was like, say what?--it was NEVER explained to us that PGD involved ICSI, and we wouldn't have consented to it if we knew since it is something that DH was always very uncomfortable with because of the invasiveness at the early stage and increased risk of birth defects (especially because we don't need it having had a 85% fertility rate last time). DH was furious and called our doctor. Our doctor returned our call and did apologize a number of times, which made us feel slightly better, but we are still quite upset over it. What's done is done, but I have even thought about just freezing what we have and moving on from this cycle. I cried most of the day, just feeling sick about all of the decisions I have had to make in this process and trying to do what is best for the embryos. And for some reasons I just can't seem to think this cycle will end with a positive outcome. Maybe my hormones are crashing, but I am seriously losing my s@$t.
What is your diagnosis? Endo, and also found out this week I have high prolactin and MTHFR mutation (compound heterozygous). Great.

@raintreebee: That is a lot of unexpected news for you to take in at once! Especially when you're going through something as big as IVF. Do they do ICSI with PGD to ensure that they get as many eggs fertilized as possible?

@spaniellove: it's to ensure that there is no sperm fragment that got into the egg from a sperm that wasn't the fertilizer, throwing off the pgd results. Apparently, it is very standard for pgd to include it but it's not mentioned on our clinic's site or that of the genetics lab, was not in the consents, and our doc never mentioned It. He obviously felt bad but we are so upset since we were on the fence about doing pgd anyway.
@justdarling: thank you! I could use a hug. DH is at his college reunion, and I stayed behind because am still recovering from retrieval and this news.

@tequiero21: Thank you. That does make me feel better. Also just to hear you were successful. I know the risks are minute, but its just the idea of icsi on top of the pgd that makes me very protective of my embryos! I am hoping that in about 38 weeks this will all be a hazy memory.

@raintreebee: ah gosh, that's so stressful, and then to not have DH around (I hope he's back now!) Biiig virtual hugs for you!

@spaniellove: thank you. I don't hear any progress updates on the embryos until Tuesday unfortunately.

@ineebee: Disney World! We're going to 9 days with my family.

@TheSwissWifeStyle: Glad you were able to have that discussion with your doctor and communicate that! I did read recently that the biopsy can tell if your lining is "out of phase" but that seems like something to test for after everything else or if you have a real reason to suspect it.

You can call me Dr. Ineebee because I went against my doctor's instructions based on what I've learned about TTC and it turns out I made the right call! My IUI was on CD15, but that morning, I didn't see a dip in my BBT. Dr. told me to start progesterone suppositories on the morning of CD16, but I decided to hold off in case they had my O date wrong (because progesterone holds off ovulation, am I right?). Whaddya know, I had a temp drop on CD16 and a huge spike CD17, so I decided to start progesterone on CD17. BULLET MISSED!

I can't believe I could've accidentally prevented O from happening if I'd started the progesterone when they said to! I'm so thankful for everything I've learned here on HB so that I could be an active participant in my treatment. So big hugs to all of you ladies for educating me and countless others on the nuances of this journey! Hugs to everyone! (And here's hoping it wasn't for nothing.)
