My diagnosis: Endometriosis, low ovarian reserve
DH diagnosis: Low count, motility has improved dramatically with the help of a ND
Treatments so far: We have had two previous IUI's and are getting ready to do the third any day now
Medications so far: Femera for all IUI cycles
Other notes: We took a break from treatment for almost 8 months because I was struggling to deal emotionally with the situation. During that time we worked with an ND and I am glad we did that. My hormones have been more "normal" and my DH has seen improved motility. Ultimately it lengthened our journey but I am happy we took the time to get to a better place both physically and mentally.
Methods you would try to get a child: We would do IVF at least once I think... after that I would look more seriously at adoption but we haven't really discussed if this is something we would pursue.

When did you see an RE: March 2013, after 12 cycles
History of IF in family: none, although we did just learn that one of DH's cousins was conceived via IVF
My diagnosis: Unexplained, although I have hypothyroidism, short LP, and low progesterone
DH diagnosis: Unexplained, but he has low-ish morphology (3% Kruger Strict); the RE wasn't concerned because his other #s were great
Treatments so far: 2 unmonitored Clomid cycles, 4 IUIs, 1 IVF
Medications so far: 5 cycles Clomid (3x 50mg, 2x100mg), 1 cycle Femara (5mg), 1 cycle Gonal-F (225ui) & Ganirilex (250ui)
Other notes:
Methods you would try to get a child: IVF, maybe surrogacy, maybe domestic infant adoption. Not sure about donor eggs/sperm. DH would take some convincing on anything more than IVF.

When did you see an RE: Haven't. I have an appointment with my ob/gyn at the end of February. I saw her for my annual in September and she said to come back at the one year mark.
History of IF in family: Not that I know of but I've never talked to my mom about any of this.
My diagnosis: Nothing yet. I suspect something related to a short-ish LP and maybe low progesterone. If I had to guess.
DH diagnosis: Nothing yet.
Treatments so far: Again, nothing yet.
Medications so far: 3 cycles of post-O progesterone
Other notes: I've been charting and using OPKs consistently since we started TTC. I know I'm ovulating, so that's half the battle. I really think the long term use of BC completely messed up my body. I guess we'll know more in another month or two? I'm "scheduled" to POAS this Sunday though.

@LindsayInNY: I would think that an OBGYN probably wouldn't have the facilities (lab) to do the test in house but they should be able to give him a referral to get one done, you can ask that it be somewhere close to work

When did you see an RE - asked my OBGYN at annual appt 8 mos into TTC, then quickly referred to RE after husband's SA
History of IF in family: none
My diagnosis: mostly normal, but found a few polyps during a hysteroscopy... having them removed Monday!
DH diagnosis: Congenital Absences of the Vas Deferens due to cystic fybrosis gene mutation (he's a carrier for the gene, but doesn't have CF. Basically, the pipe needed for sperm to exit his body is missing, so we're doing IVF with ICSI.)
Treatments so far: Had our first constultation with RE in Nov, and have been doing lots of prerequisite tests so that we can do our first round of IVF in the next several weeks!
Medications so far: Every night, I'm taking birth control pills and prenatal vitamins!
Methods you would try to get a child: I never thought I'd even consider IVF until we realized it would be our only option to have biological children. I don't even want to think about having to consider other choices if this doesn't work...

@LEIALOU: I'd be interested to hear more about Robertsonian Translocation. We've been through punnet squares from 9th grade biology with our genetic diagnosis. Luckily, I'm not a carrier. I haven't met anyone else yet with a genetic reason for IF!

@LindsayInNY: You're welcome to post. Anyone is. We haven't gotten around to drafting the membership contract yet.

My diagnosis: Body does not mature eggs enough on my own regularly enough to be able to time intercourse.....I also have hostile CM!
DH diagnosis: None
Treatments so far: IUI MEDICATED CYCLES
Medications so far: CLOMID AND CRINONE, GONALF, BUT I HAD WAY TO MANY EGGS FOR AN IUI....LIKE 14..EEKK

Other notes: WE ARE YOUNG SO I FEEL LIKE AFTER 6MONTJS OF BCP AND ONLY 1 AF CYCLE I WENT TO MY OBGYN WHO CONTINUED TO BLOW IT OFF DUE TO MY AGE AND JUST GIVE ME PROVERA......I FINALLY WENT TO ANOTNER OBGYN AND TOLD HIM MY STORY HE SAID WE COULD DO BLOODWORK AND MONITOR A FEW CYCLES TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON.....I WISH I WOULD HAVE NOT WAITED SO LONG TO GET TESTS KNOWING WHAT I DO KNOW, BUT IM GLAD WE ARE MAKING PROGRESS!

History of IF in family: I think one of my aunts, otherwise the women in my family just see a penis and they're pregnant

My diagnosis: PCOS

DH diagnosis: He's fine

Treatments so far: 4 cycles of clomid, one with IUI

Medications so far: Clomid

Other notes: I've started taking vitex, Vit D, Cod Liver Oil, Red Clover, Red Raspberry Leaf and seeing an acupuncturist. I'm also low carb, low sugar and grain free. I've ovulated on my own these last 2 months albeit very late, and both of my pregnancies were without the use of drugs.

Methods you would try to get a child: Whatever our bank account allows!

Months/cycle in active TTC: Oh gosh, I don't want to count. It's been 3 years

Ages: NOW we're 29 (me) and 31 (DH). Started at 26 and 28.Those 3 years went quickly.

Any children- Little Pinata is ours through adoption and is 20 months old already.

Past pregnancies-0

When did you see an RE- We saw an RE in April 2011

History of IF in family: Nope, nothing on either side.

My diagnosis: Supposedly I'm all in normal ranges. Although sometimes I have low progesterone, that would be an easy fix, but isn't worthwhile to treat with such poor sperm quality (so we're told).

DH diagnosis: He has great counts, decent motility and awful morphology. His morphology has been as high as 2%, but is usually 0-1%.

Treatments so far: We did a LOT of natural stuff, acupuncture, herbs, supplements, homeopathic stuff, etc. They helped with DH's counts and motility, but never with morphology. We tried one IUI, but then decided to pursue domestic adoption. (yay!)

After Little P was about 9 months old we went to a new RE to discuss our options for #2 hoping to do a few IUIs and save for IVF. The RE found horrible hormone imbalances in DH, so now we've been trying different prescriptions for almost a year to see if we can get his hormones in a better place, and therefore create better sperm quality. It would be a miracle if any of this works and DH's quality is good enough to try IUI.

Medications so far: I did Clomid/Ovidrel for our IUI and have been on progesterone a few months here and there. DH has tried prednisone and some other drug I don't remember.

Other notes:

Methods you would try to get a child: We will definitely adopt again. We are interested to pursue IUI again this annoying year of various drugs is over. It may be the IVF is our best option, but if we do go that route it will have to be out-of-state because we just can't afford to do it at our local/expensive clinic.

@Mrs. Pinata: We found out because my RE decided to test his blood on a whim. She said it isn't a test she usually orders but wanted to cover all her bases. The only tests he had before that was his SA and hormones. We actually didn't know that's what he was getting his blood drawn for. It cost us $5 out of pocket. We have never had to pay much for lab tests. Thankfully our insurance is pretty good in that area. Then we paid a $35 copay when we saw a geneticist.

@SweetiePie: We did discuss PGD with our doctor. She didn't recommend it for a few reasons. The first is that there are studies that show when the man has the translocation the bad genes are in the bad sperm. They try to pick the best sperm for ICSI and throw out the two headed ones! The second is that there isn't a lab that does PGD anywhere near us. The embryos would have had to been shipped several states away and my doctor was concerned that would weaken or damage the good embryos. The last reason is I have no issues so she was confident we would get plenty of eggs and have lots of embryos to work with. So we decided against PGD. We ended up with 10 embryos, six made it to day 5, and now we have 2 left for one last FET.

Ages: Currently I'm 32 and DH is 35

Any children: No

Past pregnancies: 2 missed miscarriages. First at 7/8 weeks in January 2013. Second at 11 weeks in August 2013

When did you see an RE: September 2013 we finally saw an RE after my diagnosis (see below) and genetic counseling.

History of IF in family: None.

My diagnosis: Balanced Reciprocal Translocation between chromosomes 18 and 20. Basically part of my 18th and 20th chromosomes are switched. Odds are high (around 80%) that I pass on either too much or too little chromosomal matter resulting in miscarriage, stillbirth, very short lifespan, or severe disabilities. It sucks because I get pregnant very easily but getting pregnant naturally isn't an option for us.
After our 2nd miscarriage, we had the fetal tissue testing done since I needed a D&C. It showed a 'partial' trisomy 18, which was indicative of a balanced translocation. So my husband and I had karyotyping done and found that I am the carrier.

DH diagnosis: Nothing - he's passed all tests with flying colors.

Treatments so far: Went straight from TTC naturally to IVF w/PGD. The PGD is a must because the majority of my eggs are 'bad' from the translocation.

Medications so far: Just those that go along with IVF - stims for retrieval (Gonal F, Ganirelix, Menopur, Novarel) and now progesterone for transfer (PIO IM injections every morning with Crinone Gel suppositories at night).

Other Notes: I got a BFP today! So hopefully it sticks!

Methods you would try to get a child: IVF w/PGD is our only option for our 'own' child. The only other options would be egg donor or adoption. I'm leaning more towards adoption if it comes to that.

History of IF in family: not that I know of
My diagnosis: unexplained infertility + DOR and LPD. I've never ovulated on my own since I started tracking in October 2012
DH diagnosis: no known issues, SA was normal
Treatments so far: Acupuncture, 5 unsuccessful cycles of Clomid, just started my first IUI cycle, with femara + gonal-f + ovidrel
Medications so far: Clomid, progesterone supplements, Chinese herbs from acupuncturist, FertilAid, Fertile CM, B-Complex, guaifenesin, starting femara and gonal-f this cycle
Methods you would try to get a child: unsure. I don't do well with medical stuff in general, and am terrified of IVF, but if that is what it takes, that is how far we'll go.
