A friend has an extra ticket and offered it on Facebook but no one took her up on it. I asked her about who was going and it sounds like it'd be a fun girls' night, buttttt I have never seen any of the Star Wars movies.
Will I be totally lost?

@Applesandbananas: Gotta start somewhere! Seeing the movies in the theater is a totally different experience than watching it at home, so I would definitely take advantage.

If you want to go to get out than go! If you want to truly understand what's going on and who people are then I'd watch the original trilogy (episodes 4,5&6)

You really won't need much backstory to enjoy the new movie. It's quite enjoyable!
