@kentuckygirl: Those are some great follicles! Do you have any idea when you released? I hope they're able to catch those eggs with the IUI still! It sounds like you have a good chance since I would guess maybe it happened yesterday?

@littleredhairedgrl: Good luck with your HSG!

I ran into a lot of out of town IVF patients while I was in line for b/w today and overheard a conversation that really made me think. This woman was going back home to Toronto today (I'd just told her some places to get cheap luggage) and the tech was saying that her husband and kids must be glad she's going back, so she corrected her and said no, I don't have any kids yet - I'm still waiting for them to show up! And the tech apologized and said that the woman was wearing jewelry that is usually only worn by moms. So the woman explained that she did that as an affirmation because she believed she was going to be a mom. And when I heard that, I marveled at how positive she was and how much she went through to be here the whole time she was doing IVF.

hey ladies! i'm a little late to the party this week, but wanted to check-in

What cycle are you on/how long have you been TTC? since september 2011

What are your plans for this cycle? today was the beta from my FET and it was - not sure when we'll start a new cycle from here, probably soon

How is your attitude/outlook? pretty rough. today's was a big blow

What have you struggled with most this week? my job requires me to deal with a lot of other peoples' problems, and i'm having a hard time not yelling back that i have problems, too, and for them to pull it together sometimes - its been one of those weeks haha

What is your diagnosis? severe MF

If you could go back in time and tell yourself about your infertility, would you? absolutely - i wouldn't have wasted so much time trying naturally when that really isn't an avenue that is going to work for us, i would have jumped right in to IVF much earlier

@PastaAndPotato: I'm so sorry to hear this...I've been thinking of you and rooting for a different outcome. Do you have any more frozen or would you be doing another fresh cycle? I hope that whatever time you have in between cycles can be spent pampering yourself and doing whatever you need to do to feel better. Sending huge hugs your way.

@spaniellove: thanks, she thinks the eggs released last night or this morning bases on still being able to see the fluid around the follicle. DHs count wasn't good (but motility was), so we are going to do another IUI in the morning. I feel like we are throwing money down the drain but at this point what's a couple hundred $ ?!?!

    Any update for you?

@kentuckygirl: Actually that sounds like decent timing! I was reading that sometime in the 24 hours after ovulation is ideal. My clinic wanted me to trigger tomorrow night for a Thursday IUI, but when I told them I had a + or very close OPK this morning, they told me to just come in tomorrow for another check and maybe I'll do the IUI Wednesday. But, good news - it turns out my CD3 FSH this cycle was my lowest! 8!

@kentuckygirl: Wow your RE seems stupid to me (no offense). I had similar size follicles on a Tuesday morning, did my trigger that night, and my IUI mid-day Thursday. Her not even wanting to do your IUI for 5 days seems super odd. I hope your RE is right though about when the eggs released because you certainly can hit them after they've released....and that's well within that window. Wishing you the best of luck!
@spaniellove: Wishing you the best of luck with your IUI!

@PastaAndPotato: So sorry to hear about the negative beta. I remember how devastated I felt after my failed frozen cycle. Remember that this is a numbers game and eventually you'll be on the winning side.

i seriously cannot thank you ladies enough for the support that i've found here. i was actually just talking to DH about how i wish he had somewhere like HB to talk to people who understand and can talk with him about what he's going through. each and every person i've encountered on HB has been thoughtful and completely beautiful in their support of each other, and i honestly don't know if i would be able to go through all of this without you guys - thank you, thank you, thank you.

@kentuckygirl: thinking of you and hope that your IUI went well this morning!

    @spaniellove: ahhh good luck!

@PastaAndPotato: I'm sorry to hear of your negative results. You're so strong to be able to continue on at work and help others. I wish for good things for you during your time between this cycle and the next. Take good care of yourself. Sending you lots of love and strength for the next round.

I'm glad to hear that HB is helping you. Maybe indirectly it helps your husband because you're getting additional support. I don't know what I would have done without HB during my IF journey.

so i was supposed to have my hsg yesterday, was at the radiology center and after 10 minutes of prodding around inside me, they couldn't do the procedure bc the dr couldn't get even the smallest tube into my cervix. has this ever happened to anyone before?

the dr said if i am getting af, then there is an opening large enough for things to go in and out, but it was too small for the test.

she thinks it may be bc of a leep procedure i had 2 years ago causing some scar tissue on the cervix.

needless to say, i left the clinic hysterical and just feel like there is one bump in the road after another some days i feel so positive and then this kind of thing happens.. urgh.

@littleredhairedgrl: Yuck, that sounds like an awful experience But maybe your cervix the answer to why you've been having TTC trouble? Did your doctor provide a plan to fix it and get the HSG done?

  28. sweetooth

    nectarine / 2705 posts

@littleredhairedgrl: I'm so sorry to hear that. I bet that was hard to handle since you already had to gear up for the procedure itself. So now you have to wait for AF to show up and go back? Huge hugs to you. Grab some chocolate and get a pedicure - or whatever is your magic pampering cure

  29. littleredhairedgrl

@mrs.someone the doctor at the clinic recommended rescheduling for next cycle and that i could go to my doctor the morning of the procedure to get dilated a bit and then go in for the hsg and that may work. she said she didn't think this would be causing issues, but of course that is the first thing i think of..

@sweetooth thanks i have an appointment to talk with my doctor about what happened this afternoon and then a much needed acupuncture appointment tonight!

My IUIs Monday and Tuesday went well. DH's count was much better on Tuesday, so between the two, hopefully we have a chance this month. Thanks for all your encouragement and positive thoughts!

@spaniellove: @littleredhairedgrl: I was just going to comment about that! My RE believed that my LEEP may have been causing some of our infertility (though I had no issue getting my hSG done - perhaps your radiologist just wasn't very good at it?). On our first IUI (which bypasses the cervix and sticks the sperm right next to the egg) we got pregnant, so what your fearing as bad news might not be so bad after all! And my LEEP has not affected my pregnancy at all so far, though I do go in for a cervical ultrasound tomorrow just to make sure I don't need a cerclage.
