@ineebee: That's awesome! Yeah for you taking matters into your own hands!
Today I'm grateful to my SHG dr for saying I might ovulate even with a cyst and should come in for monitoring despite what I was told earlier. The cyst hasn't budged but I have a 14.7mm follie on the other side!

@shutterbug: Thanks!!
@spaniellove: Yay for your SHG Dr.! And yay for follie! I'm so glad for you that you can try this cycle even with the cyst. The human body never ceases to amaze me.

Hi ladies--quick update. Not so great news from me. Although I had 17 eggs retrieved, 11 fertilized, and 10 ongoing at Day 3, only 4 made it to blastocyst stage on Day 5 (yesterday). We transferred 2 early basts that couldn't yet be graded, and the other 2 were being watched for later development. Today, we learned that the other 2 didn't advance as much as we hoped, so they couldn't be frozen. In fact, none of the blasts were advanced enough for PGD so we did ICSI for nothing, possibly affecting embryo quality. Anyway, I am feeling pretty devastated since the transferred blasts are of much poorer quality than the ones in my prior unsuccessful transfers. Amazing that we were told at the beginning of all of this that we would be a straightforward, easy IVF case. We have the quantity just not the quality it seems.
Sorry for being self-absorbed, I will go back and catch up on everyone else when I have more energy.

@raintreebee: I'm so sorry to hear it turned out this way...hopefully it will work out with at least one of the two you transferred. Things seem so dismal right now but today you're PUPO with your babies.

@raintreebee: hugs! Sorry it didn't turn out the way you hoped, but I'm praying that the 2 that got transferred are your 2 babies u are meant to have!
Can I ask why they wait until 5 days? I'm not even really sure, or at least I forget. I know they told me they'll let me know if its a 3 or 5 day transfer and they said it was ready by 3.... So I was ready by 3 and I thought they said my embryos looked great... Don't remember them telling me there was a problem. Is it just to make sure they'd survive in u?
Is there a reason u have quantity and not quality?
Good luck!!!

At yesterday's u/s I thought it was bad that people could see my butt whenever the door opened and I was sitting up. Not so fast! Today I apparently didn't undress and hop up on the table quickly enough, because the u/s lady opened the door and exposed my naked front side to the whole hallway! I might have cared if I had any dignity left, LOL.

@tequiero21: My clinic does 5 day transfers for everyone now. The theory is that the culture has gotten so good that it is beneficial to grow them to screen out the bad embryos. No idea why I have so much quantity with little quality. Maybe meds/protocol, but probably egg quality or sperm fragmentation?

@raintreebee: Did you say in another thread that you were on a few units each of Gonal-F/Follistim and Menopur each day?
pear / 1531 posts
@spaniellove: meds were high. 300 units of gonal F and 2 to three vials of menopur
